This is great
Sooo anywise.....does this mean we may all soon see a a bunch of maps with the preatorian worlds to explore and adventure around in?...instead of a few small areas from a mission?
Will players eventually be able to take on a nifty beard while traveling in those mirrior universes?(like spock had in that old star trek episode)
Anywise it all sounds neat...but....i hope we wont see super power enemies who wield bronze weapons beating the stuffing out of players...becasue i hate to say this...bronze isnt that great of a metal.
And i hope that there might be some neat aqueduct systems...becasue thats what the romans where fairly good at. -
You know its funny you bring this up.....i noticed some of the power effects can be easily overridden by other power effects...what i mean is for example...
On super speed...i can overright the graphic efefct with the darkness cloud power from darkness power set....the effect changes to a white color with the darkness just beyond...in addition using the prestige powerr slide...the pink over rides that orange from super speed...allowing em to slide around in a pink format......i also found that the costume effects of auras overright the power efefcts too...like i decided to change my fists ona character to have a pink color burning effect....this makes me able to ignore the typical orange color from hasten.
Soooo...anywise.....thought i might bring that up....becasue if it where me i would just make more aura modules that get called or change the current ones.
I also might bring up the niffty effect that some unscrupoulous players for a while where using to eliminate some the graphic frames in the some of the powers to make their powers go alot quicker in pvp and in the normal game...but i am sure you already know about that....and i am sure you already know about other players changing their graphic palletes altogether to get differing power looking effects...especially with the demo record option and such....
In fact on you tube their used to be a video of someone using green flame and another one with a person using blue effects instead of the normal energy red ones....
So anywise...thats a great bit of information....on how the powers work....and about the customization....
I assume their is some huge plan being created to make the system entirely customizable...other wise you would not be posting this stuff...
I mean the big list itself....WOW!...that is a fairly huge task to tackle.....the coloring and such will be simple....but some of that.....I take my hat off to your team if that what they are trying to tackle.
I can forsee some of the lag issues and alot of other issues you have not even covered that would have to be tackled...the stuff you mentioned is easy in comparison to the other things. -
The article was interesting...I hope the "city of.." stuff never goes on the playstation 3(the xbox 360 is fine though)...the console is too easily hacked and all it would do is cause the game to be swarmed with people who cheat.(check out ps3cheats.com for an example or some ofhte dash hack network sites)
Take a look at the final fantasy xi gameas aprime example...as soon as it was available to the consumer on the console...bamb...hacked....it was out for the pc first and it didnt have too many problems...as soon as the consoles got it...bamb...super speed hack...infiinte health hack....the list goes on.
In fact so far...only microsoft with the xbox 360 has done anything to actively prevent that sort of thing from happening in their games...to a point...that many hackers are getting irritated and frustrated by the fact that they cant use hack saves or are getting banned formthe xbox live service.
(i site the forums for xbox live and again the hack sites out there that will confirm what i am saying)
If the game came out on the xbox 360....i would definately get it. On a ps3...nope....dont think so...just not enough control mechnism there(it has a horrible problem with its hardrive and keyboard support).....not to mention if it did come out onthe ps3...i might end up terminating my account becasue of the rampant hacking that would be caused by its console availability. -
I have a few forcefield suggestions...
The two attack powers for example i think need the tweeking...
