Is Energy Aura really so bad?

As the title says, I was looking into energy aura for my new brute, stats wise it doesnt seem as bad as people make out. Is there something Im missing?

To me it seems to be slightly better defence than shield, slightly less resists but with an endurence recovery/small heal instead of the damage boosts (from a pvp standpoint)

From pve standpoint it has low resists but the defence isnt too bad still except for the big psionic hole, but invul has that same issue and that does fine.

Please can someone explain or is it all just random nonsense?

from pve standpoint - the biggest issue I have with it is the lack of a taunt aura and a proper heal. Defenses can be soft-capped these days with ease, so they're no-longer the issue they used to be.

Ahh i didnt notice the taunt aura issue, but really villains seems to be mostly soloing nowadays anyway.

I would advise to take an attack set that has some amount of mob control (like SS's Footstomp) to offset the lack of a taunt aura and cover the psi hole, but other than that Energy Aura is worth a try.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

I curently have a energy/energy at 18 and so far its been pretty fun suffers when faced with a lot of foes but then thats the nature of defence

Stone is pretty nice with energy as well. Dm too.
Wm/ea is strong and pretty.

Well because i already know the set and it fits with the charecter concept, I've chosen energy/energy. Bit low on AoE's but should be ok, plus the damage rocks

Seems like whirling hands is a definate in the pve build then
