Ah, nice. So far I've found that /Traps builds are more difficult than usual to build because there's very little space in the beginning for power pools. Power management is annoying.

Putting a +recov IO in Triage or health early on could be used. Try to aim for some +max end bonuses, particularly the one from 3-slotting Gladiator's Net as that operates no matter what level you are. 2-slotting Shield Breaker gives some Recov and 2-slotting Mocking Beratement gives more End.

First crack at both mercs and traps. Taunt skill is vital for any amount of AV soloing.
Hm. You sure that Presence/Fighting and all that is absolutely necessary to take on AVs? I'd prefer not to drop Leadership if I could. The buffs are pretty useful, especially for Mercs.

Noto Bene: GOTO Defensive IS bodyguard mode as long as your d00ds are in Supremacy range. This gives Ranged pet sets an advantage to Tankerminding as you can position your pets outside the AoE area while you taunt enemies away.
Fighting or Leadership is a personal choice, however.

Also alot of your pet slotting doesn't seem to make too much sense either, you're slotting for End recharge which all added up is about the equivilent of Stamina. I know you're trying to avoid fitness and I'm probably a bit traditional that everyone should take stamina(except /ELA). All you're doing though is wasting potential set bonuses just to avoid an extreamly useful power in the first place.
You also don't need Aid other as a end game build. While leveling it's extreamly useful for a traps build since it lacks direct heals but at the end you'll be controlling the fight by tanking or with your variety of abilities(Seeker/Caltrops) limiting the damage your minions take.
As for your desire to run with leadership. You don't need tactics for a mercs build. All of your guys have -defense. You also have acid more for more -defense. Even against Mako and a few others you'll be stacking more then enough -defense to hit the 95% hit rate.
I also don't think Assault is worth it, but thats just me haha.
Some of your pet slotting doesn't make much sense either. 5/6 Blood Mandate+achilles is both effective and affordable. I don't understand the 2 and 3 slotting for the mundane effects.
Also add Gamblers Recharge to all Defense powers that you can. Such as Ice Armor, Combat Jumping, etc. You'll still keep your defense inc cap and get a free 7.5 recharge.
If you're going to add Gladiators, an expensive set, definitely add the +3% defense.
I'm sure there's more but you get the idea.
It's not so much for the mundane effects as it is to maximize as much as possible Accuracy/Damage and keep the +Recovery from the set bonus. If I replace the Soverign Right pieces with flat Accuracy/Damage IOs, if I have all Blood Mandate except for the Achilles' Heel, Accuracy or Damage drops up to 24%. I may try switching them out for Blood Mandates for the +Def bonus, but something's gonna take a hit.
You're probably right about Medicine and Defenses/Resistances, too. (Though Medicine does offer some good slots for the +recovery spaces) Also, I've been slotting things to both maximize recovery and give the most benefit to the powers as I was trying to run without Stamina.
As for Gambler's Recharge... isn't that insanely expensive? I'm really trying to avoid the 'Chance for X' procs and other special procs aside from Achilles' Heel because I really want to keep the pricetag down. I see your point, though there are other ways to increase recharge. Let me see what I can do on this build...
I really didn't want a build with a hefty price tag, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to make one that won't have alot of shortcomings in one area or another.

I was able to get defenses up to 35-40+ on almost every category, Recovery rate of 142%, and bonus recharge of 41.3%
Just so I know how to judge, what would an average be of Defenses/Resistence/Recovery be of the average end game MM build?
Quick question, if you use hasten to speed up recharge on /Traps, can you put down multiples of the same trap? Specifically Acid Mortars & Poison Traps.
