Once you are moving past tinting power colors, and you move into changing power animation... Isn't that pretty much you being a developer at that point?
I guess it makes sense, we write our own missions now, we should go ahead and make all the animations too. Slowly the Developers will turn its subscriber base into its work force. We all have jobs at paragon studios, we only have to pay 15.00 a month plus tax for this part time job that won't do jack for us on our resume'. Awesome!
Honestly I don't want custom animations, even if they could implement the feature, seems like you would run into problems with people trying to shorten animation time, activation time etc, and even if it wasn't all that, sounds like it would be a lot of work to animate each of my characters by myself. Or I would have to select from pre existing animations and how is that different than what I have now?
Give me color tintable powers and I'm happy.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd assume that you'd chose from a set of standard animations that all last for the same time. -

So... with side switching... does this mean that villain archetypes will get ancillary power pools? I mean, they cant really have patrons as heros can they? Likewise, does this mean that heroes are getting a set of patron powers?
[/ QUOTE ]
You can have the Power Pool of a different Patron.
And once you learn their powers, becoming good makes you forget them?
[/ QUOTE ]
The Patron pool powers that let you summon an Arachnos pet? How are those going to work with a 'turned good' character? You think Lord Recluse is going to let you continue to be able to summon them?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure.
Every time you're summoning those spiders, they're not coming directly from Lord R signed and sealed with a kiss, they're bots you own and are calling in to help. When you left the Isles, you took them with you to put them to use for "good".
[/ QUOTE ]
That theory doesn't work so well for all the other pets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, it does.
See Bob, Agent of HYDRA. -
I'd get the height slider, you never know when you're going to say "Man I wish I could adjust the height slider right now."
-
Technically, with PvP recipes we now can gain 'loot' from killing each other, but not from each other, it just drops as a reward for the winner while the loser just gets sent to the hospital.
Funnily enough, 'items' and 'vanity' are completely mutually exclusive in this game. You can get lots of Invention enhancements, temporary powers and other things that increase your own powers, but they have no effect on your appearance at all. On the other hand, you can also work to unlock new costume slots and options (and buy them in packs), which have absolutely no effect on gameplay. Powers, which affect both your appearance and your gameplay performance, are more an inherent part of your character and are earned naturally.
We do have some end-game styled raids, trials and content. Hamidon and Mothership raids are designed for very large numbers of players with a moderate level of coordination, while the Imperious, Statesman and Lady Grey Task Forces, and the Lord Recluse Strike Force, are all targeted towards teams of level 50 characters. The next Issue seems to be adding a lot more end-game content as well, and we have yet to see much of what Going Rogue will contain.
While the game is more about the journey than the destination, there's pretty cool stuff to do at 50, too. -

OMG, I just finished reading this thread! Incredible entertainment.
The OP is such a clear bold faced turnipCaught trolling, admitting it, flaunting a plan to avoid the mods and then ....wow...just wow.
Best part of this thread for me was the community as a whole. Coming out and rallying around a lifestyle that for the most part they do not agree with or partake in. However they defended its rights over sheer stupidity.
OP I have to say in all my years I have never seen anyone simply fail to spell 'mad' correctly....over and over again.
What a thread...

I find that in most internet communities (worth a damn), bigots and other people with outdated beliefs and opinions tend to find themselves vastly outnumbered. Watching the ensuing dogpile is always lovely. -
Posi's pretty careful what he says in this interview, obviously he's trying to release just enough info to have us going wild with speculation.

I think Paragon City is basically ersatz New York in CoH-Earth, much like Metropolis.

Snag a shivan

Until they put the ability to get a Shivan in a non-PvP zone, snagging one isn't an option.

Bloody Bay is a PVP zone?
[/ QUOTE ]
Last time I went into it, having been cajoled into it by a team with the promise of PvE missions, I got snagged by TP Foe shortly after zoning in and nearly ganked by another player. So, yes, definitely a PvP zone. Though it may be practically deserted these days, I won't chance it.

Team? See, there's your problem. -

The ability to switch body types being added with the science booster makes me wonder if eventually we will get the long-robed character body that NPC's use, where the robe is part of the body, not laid over top of a pair of legs. Currently the reason why we don't have long robes is that there have been difficulties getting the robe to act right when trying to follow the existing legs. Note that robed NPC's don't have that problem.

