  1. Easy way to think about it:

    • Any purely stealth power toggle turns off the other.
    • SS has stealth as a side effect, no untoggle.
    • IOs don't care about anything. IOs ftw.
[edited to add: and don't trust another person's stealth]

Plus the 2 min latentcy of the IO lets you do fun things like take screenshots of yourself in the dead room in AE with the dialag of the lady saying there's no powers allowed being read through your body.

SS+IO is the most cost effective. Stealth+IO if you run into walls with SS [me]. SS+Stealth if you think the IO is too expensive [just put a bid on the IO recipe a few weeks before you need it for a stupid-low amount and you'll probably get it. And the low lev IOs, thinking of Unbounded Leap, are cheap and have supercheap salvage.

The clock looking TP stealth IO is cheaper and more prevalent than dirt. But will only get you 2 min between tps. Though it doesn't require you to get TPing yourself, you can Recall Friend and it will stealth you. Mucho cheap, but kinda weird.

I think there's a flight stealth, so you could hover around...ooh, neat ghost concept.

[added: The hover would also keep you from "stubbing your toe" and removing your stealth for 10 seconds. Pretty handy.]

Word. I love my Fire/Ice. Granted, I'm not in love with /ice, but once I get shiver I'll be even more a fountain of white hot flaming death than I am now.

Branch out onto different servers, they don't bite. I'm on both Virtue and Freedom with a toon each on Liberty and Champion.

    Odd Question

Listen to the song again, all the way, not halfway. Sometimes that works.

I don't know if they have medication for this or not.
  4. Accidentally started a new thread about 9->15 happening to me yesterday.

So...leave it and enjoy my belly shirts and Sands of Mu?
  5. NOTE: IGNORE THERE IS ANOTHER THREAD CONTAINING THIS TYPE STUFF.

I must have hit my 9 month yesterday because I log in and get.

    VETERAN REWARD
    VETERAN REWARD
    VETERAN REWARD

I got my 9 month, then 12 month, then 15 month. I know it's a mistake, and I only took my lame sprint thing on one toon.

Has this happened before? What doe they generally do? Cause if they don't take it away from the toons that unlock them, I'm getting my ghost axe/sands of mu asap.
  6. Maybe off topic: Don't leave anything bidding or selling at WW while you're gone. The bid and sale will dissapear along with your money or item after 60 days.
  7. Try the Brute forum. Install Mids, because that's what you'll have to do. I've tried just copying someone elses build and it didn't feel like me. It wasn't my toon, it was someone elses that I'd put a different face and outfit on.
  8. I mean, I know how I'd set up a spreadsheet. Or since it's simple enough you could use an Access database, but the complexity of it would be "$30k contractor" complex.

Or...set up a dual boot with Puppy Linux or similar and install Wine. With the light weight of Puppy you could have a Celeron and run it all.

Borrow a friend's laptop and run it off a portable drive. Install it at work and stay late doofing around.

OK, my spreadsheet. Columns for name, level, attributes and bonus with each set and each enhancement having a collapsable element for those rows [nested collapses.] Also a collapse for set groups [resistance, etc]. When you get a power you want to slot, like CJ, you find out which are applicable.

Holy crap, forget this spreadsheet crap. Emulate or find a PC.

    Hell yeah!

I'm mark my calendar for every 3rd Tuesday. See you at the IP Gate.
  10. My Kin/AR spends more time damaging than buffing, but it buffs so good there' not much to do for a while.

Saying a stone tank needs heals is an odd thing. That's like saying a katana/ scrapper needs heals. Whatever green drops is more than enough.

    WoW?
  11. [Correction: I have too many alts and too many projects to try to get a toon leveled up on Triumph.]

Sounds good to me. I'll have to get a fresh toon up that far if I'm going to make it. I think I only have a wee bairn of a tank on Triumph.

    Ooh, another alt.
  12. WHAT? WHAT?

Time to start playing my spine/dark again.
  13. The MLC marketing SG was/is doing a Monday Fire/Rad thing [if all three of us decide/remember to show up [It's in some disrepair]].

I'd love this. I'd bring either a Fire/Rad, not my favorite, or my ill/storm. I might have another controller on Freedom, low level, I don't know.