The force bolt....with its minor damage and knockback.....thats really neat....unfortuantely as anyone levels.....the power begins to not knock things back as much as it did....in fact some things attack still during the animation of knockback no matter how far away you send them.(thats with all knock back enhancements slotted too)
In addition some foes...seam to be just immune(aggain 6 knockback enehancements i find i cant knock some things at all....of cousre players and villains and heroes are virtually immune anywise)...and the nifty 2 damage you cause even though its shown as you doing 2 damage is smash damage....and is normally ignored.....an easy demonstration is using this power on trolls...notice how not only you can't knock them down or back most of the time...but also the nifty 2 damage the game reports seams to be actually zero damage as you can leave your cursor over the health guage of the enemy and see that they infact took no damage...alot of things seam to do this....my hero stats program for example reports i have done alot of damage with it....yet from actual effect either the enemy has magically gained health from the hit(i.e they have more then 320 health) or they are resistaing the damage.
The Force bomb power is another one...hmm minor damage....
Basically i think that the power should maybe do a diorient or stun...might as well drop the damage since it doesnt do much anywise...that or increase the damage...being these are the only attack powers from the set.
Controller wise...the damage from those powers is too small(thats based on a comparison of secondary powers with damage)....defender wise...the damage from those powers is easily off set with blasts.....master mind wise.....they have pets ergo...no need for damage....but again the low damage amount makes the actual damage powers have no real value...oh you can knock something back....sometimes....gee like it cant shoot back or come get you anywise...in fact aside from swarms is there anything that cant shoot in this game?....also is there anything that cant shoot at sniper ranges in this game?....
Also the personal forcefield....should maybe work like superior invisibility...in that it stays on but you can also attack through it.....but like superior invisibility the effect should supress....so that some benefit could be gained from it...but not all of it.
I realize that there was some need to keep it from being on...but lets see...the maxmum defense you can get is 90% ever...that 9 out of ten attacks fail to hit...just how many attacks do people get hit by....my hero stats reports that in a second i normaly get attacked in a normal combat about 5 times per second.....which means the defense is not as great as one would think.
By the way...a big irritation is the no sleep defense....also i noticed some stun attacks seam to cause a sleep effect as do some enemy disorient effects....malta, crey, and freakshow, and clockwork, cause these effects the most often...noticable enough to see the dispersion bubble i had set up go down...while i am stuck in some helpless animation.
I realize it might be a bit of problem to prevent the forcefield toggles from turning off after being stunned....but that would be the best tweak to give force fields.....i mean i could care less if i where stunned for an hour and stuck wandering drunk if i had at least the forcefield toggles still going giving me some defense against attacks.....
the imprisoning bubble....i was thinking perhaps you should let it cause damage if it doesnt work on a target...becasue it seams to not work on alot of things...and when it does work...perhaps it should be changed to allow players to effect the target in a different way then normal...perhaps like if they attack the imrisoned target they could knock it away or move it...like a beach ball or ping pong ball....if nothing else doing that would add some interesting tactics if not some more fun to the usage of the power.
oh well...those are my suggestions....only testing would determine what would work or not...i for one base my thoughts on using the powers in table top gaming and other computer games and this one...so go figure...i have a lot of comparision to see things that work and dont work. -

