Name: Golden Age Heroes SGs (Gods of the Golden Age & Young Gods of the Golden Age (young heroes))
Currently Recruiting: Recruiting "classic" style heroes, from the pulp magazines of the 1930s through the Golden and early Silver Ages of comic books (1940s-early '60s). Characters must have appropriate theme, name, and costume. No gimmicked names (misspelled, extra punctuation) allowed.
RP Level: RP at all times. Any OOC comments clearly marked with ((brackets)) or prefaced by <OOC> marker.
Theme/Concept: Heroes who feel their powers/abilities give them the responsibility to use those powers for good, despite any personal risks or sacrifices. No anti-heroes (aka Punisher), demons, gag characters, fantasy characters.
Activity: Medium to large group, mainly active evenings, some until wee hours of the morning, US time. We also have active coalition groups, so plenty of teaming is available.
Requirements for Membership: Must be at least somewhat active. Characters not logged in for extended periods (three weeks plus, usually) may be released with the option to rejoin when activity level increases. We request you run in SG mode at least until level 25, when you start losing prestige for being in SG mode. Any additional time in SG mode is greatly appreciated. It MAY be possible to contact SG leadership to have higher level charactes fund some of your enhancements if you are willing to help us earn more prestige, but that would be a rare case.
Leadership: Mr. Virtuous, Flambelle, Guidestar, Terratonic
In-Game Contact(s): Contact the characters above via ingame emails or /tells, or contact us on our website.
Out-of-Game Contact(s): Via our GuildPortal website.
URL: the group's website: Golden Age Heroes
Coalition(s): Various RP groups.
Other Details: Must look good in spandex or pulp retro costume.New members bring the doughnuts for the monthly meetings.

Heh... I want to see what they do to the buildings in Paragon which have the Cryptic Studios signs in front. Anyone else think they should just put "For Rent" signs in the windows? -

It seems now is a good time to throw in a shameless plug for an event here in Tampa. We have theme parks and pirate parties and we won't kidnap anyone. Unless you're into that, there's a club in Ybor if you are.

Thought that was you.
Yeah, have a get together at one of the steakhouses in the Tammmmm-PA area. We could have a meat and greet. -
As far as I know, Pinnacle is already the backup RP server and home of the Pinnacle RP Congress. -

*Watches as the prior poster misses the point of my earlier post.*
It's not about my getting the art. I've given up on that. It's about letting others know how they treated the commission. It's about integrity. They (MMOART) took an obligation upon themselves which they then proceeded to ignore.
I won't be checking this forum again, so I won't see any replies. Save your time and energy for something more constructive than flames and telling me what I should have done.
Have fun and play nice! -

Wow, a sale. Pardon if I don't go overboard with the enthusiasm.
A year ago, I won a contest. One of the prizes was to be a piece from MMOART. In the past year, I got one VERY rough preliminary sketch which looked like it was copied straight out of a Wolverine comic. The sketch couldn't have taken more than two minutes to do. I responded to the artist with a suggestion for a possible better pose for the character. There was no response. I have emailed from time to time over the year, but I'm still no closer to having the artwork than I was a year ago. My piece has never even shown up in their queue. Yeah, I know...paid projects come first. But no, they don't come first for an entire year. If you think of it that way, as long as MMOART has commissions in progress, the prize artwork will never get done.
If I had gotten my artwork in anything resembling a reasonable length of time, I would be blowing MMOARTs horn far and wide, and may have generated several new commissions from SG mates and other folks I know, some of whom have had cash pieces done from other artists in the interim.
C'est la vie.
Pardon me if I'm less than an enthusiastic MMOART fan. -
Questions:
Do you have an evil, Praetorian version called Darkhouse?
Is this your older brother?

Other than tell you it's another "Longbow Girls Gone Wild" screenshot. These seem to be eerily common.

IMO, nothing would be amiss (or at least it would be less blatant) if her head wasn't turned back towards the camera.

I pity the fool who doesn't miss you, CuppaJo!
Cuppa T isn't going to cry though. He's just going to go beat up on Chuck Norris some more. That always makes him feel better.

