Well tbh folks games in graphics are getting better, and upgrading your ancient computers is becoming NECESSARY.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah. Sure. I'll have £500 please, and a free mouse.
Crappy is all some of us can afford, wether we like it or not. As soon as I can, I'll be getting the rig I've wanted for a long time. But, wow, lucky you, meanwhile you can still play at max graphics! Well done!
Try playing it on minimum. ALL on minimum. Now quit whining, plzkthnx.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if anything was done, its unlikely it wont go without supporting the old system as well and just have an extra few settings for those with decent computers. Much like EQ2 did.
That being said, CoH is going to die out someday and if your pc can only handle minimum settings your not going to be able to find any new games that will play on it. -
i like the idea, shame devs already said 'its doubtful this will be seen in game'
-
-
Yeah but dont forget we are in i14 pvp now
player skills went out of the window long ago.
-
Looking at the post now it sounds a lot like who would win out of batman and superman lol.
-
I always wanted to know, in a straight out fight with the same sets, same powers which one is likely to win?
Brutes start off lower damage but they get increased damage with fury. Scrappers get crits and have inately more damage. -

XP (32 bit) can handle 4 Gb but if you have a 256 Kb graphics card, then its address space is taken from XP's memory address space...
<----><----><----><----> 4 Gb (4096 Kb)
<----><----><----><---> 4 Gb less 256 Kb (3840 Kb)
Most of the other settings are accessed from ingame...
Menu - Options - Graphic Options - Advanced (button)
For users with multicore CPU's changing the shortcut target to include -renderthread 1 should activate CoX multithreaded mode.
[/ QUOTE ]
I never knew that one for multicores, thanks ^^ -
Personally a dream come true would be using that nice expensive Aion engine they paid a fortune for to run CoH but that is really unlikely because it would cut off the people who can barely run the current system.
So that being said, adding an extra setting to the graphics slidy bar would make me happy ^^ -
Its already been said by positron there looking into a higher graphical setting at the minute. As usual no date or issue was mentioned.
Whether its an overhaul or just some shiny new textures I dont know.

Lightning Blue: Any new maps featured in the new tfs?
P: LOTS!
Now that you guys can make your own missions, we need to do stuff you guys can't do on your own
We are also looking into a new graphics setting.

Also ironically it was made so noobs can get into pvp, but if they fight a play with full sets they still stand little chance anyway.
This could have been avoided fairly easily by making holds recharge longer, but giving them a longer duration in pvp so they cant be perma, and instead of having all armor toggles negated, have them halved so you still stand a bit of a chance.
The tough changes were too bad with armor, but it needs to balance more among AT's, a tank should be able to do just that, instead of blasters getting roughly the same then hitting hibernate when low hp.
AT's with damage always seem to do better in pvp, thats the way it is in every game. However trying to make every class the same stats but with different fx is just stupid. -
[ QUOTE ]
Call it what you want they haven't made everything the same, they fiddled with numbers to equalize the playing field between AT's which is something that never existed. Is it because you can no longer easily just destroy everything in sight now? Is it because other people now have a chance? I'm lost as to why making the PvP more open and enjoyable for more people and classes is a bad thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes.... blasters in constant melee range, with resists and defence more than some tankers and 2 second mezzes is right and equal.
If your going to try defend it, at least try play it so you know what people are complaining about -.- -
[ QUOTE ]
An Invuln on the dark side has a black aura instead of a shiny one like heroes. It could be where conceptually applicable keeping fire like fire and ice like ice.
[/ QUOTE ]
I actually never knew that *runs off to make invul brute*
Im willing to bet they work it so you have to be level 50 to change sides or something. Level 1 masterminds in atlas just doesnt seem like its going to happen. -
Well because i already know the set and it fits with the charecter concept, I've chosen energy/energy. Bit low on AoE's but should be ok, plus the damage rocks
Seems like whirling hands is a definate in the pve build then -
Ahh i didnt notice the taunt aura issue, but really villains seems to be mostly soloing nowadays anyway.
-
As the title says, I was looking into energy aura for my new brute, stats wise it doesnt seem as bad as people make out. Is there something Im missing?
To me it seems to be slightly better defence than shield, slightly less resists but with an endurence recovery/small heal instead of the damage boosts (from a pvp standpoint)
From pve standpoint it has low resists but the defence isnt too bad still except for the big psionic hole, but invul has that same issue and that does fine.
Please can someone explain or is it all just random nonsense? -
Old favourite of mine is with a heavy knockback power like power push or torrent at high level, if possible use power boost and play human golf with the hellions in atlas
Its fun when the noobs are running past and theres a hellion flying over there head and there like '[censored]?' also a challenging game, try aim hellions from the car park directly south of atlas through the statues legs -