Actualy i did some experiments and the taunt effects dont really matter much and also the fact that the mitos and hammidon fire rapidly make it fire at multiple targets now on and beyond just the taunt users.
In the last raid, no matter how many taunt players where below taunting....the hammidon still shot every one else in addition to the taunting players.
So um you might be right about the idea behind it.....but in actual changes to the abilites of the hammidon itself and its mitochondria....those changes prevent that from happening.
Also you might notice hammidon now kills the phantom army and the decoys created by the phantasm.
I have not checked this though but i think that actualy means the text for those powers is now wrong...as it specificaly states they are indestructable....also means the phase shift text is wrong as well....although i should check it...i think it used to say the player's body is in another dimension and that they cannot effect things in this reality nor can anything effect them.
Bu then i think alot of people are not looking at another possibility......this change could mean that their may be other uses for phase shift in the future....maybe this is the start of something that has been suggested for a long time of phased targets hitting phased targets...etc. -

So then does that mean the Poison Heal from the Master Mind set cannot use these enhancements?!?
And then I assume that the healing power from the storm set cannot use this enhancement either?!?

Sorry Diablo 2 was first in that respect...and even then Phatasy Star Online came out before EQ as well.
Phantasy Star Online Marked the last of the user end saved data which was hacked big time.
DIablo 2 featured the first time user data was saved on a separate computer system...and Vivendi gloated about being hack proof too.
Anywise its too bad the developers for this game fell into vivendi's trap of making up stories...
If you read their front Worlds of War Craft start page....you will see by count alone that they banned over 5 million Hacker accounts in the last few years.....hate to break it to them...they never had a player population to support that.
Its too bad Jack fell into the Vivendi rehtoric stuff.... -
Well Sally still appear about every half hour....and it seams she gets killed alot by players so if people are not seeing her...thats why.
Anywise The only one i have trouble finding is the paladin construction and thats probably becasue it appears at weird times and does its construction into a giant monster fairly fast.
As for Jack and Eochai someone mentioned not seeing them....well they appear alot as well....although the new areas they appear in...and the places they move to are under trees sometimes whihc stops the targeting from working all the time.
So the increase in the monsters is kind of nice....a bit troublesome with the paladin...but over all still nice....
Now if only the Archanos FLier onthe Villain side would appear normally.

After second thoughts i figured i would add this little bit in to help people having trouble with giant monsters.
For Crotoa i made some macros:
/macro Jack "target_custom_next Jac"
/macro Eochai "target_custom_next Eoc"
/macro Sally "target_custom_next Sal"
That will when you press the grey button make the targeting reticle try to find the next target with the letters in the name.
As for why i used 3 letters....i like to change the letters to different things depending on where i am....and 3 letters are easier.
For example in Dark Astorie I use Ada
In Kings Row i may use Pal
Yes these will target other things that use those same letters.....but who cares...it makes it 100% easier to find the monsters.

Nice Guide....um i have afew observations for the soloists out there.
Stategies for beating Snaptooth if you are a blaster or controller or defender or dominator or corruptor while solo:
Get your immobolization power or slow power.
If you have the immobolize...slot it for range and use it....he is a sucker for immobolize...just stay far enough out of his range and you can kill him easy.
If you are an ice user you will find the immobilize wont work on him...but it does slow him....at that point you want to stay close but not that close......he will try and get you..and do his nifty melee on you....all you have to do is run around and shoot him.(he runs around like he he is under water or using the Six Million Dollar Man Bionic Run...go figure)
I have defeated snaptooth solo over 100 times....he is fairly easy once you figure him out.
My favorite technique is the range thing with immobolize....by the way if you are an earth controller....it takes a very long time to beat him....you can immobolize him....but he has resistances that makes him not take as much damage from earth...was taking my earth controller about 40 minutes to beat him as an elite boss...as she was only level 22.....and his health came back fairly fast.(yeah 2 damage over time with an occasional 15 damage is not the best even with containment..that barely beats his regen rate)
If you are a Solo melee user...fill up with defense inspirations...thats about all you will need.
Solo Stalker...i dont think i need to explain much....beat on him....but save your placate...if you are about dead...use the placate run off and rest...then come back.
If you are a Master Mind: a little tougher...best to use flight i find...as the little guys will come after you....but just remember you can summonthe guys on roof tops.
Kheldians solo: I used range in nova form....i think i got all his little guys wiht my ranged attacks once they appeared but i ended up shooting from range alot and everything tended to run away....I used this same tactic with a blaster until i figured out Snaptooth was a sucker for the immobolize.
oh yeah one thing....related to the mission...if you are lucky check out the upper left hand corner of the map(in the water)....you sometimes get to see fight club monkeys there that do fight each other.....if you do have a villain/hero team going....one can fight one set and the other can fight the other set...
I am not sure what their purpose is....but they do count for the zookeeper badge. -
I dont know if i truly want to even try this Task Force.
Seeing what has happeed with the Recluse Strike Force....
I just feel that anything that not everyone can enjoy...is just not something i like.
I find it pathetic right now on the villain side of the game that people only will team with specifc players with specifc powers.... which means over 75% of the players will never have a chance to experience that game content.
And i can't help thinking that this is another one of those things happening. -

