Which stealths stack?

Fairly simple, really; I don't know which stealth options available to a Blaster will stack. Planning on using Devices, so, will Cloaking and Stealth stack at all? I know the stealth IO does, but I'm still a tad confused.

Basically, enough stealth to get into a mob without being seen (For Trip mine, etc etc)

super speed and cloaking device generally stack well enough for you to avoid mobs that don't have high perception checks.

clarified.

Off the top of my head, most of them don't stack (for yourself).

Generally, player stealth powers behave like the pool power stealth.

Turning one on shuts the other off...

That said, in addition to the Stealth IO, other players stealth
auras will stack with yours, and Grant Invisibility (cast by
someone else on you) will stack. Group Invisibility also stacks.

Stalkers can also stack Hide with all of those as well, but
as a Blaster, all you can stack (I think) is SS, Cloaking and a
Stealth IO by yourself.

Also, you may want to check paragonwiki - it's a better source
than my memory...

Super Speed, Hide, Stealth IOs and Grant Invisibility are the only stealth powers that I'm certain stack with anything else. In addition to those you can have one other stealth power affecting you (Cloaking Device, Stealth, Shadowfall etc.).

I'm not sure certain if Group Invisibility and the various Stealth granting temporary powers are stackable or not.

Alrighty, thanks much.
So, is smoke grenade and cloaking device enough to stack to make you, briefly at least, invisible to the mob you smoked?
Thinking of a concept char, and wondering if it's feasible or not worth bothering with.

It most certainly is! If I recall correctly most bosses and high-perception mobs have a perception of 45'. Smoke Grenade will send that way below Cloaking Device's 35 feet. In fact, the only things you won't be able to stealth aren't going to be helped by more stealth anyway.

Smoke Grenade takes Advanced Drones down to like 5.5' I think. Something within melee range. With that in mind, I just keep out of melee range of anything that'll see through stealth once I've smoked them.

Yep, in fact Smoke Grenade alone is enough to evade most mobs. I regularly use it to get guarded glowies (where stealth doesn't work due to suppression).

Hmm, duly noted. Thanks guys =]

Just for further clarification:

Stealth and Shadow Fall/Steamy Mist will not stack, but....Stealth and someone else's Shadow Fall/Steamy Mist WILL stack.

I never knew that. That's very useful.

Keep in mind, in terms of Stealth there are some enemies that just don't care what you have covering you, they See You.

As I recall, stealth is divided into four groups:

1) Stealth powers (cloaking device)
2) Somebody else's stealth powers (steamy mist)
3) Stealth as a side-effect (super speed)
4) Stealth IOs.

Stealth from any one group will stack with stealth from the other groups.

As was mentioned by Gilia, these are affected by -Perception powers (Smoke Grenade, Flash Arrow, etc.) allowing you to sneak by them so long as you don't get too close.

There's 5.

Stalker Hide is it's own group. It will stack with all 4.

Easy way to think about it:

  • Any purely stealth power toggle turns off the other.
  • SS has stealth as a side effect, no untoggle.
  • IOs don't care about anything. IOs ftw.
[edited to add: and don't trust another person's stealth]

Plus the 2 min latentcy of the IO lets you do fun things like take screenshots of yourself in the dead room in AE with the dialag of the lady saying there's no powers allowed being read through your body.

SS+IO is the most cost effective. Stealth+IO if you run into walls with SS [me]. SS+Stealth if you think the IO is too expensive [just put a bid on the IO recipe a few weeks before you need it for a stupid-low amount and you'll probably get it. And the low lev IOs, thinking of Unbounded Leap, are cheap and have supercheap salvage.

The clock looking TP stealth IO is cheaper and more prevalent than dirt. But will only get you 2 min between tps. Though it doesn't require you to get TPing yourself, you can Recall Friend and it will stealth you. Mucho cheap, but kinda weird.

I think there's a flight stealth, so you could hover around...ooh, neat ghost concept.

[added: The hover would also keep you from "stubbing your toe" and removing your stealth for 10 seconds. Pretty handy.]

All stealth powers will stack with any other stealth power. It's really just a matter of which toggles will disable other toggles.

Exactly. Though you'd probably never do this, don't expect Concealment-Stealth to stack with Devices-Cloaking Device. Both are toggles, and one will shut off the other. Which one is better? CD.

I know Zombie already pointed to the wiki, but a simpler answer is anything + the IO or Sup Invis. And adding the IO to Sup is pointless.

At that point, the best stealth is not stubbing your toe and losing it for 10 seconds.

Edited to Add: Or Hide.
