Subjective Feedback :
a) Having the ability to switch between different character builds is a very handy function. For some characters I have a 'PvP build' and another for 'PvE'. Other characters I have builds formatted to make flashbacking easier. It's a very nice thing to have, and I'm glad to have it.
b) I am happy that previously-slotted enhancements do not carry over into the new build. This gives me something more to strive towards.
c) The 15-minute delay between switching builds seems arbitrary at first glance - why is there any delay longer than there is for switching costumes? Is it lag-related, or something geared towards stopping exploitative behavior?
d) Having to 'train' your multibuild is kind of annoying, having to click the Trainer, click to level, put in your slots or power selection, then do it all over again 49 times... it is a little annoying and I wonder if there would be a better way to do it. If it would take a significant amount of effort behind-the-scenes then it wouldn't be worth it, IMO. -
I love this guide. My Assault Rifle sounds like a *gasp* Assault Rifle now

I don't get it. It doesn't feel like I'm being a superhero at all. Why are these here? I know the story, but it's just not the experience I'm looking for when I load up City of Heroes. -
Looking for the sound files for Sonic Blast's : Scream, Shriek, Shout, and Howl. I looked through this thread and didn't see them (except for the 'echo' from Shout).

Wait, wait. . . .as long as I rebubble before the original PBU Bubble fades, then my new bubbles will be buffed as well?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not exactly - it's that the original PBU'd bubbles have their duration refreshed, they aren't 'new' bubbles. If you or your target zones, you'll have to do the whole thing over.
But yeah.. it's fantastic.

PBU'd Short Circuit is better. Enemies with no endurance can't attack.

Yet Short Circuit isn't a FF power or available in an Epic power pool. -

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, I didn't see it in your guide.
It's possible, given a bit of time, to give Power Build Up-Bubbles to an entire team. This is not so handy on short missions, but priceless on longer ones such as the Terra Volta Trials.
Have 3 people gather near you. If you're fast enough, you can cast your PBU'd bubbles on the first three people. Do not bubble the others yet, not until your PBU comes back up (about 1m20s for me). The next 3 are PBU bubbled, and refresh the bubbles on the first 3 you bubbled. When it's back again, refresh everyone's bubbles and then PBU'bubble the last person.
As long as you refresh the bubbles with your standard, un-PBU'd bubbles, they last in the PBU'd state. In this way it's possible to keep your whole team swimming in Defense Buffs. -

I would always prefer news like this over a early buggy release.

Like a certain Piratical-game I could mention. But I won't do that... *mutters* Lousy account issues and broken open sea engagements.... -

Dear Positron,
Good afternoon. Thank you for responding to our questions for more information about Issue 13.
And on a side note. Please fix the store so that I can purchase Booster Packs for other players as gifts. I'd like to purchase 10 or so of these for my friends that also play. Plus I'd like to give you my money to help with the development of my favorite game. However, since I only have 1 account and I can't very well purchase 10 Cyborg Packs for 1 account then I guess that I'll have to keep the money that I would have liked to have given to your company.
P.S. Rocket Pack costume items please.
Thank You.

Dear Peregrine Falcon,
Thank you for your feedback. We would LOVE to come up with a way for players to "gift" our Super Boosters to other players. The real problem with this lies in credit card fraud. It may seem like a simple problem, but it's really very complex. Once we have a workable solution that Billing and Customer Service can sign off on, we will allow players to gift Microtransactions post haste.
Yes, yes, Rocket Packs are on Sexy Jay's todo list, I just am not exactly clear on when they will be done.
Hope this clears things up for you a little bit.

Have you thought about using NCCoin, or maybe using the PlayNC game time cards in some way to make this sort of content available?
Maybe make the game time cards transferrable into a sort of e-money credits used to purchase the add-ons. -
Thank you very much for the guide.

What would I tweak? Change the animation of Repulsion Bomb to a much faster cast, reduce the recharge by one-third. Add more damage to Force Bolt and increase its recharge by half. Change Repulsion Field so that it has a larger radius but pulses less often.