But are the drop rates going to be the same as the Salvage is now?
If so.....I guess most people wont be doing your system...due to the fact they wont get much salavage or recipes that much.
On average i get one salvage piece out of 20 enemies i defeat.....and usualy the salvage pieces are pathetic common generic ones that includes for deafeating archvillains and boss types.
In addition i hope your recipes dont follow the way enhancements drop...becasue i am sure most level 50 players will enjoy getting things they cant use....
I still get Training enhancements for goodness sakes.
So now there is something else to add to the entire drop database.
I forsee from your descriptions....alot of database coruption and down time...due to all the different items.
As you said 43 different recipes...placed in a consignment house list....by say 100 different players alone..
I strongly suggest you think about eliminating the level system for the enhancements and make them all generic level..or else there will be no players with sets...as they will all out level a set before they get a recipe to make another enhancement for it. -
Hey um i noticed you will get the set items from the Story Arcs and Trials and such...
But I have many characters who have done most of the arcs...and trials and task Forces.
Does this mean I wont be able to get the things for the Story Arcs now?
Or is there going to be some actual data mining to give some stuff to people? -

Motto: "Mew"...ok i dont know what it is...changes from super group to super group...and gets changed if a leader feels like they want to change it.
Leader(s): Sleepy Kitty, War, Pep Cat, Kasumi, a plethora of others i have missed alot of them.
Player Type: Um anyone who wants to play a Cat Girl Themed Character or a Friend of the Catgirls....some players are big time addicts to this game and play alot...some power game...some like to do PVP only...while others go for badges, badges and More badges...all ranges of player types.
RolePlay?: On the Legion Chat channel there is alot of role playing....and during special events or when somone wants to make a special super group for some added enjoyment.
Membership levels: Hmm...good question...about 30 members online at all times....cross server...with 5+ super groups on guardian alone...The Big three on Guardian are the Legion of Catgirls...with the entire base decked out...The Kitty Revolution agaion with an entire base decked out....Mew...again wiht the full base decked out....when i say decked out i mean has all teleporters possible(you have to look for them sometimes) worktables...enhancement and salvage containers...the entire med bays...
SuperGroup Colours: Um I think its purple and blue....not sure really....you can be in super group mode but you dont have to wear the color or emblem....you just need to look like a Cat Girl....and some of the groups like the Kitty Revolution takes Friends of Catgirls....on a case by case basis.
Normal time of Gameplay: Pretty much any time though very early morning gets sparse with communication.
Other information: Well Battle Kitten runs the Hammidon raids alot....and hmm...well we seam to do alot of Task Forces and Trials(sleepy kitty likes badges)....we all might be slow to respond...but we keep in touch with the Chat Channel: LegionOFcatgirls. You will probably see a catgirl sometime so just ask her for more information.
Recruiting?: Yes...we always are recruiting....we have a i think a 2 month or perhaps 3 month inactivity policy on characters....but usually a big anouncement is made first....the super groups get filled up alot. Oh and we have some Special Super Groups designed for the Inactive Level 50 you have puttering around...after all...you might not be playing your Level 50...but you can still keep them in a super group.

You know i cant for the life of me complete one of these mission with my earth controller....i dont know what it is...but its like the villains always resist the powers i have and escape....
I guess its just not something to try when all you have is damage over time abilities that do 1 damage every tick and you most powerful attack is a single target hold that consumes alot of energy for 15 damage.
For me....I try to skip these if i can....the extra timer thing at the end is an unwanted stress that makes it so i cant explore and have any fun with my other characters...and the fact i cant do it with an Earth/Forcefield controller....makes it even more unfun.
The only good thing is that i can still get a contact if i i am successful or not. -
I think most people have to understand that there will always be some retard trying to claim that video games or Television or Radio or something is the reason why someone does something.
That Moral Combat thing is just an excuse and is a way to try to blame something else instead of putting the blame where its supposed to go.
The blame should go specifically on the parents and guardians and educators who do a crappy job at doing things and don't care either. -

