  1. Regarding which is the best to concentrate on, it's going to be defense because you can't concentrate on Resistance except to take Tough, the shield power in your APP if you have one, and any other power that helps resistance. There essentially are no sets that help your Resistance.

Most ATs lend themselves to certain things. One defense strategy will be easier than the other. Usually you can only get 50% or so Resist in S/L or capped in something like Energy if you are Electric Armor.

Def is nice, but it's rolling the dice. Resistance always works.

Yeah, I can see you're point [that I snipped out], but man, I hate them. I guess since I kinda dig CoT these days that BP have falled into the least favorite, most hated group...except for Warwolves when I depend on slows. But no one is going to farm Warwolves.
  3. Re: Regen
I guess I got confused by your first post. [Second paragraph, first sentence.]
  4. How can you be slotting for regen when you wont' even let Health get enhanced?

It's 79% with three common IOs...but, then again...slots are scarce.
  5. Are you not using Contagious Confusion?

Nah, 8 is great. Twelve is better, but no biggie. And if you level, or did level as we ran last night, running to the trainer at 12 is totally acceptable.

    I was Kaylee Foxtrot btw.
  7. Looks great.

I think I'd put Rect Reticule in Build Up rather than slot all of Enfeeble. Seems like wasting slots. And one of my new kicks is two slotting Hurdle, look at the math on it. Blows away CJ [but not the immob.] Losing Enfeeble makes Hasten down for 20.8 seconds rather than 19.4. And I don't use the single target immobs.

I'd lose something to take aim. I pop aim and build-up at the same time. Make Rain a good damage power. And speaking or rain, I'd lose the Microfilament and chuck in a proc or recharge. I like to lead with it. And if you can aim+bu+rain+fireball+breath you'll annoy the scrappers cause it'll all be dead.

And, while I've never had a /fire blaster, on my fire/ controller I slot Hot Feet for end and damage. My acc comes from globals.

But this is just me. You're build is fine. I think you won't have endurance problems.

    that was odd

You can't delete a thread you started but you can delete a post.
  9. Please tell me you took that stupid Nemesis gun decoration I put on the wall near the entry portal and couldn't get down. It shames me everytime I see it.

Are we maxxed on salvage storage? I keep having to delete stuff like Iron and some of the books. I could let books spread to another rack, but I'm trying to keep it organized so folks [me] can just run to the rack they know the medical stuff or stuff-that-looks-like-soulbound-armor is at.
  10. I keep a running bid for 10x Good Luck at 666 per on one of my toons. She always has around 50 or so as she's a katana and needs the oomph to get her defense up at the beginning of a fight.

I'm one of the people who wastes inspirations, blasting them all at once, when I get to WW so I can fit my GLs.

And I know, GL is sometimes worth much more, sometimes much less. It's the much less when I get them as I don't need them right now.

I can't justify the price difference between a teir 2 and 3. Maybe if I was squishier and was doing a long mish so that I couldn't carry what I needed easily.

And for heals, etc, look into temporary powers. There are some great ones. I keep a phase on my toons [also get Hyperphase from Warburg] and I'm planning on keeping the endurance one around. It'd allow me to play something besides /wp all the time. [though I love me some /wp]

I only use def and accuracy. I also combine three a lot into them. If you don't have empty slots for new insp, you won't get any new insp.
  11. Fulmens is right.

Also, you'll find niches that work. I did LotG D/R for ages and then it dried up. Once you get a billion, you won't worry about money. It's really easy to make money once you have it.

Farmers will give you their money since usually they don't craft. So, it might cost me 13m to craft something I sell for 20m. Or, 70m for something I sell for 90m.

And while some people see that % for a 70m -> 90m to be lousy. It's still 20m. What will kill you is if something sells very slow as you only have so many slots.

Eventually, you'll buy and sell purples to idiot farmers. Life is good.

*not all farmers are idiots. Most are smart. But the ones that are not still make mad cash and give it to you when they are in "buy it NAO!" mode.

I probably accidentally did this. As I live in Sup Invis mode on my ill/storm.

Also, as soon as I posted that, kept Jane alive on a 7x fire/rad controller team last night.
  14. Well, we chewed up Midnighters. We only had three deaths all attributed to separation from the group. Mine was because I went afk and an ambush spawned on the other side of my safe location.

Lady Jane didn't die, though it made no difference. And now we can all get into the Midnighters club, woot.

No screenshot, I wasn't thinking about it.
  15. I figure we'll just dork around with the radio after Midnighters as it's quick.

