Meh. If you use IOs towards that goal, you can hit and even exceed the 150% recovery that a fully slotted stamina gives. So, I don't think it's particularly necessary to an MM, though it never hurts.

From what I've heard, you need high defenses (So, /Traps, /FF, possibly /Thermal or /Dark) Presence is necessary, as are ranged pets, Tough/Weave isn't necessary, but helpful, as would be Manuvers and Combat Jumping/Hover. Basically the idea is move the pets a little bit away, but still in Supremacy range, and tankermind the hell out of the AV/Hero.
I've been told that Soul Mastery is the best one to take as it has the best shield (it does appear to be the best shield, adding Res to 4 different damage types).
You want to add IO sets that increase +Def or +Res, too. Of particular note is the Shield Wall's special IO that adds +3 Res to all damage types and the special Gladiator's Armor that adds +3 Def to all damage types. Blood Mandate is the favored Pet set as it has +Def, too. -
Ah, no? Personally, I don't like Ninja Run. At all. Powers that come with booster packs should be novelties, nothing more. Especially nothing that gives anyone an edge over someone who didn't shell out the extra cash.

Nah. Demons have even gotten some backlash because people claim they look like cows and constantly make annoying sounds.

Just so I know how to judge, what would an average be of Defenses/Resistence/Recovery be of the average end game MM build?

I'm currently taking a Mercs/Traps through Praetoria, and it's pretty fun, too. It'll get better when I can plug about 4-5 Achilles' Heel Res Debuffs into the build, too (Burst, Soldiers, Spec Ops, Acid Mortar, and Commando)

It's not so much for the mundane effects as it is to maximize as much as possible Accuracy/Damage and keep the +Recovery from the set bonus. If I replace the Soverign Right pieces with flat Accuracy/Damage IOs, if I have all Blood Mandate except for the Achilles' Heel, Accuracy or Damage drops up to 24%. I may try switching them out for Blood Mandates for the +Def bonus, but something's gonna take a hit.
You're probably right about Medicine and Defenses/Resistances, too. (Though Medicine does offer some good slots for the +recovery spaces) Also, I've been slotting things to both maximize recovery and give the most benefit to the powers as I was trying to run without Stamina.
As for Gambler's Recharge... isn't that insanely expensive? I'm really trying to avoid the 'Chance for X' procs and other special procs aside from Achilles' Heel because I really want to keep the pricetag down. I see your point, though there are other ways to increase recharge. Let me see what I can do on this build...
I really didn't want a build with a hefty price tag, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to make one that won't have alot of shortcomings in one area or another.

Hm. You sure that Presence/Fighting and all that is absolutely necessary to take on AVs? I'd prefer not to drop Leadership if I could. The buffs are pretty useful, especially for Mercs.
Also, how much height can Combat Jumping give when used with Super Speed? -
Basically, most elemental types have a secondary effect, Cold can slow and lower recharge, Elec drains Stamina, Dark tends to debuff, Fire's secondary effect is... more damage.

It's best to have Sandolphan's keybinds, as you have to stay defensive, and the original macros don't generally help with that.

If you go the debuff Mercs route, you might want to try /Traps, too, it fits thematically and it has some skills that Achilles' heel can fit into (It can fit into Burst, too)

That is, an alternate dimension of undead things that you summon up and control. DnD is... kind of odd that way.

I would have really liked Munitions Mastery for a Mercs/ MM, it's really too bad.
If the problem was from some of the attacks I dunno why they couldn't change it around with a couple powers from the Devices Blaster Powerset
Taser, Targetting Drone, Smoke Grenade, heck, even the Time Bomb and Gun Drone would be neat to have and aren't available in /Traps -
Vet Reward... wait, Power Slide isn't included in that. Now I need to check to see if Power Dash, Rush, and whatever else that is included works...

Could always go the route that I think one version of DnD uses, Animate Dead doesn't raise the dead but summons them from an alternate dimension of dead people. Odd, but somehow it works.

Ah, nice. So far I've found that /Traps builds are more difficult than usual to build because there's very little space in the beginning for power pools. Power management is annoying.

Quick question, if you use hasten to speed up recharge on /Traps, can you put down multiples of the same trap? Specifically Acid Mortars & Poison Traps.