No the changes dont make it too much better then before....its back to what it was before the animation was enhanced.
So since the damage is still below normal moderate damage...it is still one of the last blasts i use personally....i will use psionic scream and psionic tornado before i use this one...as they do alot more damage.
And by the time i get those powers off...my psionic lance and will domination and such have recharged anywise. -
Say um could someone add the Samurai armor options to the armored sections of the costumes....
Seams kind of silly to have skin tight bulky armor in my opinion.
I noticed onthe female chest section i couldnt select the samurai stuff...soo....thats why i had to post this. -
here is an issue not listed:
The teleportation links to faultline if they where already placed on teleport terminals will send the recipient to the old faultline not the new one.
Right now the game will make you exit the old map after a short period....sometimes instantly and sometimes after a few minutes....but you will still have been teleported to the old faultline map.
(personally i hope that this map is kept and used later like maybe for some time travel fun...as i always felt secret areas and places for people to hang out is always alot of fun.) -
Actualy i just wanted to point out...
Its not that the cost exceeds the perceived value.
Its that the cost becomes unatainable to maintain.
My Group I am affiliated with has multiple SUper groups since there is a 75 character maximum per group.
We have put in all the teleporters and items and played with the bases alot.
Yet the cost to maintain now is 153,000 prestige for one base alone.....not only do we not have that prestige balance available on that one super group....but from experience i find i get alone only 350 prestige for a mission complete and about 10 prestige on average per encounter in that mission.
As a level 50....the only missions i can take are shadow shard missions right now....soon this will also include newspaper...but the amount of prestige gain wont change.
As i have pointed out......even if somone pays the amount....and we dont get any more prestige....the cost for the next amount owed will increase......but since we dont have the prestige amount most likely we will work alot to get that prestige.....in which case we will not only have an increase due to normal increases owed but also due to the increased amount of prestige we got.(thats called a double penality)
In essence i suspect our next amount we will owe is 180,000 prestige for that group alone.
You see the low percentages dont effect small numbers much.....they effect the huge numbers a falacy i have abused in more games then i can count.
Another group i am with can no longer maintain their base becasue they owe over 1 million prestige for the rent and they have a smaller base too...go figure on the game mechanics here.
In a nutshell.....the constant inflation...and non changes to the bases(becasue if we do we have to owe more ontop of the price to build the new things)....make the system un-fortunately Un-realistic....un-fun...and basically impossible to use.
Our only recourse it would seem is to have a closed base....or basically disband and start new...with nothing.
In this case i doubt we will disband...so we wont be using our base....problem solved.
Thats the problem....not some cost that people dont like...the problem is a cost thats not possible to keep up with.
1% of 1 million is 100,000....no player can get that amount in a weekly fashion.....the developement team made sure of that.
And there is no way all 75 memebers are going to work feverishly to get that amount....becasue even if they do...they will have to keep making more and more until it wont be possible anywise....the bases becomes an impossible to keep.
What i dont understand is why the development team does not see this...does not realize it...and why it seams you in your own statements and presentations still don't understand this concept.
I have heard rumors their are bases out there that the super groups owe alot more then 5 million to keep.....and i have heard they just keep the base closed all the time.....becasue they cant afford the weekly costs.
So then.....I really dont get it....I mean How much more of a Clue or how much more basic concept does one need here?
Oh yah....and also you forgot to mention...the costumes are free most of the time.....Free Costume Tokens per session....
No base equivilents exist...so therefore....people will probably spend more time with costumes...becasue they can....with a base....they try to....
By the way....I urge you to Check the Legion of Cat Girls Super Group bases and coalition bases.....you will get many example of the inflation limits and what can be done.
The LOC is cross server and has 2 to 8 Super Groups affliated with them per server.
I dont think you can really get a bigger cross section for active players in my opinion.
Owe and the issue of players making their own items....we tried that..people did that and inflated the base amount owed to way out of control......so the idea of making your own item for the base...kind of didnt work at all.
But again i tell you to go take a look for yourself....its seams this entire conversation is based on specualtion and not what is really happening.
Heck i have over 20 Free Costume tokens left on a character...i may never use those tokens...
Thats a huge difference of something i can play with for free...as opsed to something i cant even pay for. -
hey um...I love the mayhem missions...especialy with all the fixes and such....its alot of fun destroying a ton of stuff.
i have one request...its a small one but i think many people will agree with me...so i guess i want to ask that development team consider making the mayhem missions random.
As in random maps.....I am at the level 42 to 45 newspaper missions only hell levels.
yes before anyone makes one comment, i have completed all possible missions aside from newspaper missions.(oh and warburgh ones and one broken unlockable contact named veluta Lunata which both give infinite missions)
And when i mean random i mean...instead of getting founders falls all the time at my level i would like to have an occasion kings row or Atlas park mission. Just up the levels or change the spawns to the uper levels...i dont care which....i just want a little variety.
i have done founders falls enough that i know where every spawn point is...i can even trigger the ambushes and i know where the come from or appear so i can leave my master mind minions there to kill them for me while i do other things.
Or i can bypass them and make them not spawn if i so choose...as i have found what triggers them and how to make it so they wont appear.
Anywise I just wanted to request this feature.

