Cancelling subscription?

Basically, I just purchased a month of time for CoX. I don't want the payment to recur - if I immediately cancel the subscription, can I still play CoX and post on the forums? The message it gives me is a bit misleading. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you will continue to be able to play the game and use the forums until your account reaches the "Playable Until" date on your game account page.

Y'know Gray, he might not be leaving for good. He might just not want to be automatically billed every month because his finances are tight at the moment or he might want to use time cards instead. Or, he might be taking a break, or he might be a member of the military who is about to be deployed overseas. There are any number of reasons why he might not want to be billed for next month with the intent to come back at a later date.

Unless he says something like, "Screw this noise this game sucks i quitz!!11" then you're not allowed to ask "4 hiz stuffz."

I like to cancel every month so that I can fill out the customer survey and complain about pvp. What? I do. Well ok not every month, but more often than I would if satisfied with the system.

To the OP:

If, as Chad suggested, you just want to pay one month at a time, and you have a PayPal account, you can use PayPal to set up a one-time payment, alleviating the need to go through the steps of cancelling. There is a fee for using PayPal, but it's so small that when I've already got a currency exchange factored in, I don't even notice if it's paid by the purchaser (you) or the seller (NCSoft).

Just one more option on the table for you.

Oh.... i can haz ur stufz? i m way koolr den graystar iz!

No paypal, I just brought a month to test out my new card. Thanks for the advice though

Maybe off topic: Don't leave anything bidding or selling at WW while you're gone. The bid and sale will dissapear along with your money or item after 60 days.

I thought they changed that, and removed the time limit. Of course, they are about to totally change the server-side of the market, along with switching to an (ugly) new interface, which is almost certainly going to cause all kinds of havoc with the market.

They removed the 60 day limit on active accounts. That means that if you unsubscribe, the 60 day rule comes back into effect until you resub.

I just unsubbed for about 4 months and came back to find all my auction items intact (and many sold wohoo!). It was a pleasant surprise as last time I took a break I lost about 10 lotg +rech and other stuff I had "stored" in my market inventory.

I've had that happen too, but the official "how it works" is that anything over 60 days can be deleted, if your account is inactive, and I have also lost items while my account was unsubscribed just as often as I've come back to them still there

I'll take that under advisement the next time I take a break. I kinda just thought they did away with the 60day deal as long as your account was in good standing (as in you weren't booted from the game).

I won't leave things on there next time if I'm just rolling the dice on that one heh. It was nice to come back and have about 600M in sales waiting on me though
