Honestly? If you have three friends you regularly team with that understand to stay close, SOs would make you very strong (edit: very very very strong). Comparing SO builds, /shield with three in range of PF actually has more positional defense than SR, plus the decent resistance, plus an effective 7.5% resistance to melee foes (from AAO,) plus 30% hp.
Seriously, you don't even need IOs. If you're one of those nice scrappers that runs GC you'll have an easy time getting people to stay close to you.
Heck, here's a thought: get some friends and run a three shield scrapper team. If each of you runs GC and you stay within 15' of each other (almost double the radius of PF) you're all softcapped without even taking PF. With your triple DPS and quadrupe DPS nukes you'll just mow through anything. -

I have to wonder what their real aim is. Certain builds still have no problem farming missions set for eight solo.

It really seems like reasonable a confusion/request because:
1) Most temp powers in the game cannot be re-obtained at all, but the Shivans can.
2) A lot of day job powers can be refilled without completely using them. (Yes they're not the same, but they're a similar concept.)
3) It's just a little bit of text! It's not like a request for hours and hours of coding. -
I've done it on occasion, but lately I always seem to need some extra defense until the blue tower is down. I suppose I could call it bad luck.

Don't forget fire/fire/fire! It's pretty fantastic in enclosed spaces.

We played the worst prank in history on my linguistics professor. We were supposed to discuss a research article, but a couple people had... the wrong one! Zany!
Yeah not my idea. -
I was thinking about that as well, but concluded that the people going only for "top" SGs would just quit small ones anyway. From my former time as a SG recruiter and a SG lead, I can say that happens all the time. Some people get on one team and assumes that means there's a team available 24/7 in their level range that's not full. >:[

Quote:Which is an "exploit" and castle says they "will" fix it. But they haven't yet, and it would require reworking how the math is done on enhancing. So really it would be easier for them to just change the descriptionIt's a strange artifact of how the game sees certain power effects. Defense debuffs and defense buffs are considered to be the exact same effect except that one of them has a negative sign in front of it. Because of those, +def and -def are both enhanced by the exact same enhancement type. While it normally doesn't come into play because no powers in the game have -def while simultaneously having +def, it can come into play when you start slotting HOs because they can be put into any power wherein one of the enhancement values of the HO is effective. The defense debuff just kind of "bleeds through" to provide defense enhancement along with the acc.

Oh I'm only partly mocking the discussion, and only for its frequency.
I guess personally I could fit taunt into anything, but I don't think I've ever had a build where at least ONE power wasn't optional. I guess it would be hard on a fire/fire/fire, but mine is a scrapper -
Quote:Well if "a way" is the same as "not quite." I take the latter as being fairly soon, but the former as being much longer.http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=192
According to what the GM said on the live forums, open beta is still a way off.
Either way we don't know until we know, and a little speculation isn't hurting anyone. I predict it will come one day after the day after... global warming. Which is supposed to happen two days before the day after tomorrow, according to southpark. -
Quote:I'd call it a mix. On my Stone tank, I can do LR with a bubbler, emp or a bunch of purples. GW I need something with stackable -mez, or a bunch of BFs. I've seen Invulns do it, but they require more support. Either way without crazy IO slotting, you need some help, but it certainly affects how much.Basically, the design of the TF is supposed to be so that it does not matter what tank you take, so much as it matters what buffs / debuffs you have available for the tank to take advantage of. If you don't have any debuffs with -to-hit or -damage sitting on Recluse, and you don't have anything to buff the tank with, chances are you will go splat.

Stone end up overkill for most things, but it's sure nice on the STF. I mean would you really rather have to worry about not ticking off four of the hardest AVs in the game all at once, or just send in a stone tank with clear mind?
Anyway... I vote WP/SS. It's not quite as survivable, but it's sure fun! Either way I'll vote for super strength. -
Heh I love that this still pops up every day or two.
I figure if you want to take it, that's a good enough reason to take it. If you don't, that's a perfect reason not to. -

Quote:Oh I'd do a raid, I just don't really care to lead or target. I mean I *can* but I don't care to.This thread isn't JUST about recruiting team leads, it's also about getting people to voice their desire to have raiding come back. So, please, feel free to leave a response if you want raiding back.
Actually don't try to recruit me for targeting... I've done it without complaint, but it takes me a bit longer, since I'm colourblind and have to tab to see if something is a green or yellow >_>
OH! I could tank, though. Regin and all.
