I think there's fewer of those these days. Most of them have either clued up or quit, and farmers these days seem to avoid inviting newbies because of the bad rep it gives them.
  2. Task Forces were originally meant to be completed over several days, not all at once- hence you can all log off and come back and still complete them. This has been pretty much abandoned, of course.

[QUOTE=ReclusesPhantom;2164130]When aren't sombreros all the rage? Heck, I even got a friend one as souvenir =P

Definitely need Independance Day celebrated. Fireworks over City Hall, Talos Island, Gemini Park and Portal Corps, and each year a different group of villains could attack. Rikti, 5th Column, Arachnos, Council, Nemesis, whoever has a beef!]

    This
I've long suggested that the players make their own 4th of July fireworks. Fly up in the sky, let off yer nukes! Even better with Power Customisation.
  4. I think there's a badge that mentions Nemesis has a weather machine somewhere around the place.

As I said, I don't think it would be too hard or too annoying to add some appropriate sound and lighting effects for weather. You don't need rain effects necessarily, just darken the sky a bit, have thunder and rainfall sound effects, and maybe occasional flashes of light.

I want to play that now.
  6. When you're a catgirl who sets yourself on fire, I really doubt that you're going to care much about anything approaching realism.
  7. Actually, the Arachnos logo cape isn't from GVE, it's from the City of Villains Collector's Edition.

And you have it right, you can unlock virtually all the costume pieces in the game with tickets, but they're only usable within the AE.

Incidentally, a lot of people use the AE enemy creator to test out new costumes for their characters (see the Save and Load functions at any tailor) before they buy or unlock them.

    Plugging the Gap

I can't wait for Talk Like A Pirate Day.

And Australia Day, which consists of four things: Beer, Fireworks, Sunburn and/or Sombreros. Yeah, for some reason sombreros are all the rage these days.

Not really. I've never had levelup bonuses stack before...
  10. The only dumb question is one you don't ask.
  11. They might not have gotten around to putting the Science pack in the AE yet. If so, feel free to bug the devs about it.
  12. To be honest, if I lived in Paragon City, I'd drive like a maniac as well.
  13. Those look wonderfully trashy. I'd buy... well, more like steal the Desdemonda one as a poster.
  14. Basically, I think it's up to you- can you fit the powers in? Do you team regularly enough to get use out of them? Do they provide advantages that your default powers do not?

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure players will complain no matter what is done, or not done.

Could you at least provide some sort of subject and reasoning so I can understand your point of view?
The booster packs aren't origin specific. They're merely origin themed, any character of any origin can use them.

Your favourite character is Tech origin. The devs release something that would be perfect for your character, but it's exclusive to Natural origin characters.

This is a game where costumes are its biggest draw, unnecessary restrictions are not cool.
  16. How does running out of fire power prevent you from dropping caltrops?

Don't apply logic to powersets. It's a losing battle.
  17. You would not believe how much complaining origin-specific content would create.

I see, I see. I on the other hand enjoy progressing more.
And, as I said, raising the cap 5 levels in 5 years isn't that excessive to me.

Maybe there could be another way to "advance" the characters, if raising the cap is a taboo.

I'm not sure how those rumoured "universal enhancement slots" would work. Would you have to grind for a certain recipe to get them? Would it be even more insanely rare than getting those purple recipes (I've got three lvl50 chars and haven't got a single purple drop yet).

I'd like to see them giving something more fun than just a big boost of +xx% to recovery/damage/whatever. A new power, a nice special bonus (like those "+4 res to KB" enhances) or something.
You're asking for further advancement, new maps, new missions, new TFs- that's what the devs have been doing. And the devs aren't raising the level cap, so all of the existing content will still be easily available instead of abandoned like it is in games that do raise the cap.

Think about it from a newbie's point of view- in a game where the level cap is regularly raised, they're only getting further and further behind the players who are always at that cap. It creates a stark divide between the casual and the hardcore. This game does its best to eliminate that divide.
  19. Sounds almost as fun as murdering Carnies on my BS/SR, which is currently in respec hell. Hence my need for a farmer.

Incidentally, while tagging along a boss farm and gladly testing out my murdering abilities, I coined new CoH terminology: Ding Melee and Ding Armour, the powersets of a non-lazy lowbie on a farm.

Making it interruptable would be ... thematic ... but would almost completely negate it's usefulness.
Why is it silly just because the other weapon sets don't have it?
  23. 1: No idea.

2: My memory is hazy but it looks like you haven't found the Midnight Squad and Cimerora arcs. Villain Epic Archetypes also have new arcs as well.

3: It's been farm city for a while but it's starting to wind down, and there is plenty of decent story content to be found.

4: Yes they're temporary, no the max is beyond 2 hours. It depends on how long you've been logged out. And there are exceptions, such as the WW Teleporter, that you can keep for ages, and the Day Job Accolades give renewable charges for various powers.