I think being sinister yet heroic is just plain awesome on its own.
Even Diablo II has heroic Necromancers. -
As promised, the villains:
Sergeant Mittens: Cat Girl, Renegade Catgirl Space Marine From Mars.
Hyperhero One: Punch Clock Hero turned Fallen Hero.
Duokliss Mercuria: Half Human Hybrid, Woobie Destroyer Of Worlds.
Dark Matter Wizard: Card Carrying Villain, Black Magic.
Phantron: Cyber Cyclops, uh...
Johnny Blue Boy: Break The Cutie, Noble Demon.
Hm, I might organise the Five Man Band and Five Bad Band sometime. -
I wouldn't worry too much. If you want, you can create plenty of alts and go through the game any way you want.
The only thing I recommend a newbie not do is get powerlevelled, in the Architect or otherwise. We've already got an epidemic of level 50 newbies whom nobody wants to team with already, and a lot of them tend to have a terrible attitude. It's not a crime to be a newbie in this game, but you're expected to grow out of it as you level. -

Always assumed Lethal was less resisted. Probably because BS is Lethal and seems pretty strong.
[/ QUOTE ]
In my experience, lethal and smashing are comparable in resists right up until you encounter a rikti drone, council mekman, or other robot... then smashing gets a damage bonus and lethal gets a penalty.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I'm not sure what Smashing is weak against, but it's not robots, and you'll be fighting a lot of robots. -

Blaze should not be affected, because of fire blasts zero mitigation. Having it super damage really fast IS its mitigation.
[/ QUOTE ]
The point that I'm trying to make is that Blaze does more damage than any other non-snipe blast except for Blazing Arrow (which only wins because its ticks are guaranteed) but takes the exact amount of time to animate as a tier 1 blast. It's DPA is through the friggin' roof compared to all of the others out there.
Blazing Arrow: 86.73 DPA (171.73 dam, 1.98 sec animation)
Power Burst: 59.1 DPA (132.63 dam, 2.244 sec animation)
Blaze: 143.7 DPA (170.49 dam, 1.188 sec animation)
Bitter Ice Blast: 108.0 DPA (142.64 dam, 1.32 sec animation)
Telekinetic Blast: 103.2 DPA (122.62 dam, 1.188 sec animation)
Shout: 45.67 DPA (132.64 dam, 2.904 sec animation)
Honestly, Blaze is just too friggin' good. Even discounting the 37.86 additional damage from the bonus DoT (re: secondary effect), Blaze would still be the top attack on that list with 111.6 DPA. It's not as if Blaze is only slightly better. It's that it's substantially better in such a way that no other tier 3 blast can even compete, even ignoring secondary effects.
[ QUOTE ]
BiB however, considering the lines of how low its aoe is, might get a tiny increase in animation. Perhaps to 1.5 or 1.83, but nothing superly major. IF its 1.83s i'd honestly expect to see the impale animation used.
[/ QUOTE ]
Honestly, BIB is going to get a much smaller change than Blaze will if/when Castle gets to it, if only because it's on a 20 seconds recharge rather than a 10 second recharge. I still predict that it will get its animation changed to something slower, but not so much as I expect Blaze to get slowed down to.
[/ QUOTE ]
You look at that and see reasons to nerf. I look at it and I see a bunch of powers that need a bit of a buff.
Ticking off all the fire and ice blasters that play the game isn't a smart move. But given the recent track record of the developers on execution it could easily go either way.
[/ QUOTE ]
As could I and many other players about their subscriptions at this point in the game. Its quite sad to see how much this game has died down since a couple years ago. Nerfing things like this is one big reason for it too :/. So while not saying i would leave the game specifically for this, but it would mean less people to team with, and bring the game closer to dying
[/ QUOTE ]
Boy, talk about DOOOOM.
The devs can datamine to see past player assumptions. If something needs nerfs or buffs, it'll get some. -
What I meant was, if you make horribly offensive comments on a team of people where you know they won't mind, or in an empty channel where no other player can actually see it, you're fine. Dunno why you'd want to in the first place though.

You weren't here when everyone was getting tells from these guys every five minutes. Trust me, it's an improvement.
I can't believe we have an option to disable E-mail comments on MA arcs, but not email in general. -

I'm pretty sure most of this forum is familiar with TVtropes. If not, say goodbye to your free time. Either way, given this game's tendency to show off tropes like a peacock's feathers, I'm pretty sure we can sum up many of our character concepts in one or two tropes:
Sabre Justice: The Cape, Author Avatar.
Firefawks: Fun Personified, or Heroic Sociopath
Spectral Guardian: Our Ghosts Are Different, Incorruptible Pure Pureness.
Professor Backfire: Mad Scientist, Science Hero.
Blazebuster: The Real Heroes, Powered Armour

Somebody had an idea for a terrorist villain and wanted to know if screaming "Allah Akhbar!" while popping off self destruct was a petitionable offense. Needless to say, the idea did NOT go over well, with many posters saying that they would petition such in a heartbeat.
[/ QUOTE ]
Truly, epic lulz. I would be more sympathetic if this stereotype were NOT borne out yet again any time one switches on the evening news. Since it happens every day IRL - and often more than once per day - I'm not seeing where the alleged slur is.
Moral of the story: do stupid stuff IRL, open yourself up for lampooning. I fail to see this as some horrific problem demanding immediate game-master action.

Was gonna say, do the Moonfire Task Force, there's one mission entirely of Warwolves, another entirely of Equinox.