I looked at a lot of the posts, almost all as positive as I feel about the changes. Funny how no one I saw mentioned air superiority in their attack chain.
I bounce between focus, attack, AS, attack, rinse repeat. Bosses never can get to their feet. Never.
And the AS helps offset that irritating lethal resist problem we face sometimes. Are my SG mates and I alone in our love of AS in this set?
[/ QUOTE ]
That is just the attack chain I use with Liberty Eagle (Claws/Regen), on Virtue. I'm regularly able to take down +3 and +4 bosses without ever being touched.
AS & Focus FTW! -

Any of you veterans have any other good stories?!!!

OKAY! I admit it! I had SUCH a crush on HER! She has to be THE superhero babe of ALL time.
Anyone know who that is? Does this help? "Oh zephyr winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly." (BTW, "zephyr" is Greek. They had to import wind to Egypt, back then.)
Here is her page. Note that it has a mailing address and says she enjoys hearing from her fans! Everybody write her and tell her we want her to come join us in CoH!

So whatever he or she is touting as coming, has been coming for 2 years, and is still not in sight.

Huh? This thread was about arenas. Last I looked, we've had arenas for a long time. -

Besides, isn't half the fun of Mayhem missions being able to blow the crap out of your surroundings?

We have one on Guardian as well, Paragon Lantern Corps. Send in-game email to Power Play if interested.

THANKS!!!!! Thanks to the devs and the support staff, the in-game GMs and everyone involved. You folks are the best.
I laughed out loud in my local game store today. I looked at an advance order (empty box) copy of the upcoming Matrix game. It bragged about how wonderful their city environment was going to be. I then looked at the game's system requirements. If you don't have a meg of memory and an AMD 3000+ or equivalent, you can't even play their game. I thought of all the students and families who don't run the latest, fastest computers and how glad I am that I'm on CoH with them and not going to be buried under leetspeak with the overclocked ubergeeks. Then I looked at who is putting that game out. THAT'S when I laughed.
Congrats on a WONDERFUL game, Jack and crew. Youse guyz iz da bestest!

WOOT! Okay, I gave in to a little woot. Excuse me. It won't happen again...much.
Thanks for the reset! Now if I could just get my blaster out of debt from trying to take down Ulor last night. There was only one other person available to help, and both of us (as blasters) got treated to a death fest by that named Council vampire boss. It was a timed mission and one of only a couple I've ever failed.
I had even RESPECd to add more knockback and such to my Energy/Energy blaster, to keep bosses on their butts and make me more survivable. I guess it will still come in handy later on down the line, when things get tougher. At level 35, I hear the fun is just beginning.
I come from Horizons where I had played since beta. I came to CoH at the urging of a friend, about three weeks into live play. If anyone wants to know what customer service is NOT, play Horizons. I'm loving CoH more and more every day.
Thanks again for the change, JE! Make Mine Cryptic!
All the best...

(I'm a proud signatory of THE PETITION. See the Marvel Lawsuit Thread for more info. Marvel shall NEVER get another penny of my money! This thread is just one more reason I can proudly say Cryptic/NCSoft rocks.) -
Greets...
As I have a wife, a 20 month old son, a four year old daughter, a full-time job, and responsibilities, I can't group that much or for that long. I love doing story arcs by myself. I do missions with others in my SG when I'm able, but that isn't very often.
My main is a squishy blaster. Those of us who run energy/energy have NO holds or slows. (Why is this, devs? Is there no such thing as throwing a force field or energy siphon on a villain?) We have knockback and a bit of disorient to keep us alive.
Can we have a little consideration for those of us who solo, whether it's voluntarily or otherwise? I'm very dedicated to staying around CoH as long as possible. The content and support are way above anything else around. However, If I can't play the game solo other than by street hunting, I have little that's fun to do in those 30-60 minute windows when I can actually play a lot of the time. I'm afraid this will be a deal breaker for me, and I desperately want it not to be.
Help?
Thanks!
All the best...
