    Solo Leveling?

On the downside, in the MA you miss out on a lot of rewards the proper game has to offer- Patrol XP, Day Job rewards, special temp power and purple recipe drops, all of those don't function in MA missions.

It's meant to supplement the canon content, not replace it.

    8 MMs on a team?

I wonder if it's possible to have an octo-boxer.

You might literally need a trained octopus.

    Nerfageddon

For extra flamewar fuel, just name one 'PVP'.
  4. You could totally make a MA arc with an enemy group of all different vampires.

I think there's a Blacula arc out there.

    doublefusion

This is the only MMO I can think of where billboard ads would make sense, and they screwed it up.

Eh well, expect more WoW-flavour Mountain Dew.
  6. The devs have given us NPC costume pieces, or at least modified versions. The Enforcer set is a modified version of the PPD Hardsuits, one of the coolest looking NPC groups in the game.
  7. Since you're from WoW, I might mention that you probably want to throw everything you know about MMOs out the window. This game is radically different- there's no Tank/Healer/DPS trinity at all, buffs and debuffs are much stronger and more useful than healing, and any combination can work as a team as long as the players are competent.

I might recommend a Fire/Fire or Ice/Ice Blaster: the former does positively ridiculous amounts of damage at the expense of mitigation, while the latter has a lot of mitigation in both sets.
  8. As I've said: $10? I've spent more than that on lunch!

I haven't noticed a difference. Unfortuantely I dont meen that in a good way; i have never gotten anything remotly aproximating satisfactory service from the NCSoft support staff. Perhaps I've just been unlucky.

Recently I was helping a friend complete her Snaptooth valentines' day mission. Snaptooth the elite boss was untargetable. He behaved as if he were an ally. We called a GM. After several rounds of broken English, my friend understood that we need a hero and a villain on the team to complete the mission. I explained to her that thats not how the mission works and that I ahve compelted it many times solo, but she felt it was easier to acquiesce, so off I went tog et my villain. It still didn't work. Then the GM said that we had to kill everything on the map. So we did. On the ENTIRE OUTDOOR MAP. Still nothing. Then he told us to ahve a nice day and left. I would say that I have never in my internet carrear had such an overpowering wish to find out where someone lives and beat the crap out of them. but honestly, thats about par for the course as far as Ive been able to tell.

I did have a good GM ONCE who helped me find the glowie ina mission that was stuck inside a wall. That was nice. Ussually though, they show up 3 hours later and tell me to reset the mission.

...wow. A few nights ago I had the exact same glitch with Snaptooth, and the GM just killed him for us and completed the mission.
  10. I really think they should have it not apply to the AE. It'll get the newbies outta there to experience some of the real game, and maybe help break the farming habit. Plus, people who want to stick with AE content will be able to do it in peace.

Double XP with Hami Farms in the AE will be the sickest thing ever, will make the Winter Lords of old seem like really slow XP

I doubt those will last to the end of the month.

I doubt they'll last to the end of the week.

    Solo Leveling?

    [ QUOTE ]
    Can I do faultline solo?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yep, though there's a few Elite Bosses in the arcs, so you might want to either get a good build, some teammates or a Shivan.

If you haven't done the Hollows, they've made the zone much less painful now. (toned down the spawns, added stores, a trainer and a hospital, and repeating missions)
  13. I think switching sides makes perfect sense for Soldiers of Arachnos. They've already basically gone renegade from the power structure of Arachnos to act as they see fit, from there it's not really that big a leap to imagine they've decided to go all the way and shack up with the heroes.
  14. I'm trying to figure out whether more people would be angry if Double XP applied in the AE or not.
  15. There's probably at least half a dozen to a dozen different ways you could build a vampire in this game.

Any combination of Dark/Dark on any AT.

Powersets inspired by the Council Vamyri, as said above.

    A freakin' Warshade.

SS/Inv, don't forget the Sparkle aura.

Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a whole SG of vampires based on any/all of the above. Except the last one.
  16. I've a feeling at least half the answers in this thread are going to be completely wrong. So unless four or five people list the same set, take it with a grain of salt.

    Solo Leveling?

You haven't seen all of the new content under 30. Faultline has received a major revamp and is now THE go-to place for 15-25.

I just picked up Assault and Tactics on my level 25ish Dark/Regen scrapper. Their bonuses are certainly small, but just enough that I miss them when I have em toggled off.

Also, as a Scrapper I don't feel very useful to the team. Leadership helps me feel better.

Also, I play lotsa Tanker and Dominator thingies. This scrapper is running less than 1 end/second of toggles, that's NOTHING! And who needs that stupid Stamina thing, anyway? :P

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you feel like you're not being useful, you're not paying attention. You're a Scrapper- nobody needs to worry about you, so go after the things that everyone else is afraid of. Bosses, sappers, Comm officers, it's called search and destroy!
  19. Statesman and Positron started this game together, if I recall correctly.
  20. It depends on your character. Defenders and Controllers I believe get higher buff numbers, which makes it more worth the end cost for them. Especially if your set already has end recovery powers (yay for Kin!).
  21. You can use old base salvage for collector's items, or you can use it to make Brainstorm thingies at an invention table. I think that makes collectors cry though.
  22. There's underlying reasons as to why Cimerorans can go toe-to-toe with modern soldiers and heroes- according to the fluff (whether you like it or not), Cimerora is the source of all the power that became modern superheroes.

    Basically, it's magic.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
My biggest concern when it comes to Going Rogue is whether or not Epic ATs will be allowed to switch sides.

It might seem goofy for a Crab Spider to become a hero, but I want to turn a Warshade into a Nictus, dangit!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Given that Soldiers of Arachnos have already gone renegade, going hero only seems appropriate.

And that would be turning a Warshade back into a Nictus.
  24. Putting it simply: Once you get SOs, you'll never want to slot a TO or DO again.

    Back to Basics

Should be more hardcore and not get any badges. Those were added after launch too and should probably penalize himself for any XP he gets from badges by accident. Oh and don't forget to work off all that patrol XP at some point. Should be uber hardcore and stop at level 40 as well, no PI or level 50 back in the day if you remember! No going to the Hollows or Croatoa and the aforementioned revamped Faultline or Cimerora either.

Delete folks off your global friends list too. You should stick to "old school" slotting as well, IE: 1 acc and 5 damage in your attacks, GO! This is excusable for any attacked tweaked to knockdown where you can slot a knockback enh to make it more annoying. Shoot, we also got an XP tweak and the curve was flattened out a bit so you're going to have to look up old XP tables and do some math to penalize yourself properly especially if you don't go hardcore enough to stop at 40.

Goes without saying that the tweaked Greenlines and such are off limits. I don't know how many hero side cape and respec missions you have to do to equal their old difficulty... ahh one shotting tanks with rikti swords in the cape mission, how I don't miss you. Oops that's another, one shot code, you have to kill yourself anytime it saves you. No PVP, not even arena! Be careful how you make your toon, lots of changes to the costume editor too, and none of those fancy propagated power sets or anything new! Hell, no CoV at all duh!

    [/ QUOTE ]

and the award for most obnoxious poster goes to....

What is your problem? The OP states that he is having fun playing without the crutches and you go overboard? You missed the point of the thread entirely. Ever heard of "if you can't say anything nice..." I realize I am breaking that rule to call you on this, but don't be such a clod.

to the OP: I agree, I prided myself on being able to run the gulch in the Hollows at lvl 8. Playing without the teleporters, and all the temp powers is a fun challenge.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Wow, someone has no sense of humour.