Very cool. Looking forward to it.

Aside: The way that Tanker Tuesdays meets is they line up on the wall outside the IP gate in KR. It's a good location for it, or having any other location works as long as lowbies don't get slaughtered trying to get there. [And it's not in Atlas.]

Edit: Oh, and another TT thing is when making teams, use the Judge emote to show what level range you are and that makes for easy grouping.Though at TT, usually around 20+ people show up. [first tuesday at 8p on Champion]

Have at it. "Do a cost factor analysis" to make sure you really want to. Don't listen to me. Listen to you.
  15. First off, let me say, I don't like the build I did.

[Edit: eeehr, I exceed the rule of fives three times! It's sackcloth and ashes time.]

Originally I went for Ranged def. You can flip the STs and Crushing to see the Thunder and Mako, but since I missed I put back that I tend to like. [Entropic haters be damned!]

You can also flip the defense sets and it'll still be LotG but with the 7.5. I tried to make this a cheap build. And, I made it as a respec. I would not recommend someone trying to level with this build as I'd put the CJ much before 49.

But, sinec no one else posted one, ta-da:

Heck, if the money's available, fill a swimming pool and swim in it, if that's your thing. I'm a cheapo.

I avoid KC, picking up odd things like the RectRecicule to make up for the lack in Hays. I've only got 2.5b between my 18 or so toons. I can't blow mad cash on one which I'll probably stall in the middle 40s anyway.

For myself, I can't justify Ragnaroks. I can craft them and sell them for a profit, but I can't buy them for myself. Just like I've never bought a LotG +7.5%. I can get rech off many cheap sets. This AT for example, Entropics, Deci, and Posi, and...uh...that tohit one. Other stuff.

If I can cap cheap, why go large unless the damage output is significant? But it's everyone's personal choice.

And none of this really blossoms until the Frozen Armor at 44, so you're close to the Hami's.

While I agree in part, with some ATs there would have to be some serious strategy involved to not faceplant regularly. Though, why would you take empathy if you were not teaming?

My favorite out-of-the-box toon would be a katana/wp scrapper. Read up on them. Divine Avalance allows you to get your melee and lethal defense way past the cap [in theory]. Council will not be able to touch you. You'll only fear the Mu, Spectral Demon Lords, and whatever can take that +60% melee/lethal down to -30% in half a second. I've started carrying an Etherial Shift temp power with Hypershift to back it up. Though I've not used them. I can't die.

Another good one is AR/NRG blaster. There are some good guides on this too. I don't believe in blappers, but this has enough "melee mitigation" to seal the deal for most. Boost Range can be perma. And most sets, Deci and Entropic, or Posi, only need five slots for the good bonuses, leaving you room for procs.

Both ATs have tier ones that can slot the AchHeel proc. I don't think any can slot the turtle slow proc I like.

I've not played one, but I understand that shield/electric tanks are good.

Oh, and Broadsword is the same as Katana, just slower and more powerful, so it balances. Though Parry is no Divine Avanche due to it's slower recharge.

I'd think the positional building off Super Reflexes would be good too. But I like the no worries on endurance from WP too much. Really. Too much. I like it too much.

    That is brilliant.

I'll have to read the wiki and make a spreadsheet so I can get a feel for it.
  21. Wait wait, I think I may have been misunderstanding things all this time.

What I do is consider anything under 100% to be too low. 140% [acc on a power, not boost, actual flat number at the upper right of the window] is about what I like to see.

I thought that this would scale down when I fight higher levels. Like, maybe my 140 would be a 120 for a +1, 100 for a +2, etc.

Is this not how it works? Is everything above 100% wasted?
  22. Good job.

And to all those who say getting 1b is nothing, they haven't worked from the bottom except once. I decided to work another toon from the bottom and quit. The fun was not there.

Now, once you have 1.6b or something, you can make another 400m if you need it in a day or so.

I'm just glad they didn't scale the teacup.

This explains why my level 2 toon, when running across Perigrine Island for a Raptor Pack, survives a sniper shot worth 1200.

I wondered. But it's happened so much I figured there was some pity "last breath" coded in.