PvP is a minority community.
But they seem to think they are far more important than the rest of the player base.
[/ QUOTE ]
No we don't.... Not at all.
We're all equal, we all pay the same. So we should all be listened to and responded to in the same manner.
Not just dismissed because we weren't playing the game "how far can we get our nose up" because everything isn't ok.
Though we were being quite polite considering our reputation.
[/ QUOTE ]
PvP is the only subject that would have taken more than one reply to deal - so Positron correctly stuck to answering one-off questions, rather than spending most of his time debating a game feature that is not used by the majority of the players.
[/ QUOTE ]
With it been the way it is, do you wonder why its not being used by the majority of players?
As for the pvpers complaining more, how about all the kicking and screaming when a badge or two is removed? :P -
[ QUOTE ]
Ok so:
/Selfdefeat
# Forces user to be defeated.
# 5 minute Cool-down timer.
# 30 second activation time (non-interrupt)
# Defeated user cannot be targeted.
# Perhaps "/cancel" can cancel the emote if accidently used?
# User incurs debt x2 when used.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to add to this, long activation time, but you can still take damage in this time period just so theres no way of exploiting it, for instance, a tank about to die, uses the command and gets 30 secs hibernate style time
If it would help, it could be done like a logout box with a timer, and you can press a key to cancel or you will die at time up and auto teleport to hospital. -
[ QUOTE ]
Or, how about this?
Make the /stuck command work.
And fill holes that people get stuck on in the first place.
/facepalm
[/ QUOTE ]
While were at it why dont we make the game perfect? end farming and get more players too?
Point being elimating things like getting stuck is a lot harder when you havent got a list of places people have got stuck.
Yes this would be a rehashed /stuck command but if its serious enough to use this one instead of the regular stuck at least the devs know its worth looking at. -

It would be nice but easily exploitable.
Example.
Oh noes! dis sux imma needin to get 2 the other side of teh map cuz dis stupid newspaper gave me a mish dee other side o teh map....what will i do?!?!?!?!
/e suicide
HA! i is now in dah hospipal and dah mish is only 200m away!!!!!
YAY!!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Got to admit, in terms of mega-haxx this uber "avoid a 1 minute run" exploit's not really sending shivers down my spine...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yet MA was released with bugs and issues a lot worse
/signed from me because the stuck command doesnt work if you fall through the floor or something, self destruct is ok but if your on a long cooldown its not much good.
A few other games already have this feature, and yes as its exploitable in CoX, it would be better with debt included and/or the usage logged in the form of a bug report at very least, so the devs know when and where the error occured and if there was no error, action can be taken. -
It seems like a nice idea to me, but the problem I can see is people abusing it, for instance, making a level 1 charecter, leaving it in city hall to get the improved powers whilst playing an alt then having an easy cruise through levels because your doing too much damage for your level.
I would like to see some use for the begining powers again, but I think this way would be unlikely. -
ahh ok so its definately higher than defender then.
If anyone has a link to the wiki page ToyRobotTerror was talking about it would be appreciated. -
I personally check the value on both recipe and ready made IO's first before purchase or selling, as a general rule if the recipe is under 3-4 million less, i will make the recipe instead (at 50) of course now the salvage is easier to get hold of with MA as well so its cheaper to make.
If the recipe in question is worth a lot, I tend to find its worth making it up to sell as an enhancement, such as purples.
The amount of bids can be a deciding factor as well, if theres 0 bids on the recipe but 5 bids on the enhancement, il make it up despite the cost just so it sells faster.