My top issues, in no particular order:
a. Not being able to use accolades while exemping favors power gamers at the expense of casual players who got their accolades later. Let accolades be used in PvP zones regardless of what level they're earned at.
b. 7. The difficulty of leveling and equipping toons decreases the number of people who can get involved in competitive PvP. [s]Make a paid PvP expansion where you can auto level to 50 and get unlimited loot for a toon, but can only play in the arena and PvP zones.[/s] Rework the bounty system and bring it to each PvP zone so that players that PvP can expect to be able to equip themselves with SOs and basic invention enhancements through PvP. These enhancements would be flagged 'no trade/no sell' to avoid a market influx/crash.
c. A good PvP build can be very different from a good PvE build. Allow players to toggle between build so they can use the same toon to be good at both PvE and PvP.
d. Having no PvP contact on the dev team makes feedback unnecessarily tricky. Tell us who we can talk to and what they want to know.
e. There arent any meaningful rewards to encourage participation in PvP. Add zone rewards that are for PvPing, not for doing PvE activities in PvP zones.
f. When more than one team of heroes or villains is in the zone, they have no way to communicate and plan an assault without the opposing side hearing. Make request faction side only.
g. The lack of meaningful rewards discourages people from participating in zone PvP.
h. Add a 30 second period of being unable to attack enemies/be attacked, similar to the counter on you when you enter PvP zones. This is especially needed for Masterminds and classes that could use this time to buff their comrades.
i. Bring back CoP and IoPs.
j. Take away disincentives to base raiding, such as defending SG members not involved being in the raid being unable to use their base, and the potential of property destruction when scheduled raids do occur.
* I think a very good option for making a separate "PvP build" for a character would be having a secondary enhancement screen where only enhancements gained through Zone PvP can be used. Rare and Ultra-Rare invention set enhancements could be applied not to defeating players, as that could lead to exploits, but instead to difficult zone events. For example, say a Zone mission would be for Heroes to get together and take out an enemy outpost with a secondary mission to defeat the base's leader (who would retreat with guards) Villains would get the opposing mission to defend the base and submission to rescue the base leader. Secondary mission completion would give the side to complete it a chance for a drop. Completion of the objective would definitely give a drop. Zone missions should be designed to be completeable within a half-hour period, with a new mission occuring 5 minutes after the last was completed.
My biggest beef with PvP is that it completely destroys the immersion I enjoy when I play. A role-playing filter, able to be designed by the player and turned on and off at will would be ideal.
Example: I want to add '[censored]' and 'n00b' to the RPFilter. I would type, /rpfilter add [censored]; then /rpfilter add n00b. Then I would type, /rpfilter change [censored] silence; then /rpfilter change n00b worm. Next time someone told me "[censored] n00b" in the game while I had the rpfilter on I would hear "Silence worm!" -
As PvP stands in the game right now, I hate it.
No, that's not quite accurate. I find it to be a trivial, tacked-on addition to a game designed to satisfy the bare minimum of people to make it a viable alternative to the 'main' content.
I think that's a shame. What would I change?
1) For Zone PvP implement clear and concise goals with desireable and attainable rewards in tiers. Some could be dynamic but the majority should be static and carry over to the main part of the game.
2) A way to level through PvP and the ability to PvP from square one. Heroes fighting villains is the backbone of the game, why they shouldn't both be players is beyond me.
3) FIX SUPERGROUP-ORIENTED PVP OPTIONS.
4) More AT and Powerset balance in PvP.
5) More maps and possibly zones for PvP.
6) Candy. -
Well, damn. We need a new guide, all (or should I say, "both") the Sewer Guides are pretty out of date. I barely remember doing the trial back in the day.

Is this method still viable?

I think the group was called "Reapers", or had "Reapers" in their name. The video was a bunch of PvE footage of them running through some otherwise-difficult missions with ease.
There was 1 Kin/Sonic/Psy defender, 1 Kin/Psy/Psy defender, 2 Kin/Dark/Psy defenders, and 4 AR/NRG blasters. They used Coheed & Cambria's "Welcome Home" for the first song in the video, I don't remember what other songs. Their method was pretty much putting mobs to sleep, running in, getting 2 fulcrum shifts, then hopping back and AoEing mobs to death with 2 flamethrowers and 2 full autos. Next group they'd speed to and kill with the LRM from the munitions ancilliary of the blasters, still fulcrum-shifted. Next group they'd repeat the first tactic.
Trying to find it again because YouTube took down the old one and I want to show a supergroup member. -
MAJOR issue with Lady Grey's TF. The final temp power that the leader gets that looks like a personal electric field lasts for apparently 2 weeks. Our leader got disconnected, came back, and wasn't the leader now, but still had the power. However, she didn't get to call the contact and the power remains. The aura is driving her bats*** crazy, as well as the rest of us. It is ridiculous. We're sending bug reports and petitions but no help so far :/

I'd just like to say that I would LOVE to see the Battle Axe and War Mace sets made available for Scrappers, and I don't see any reason why Dark Armor couldn't be made available to Tanks.

I can say that open beta for Exteel has not yet begun nor have the invites been sent out for it yet. We're going to post something for the public (on the website) as soon as we have some specifics to provide.
Exteel is currently under an NDA (which has nothing to do with the OB delay, btw) so please remember that is all I can say to those who were not Exteel closed beta testers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I first heard about Exteel not all that long ago. I've always been a huge Mecha fan, I even won a huge tournament at the Norfolk Scope in BattleTech. Well... I won third place. But considering I went in with a battalion when most came in with a regiment, I think I did very good. Hell, I know I did very good... I was in line for first place until I was double-crossed.
I played BattleTech for years with friends, and also the accompanying MechWarrior RPG. Then I got into Macross pencil and paper RPG, but always went back to BattleTech.
I still cry myself to sleep sometimes having missed my chance to own Steel Battalion. -

As fabulous as the conning colors are, we know not everyone can distinguish the differences between them. The arrows (up or down) are a redundant indicator so colorblind players can quicky tell how hard an enemiy will be.

There is a problem with that, in that enemies that are much higher do not have the little pips under the names.