I use the term character my self...because the term toon or alt i feel like it lets others know you could care less.
I take pride in my characters...
I am surprised you have not noticed people saying the other idiotic phrase.. "I rolled up..." as in "I rolled up a toon last night" or "i rolled another alt last night"
I like the terms generated or created.
Since in no way did i roll dice or create a random character...since this game does not have that feature.
But with such a culture as the human race's throw away mentality...and how it has gotten worse over the years...i am not surprised by the term toon or alt. -
Hmm you know if the rest function increased the domination gauge...
And the meter for it never went down or else the button once it was ready stayed ready until it was used instead of turning off for lack of staying in combat.
I am sure the Dominators would not be considered sucky by anyone.
If anything they would be considered someone to make sure to kill first in a pvp zone...instead of either being ignored or used as a free kill by most players.
And in the normal PvE game their versatility and readiness at that point would be a bigger help to teams and for actual game play....
i am sure thats not noticable to people who use pets or basicaly let others do the work for them most of the time.
but if you solo, or have to survive on your own for anylength or just want to be able to be that person who can come in and make a huge difference for a team when they are losing.....then you would understand what i am talking about.
I see many people taliking about damage...but thats not realy what a dominator is about....unless they are supposed to be reverse blasters....i suppose their powers are like a Blaster's just alot weaker. -

Um i have some screen shots if this will help....
They are not that good as they are from a rear position to my character.
Anywise i immediately noticed the changes becasue when i logged on my character looked like she was wearing all black for her chest and bottoms....;_;
So anywise some other people in the tailor place i went to had the same issues.....so i know its not just me.
When i try to choose the female>chest>tight>chaos leather
I notice the tailor trys to give me some form of flack jacket with some odd textures on it. -
so basically this means the defense effects the accuracy or the base defense....
if it effects the base defense thent he accuracy bonus is going to make higher level things actually do better andhte origianl problem will remain.
If it effects the accuracy then the defense will have a floor to it....meaning no matter what the enemies will hit you 50% of the time...whihc means basically everyother hit you will get hit....ergo the defense is in a worse standing then before.
So anywise which of those does it effect the accuracy or the base...
Also is there any chance to see how this effects the character blocking or defelcting or absorbing hits.....i noticed i had a power doing this when i turned it on....
In my opinion this would signify i was getting defense but something esle in addition.....
So anywise maybe i am totally off....