We were doing Carnies with the Radio last week, I think, and getting toward the Illusionist badge really fast.
  16. No Hasten or Energy Torrent makes me cry.

OP, you really have to look up the powersets separately for this build. It seems every AT I make I have to do that. Which means I'm unique, as this toon will be.

I'm just winging it with this build. Making it from scratch.

I'm going to go for recharge and combat mobility. Since I got some random advice off a channel, I will, if possible, always slot Hurdle twice. I see no need to take Weave or shoot for defense on a blaster unless I go heavy on the melee or take ice armor, which I won't as I like my costume.

    In this:
    • I'm trying to be as massively cheap as possible. You may not care about this, but I always start this way and work to better it. [Edited to add - Crap, I forgot to go back and give the Entropics a fifth slot. You could do Decimation if you wanted then, it's pretty healthy with just five slots.]
    • And speaking of which, you can flip the slotting of Nova and Thunder Strike to Oblits, each will make Hasten come up two seconds quicker. I thought this was a false economy, so I slotted for what I wanted. And you'll notice that I didn't care about Thunder Strike's recharge really. Hopefully you won't be using it much. Being an energy blaster, it'll be hard not knocking foes into the next county.
    • Double slotted Hurdle gets you faster and higher than CJ, but I kept CJ to slot slow resist, the Kismet +6%, and your kb protection in. This could be changed, and if you wanted the +Stealth IO I put into SS in the 50 spot could be changed to a Unbounded Leap and stuck in CJ so you could enjoy it earlier.
    • As it is, Hasten is down for 19 seconds, gauranteed to be at the wrong time. It's a major mistake to not take Hasten on a blaster. No blaster is fast enough to skip it. No blaster is fast enough even with it. You can never be fast enough.
The build which I cranked out, and while I seem to like it, I'm sure on closer examination I'll think my build sucks.

  17. I would have said ill/rad or fire/rad.
  18. Postagulous

    Fire Rad

8 pm Central on the dirt hill in Talos.

Tonight, not being a holiday, we'll probably get two teams. I'll take the low ones, or ones who don't have Midnighters, to do Midnighters. Hyperstrike1 will probably do some TF. We're getting enough above 35 that I'm going to want to do an all fire/rad ITF. Though I need to look up what those Romans are resistant to. If it's disorient, slows, etc, maybe it will be a challenge.

I think we can keep Lady Jane alive with 8x Frads. We just need to get coordinated with our AMs so no one gets left out and throw Flashfire first, that's mostly aimed toward me, as I start thinking I'm a scrapper.

  20. I've got a simple and cheap plan to cap all positions for my BS/SR without depending on Parry. This uses IOs, obviously, and doesn't gimp anything except maybe some recharge, if I remember correctly.

She's stalled in her low 20s now. I started a BS/SD just in case the rumors are true that the infamous Shield Charge is going to get nerfed. I personally think they have bigger fish on their plate [or whatever colloquialism.]

I'm not really that structured. We'll see who shows. I'd suspect plenty since it's not a holiday, etc.
  23. What others have said...adding...
    • I've helped people by getting on a TF with them so they could start it and then quit. Never for a solo, usually for a duo.
    • Snag a +stealth IO rather than waste a power on stealth. Unbounded leap is the cheapest non-click. You could get a dirt cheap teleport one and put it in rec-foe, but you'd need to do it every 2 min. An alternative is to use hyperphase and SS at the same time. Or Etherial shift. Each only lasts 30 seconds but you can't be hit.
    • If solo, I can see taking every power in every power in both sets.
    • I do reccomend the NR pack. I've only taken travel powers on high level respecs since then. Also, if you haven't bought a Raptor Pack, by crafting or FBZ, they're nice for safe navigation of dangerous zones and vertical movement.
    • The only, ONLY time I managed to keep Lady Jane alive in the Midnighters arc I soloed it with and ill/storm controller. I think Ill/ is one of the best mish soloers due to the ability for Phantom Army to distract while you do the glowy, and sup invis is the best invisibility blue side in one power.
Well, I'm off topic. Good luck.
  24. Re: Werner
I really hope you're right about SR blossoming at some point, because sub 25 it blows.
  25. What Claws said, but I prefer to get all FC and EN to 40%. I haven't done the math with what enemies show up with what and if that 5% trade off [I know it means double will hit, but I actually run a katana] but it just feels better when you're against CoT.

My issue is my psi/ranged hole.

That said, being surrounded by whatever, them swinging and missing 90% of the time, healing faster than they could ever hit. It's amazing.

Plus, I hate being out of endurance.

Somewhat controversial: Get Vengeance from the pools, as you will never be the first to die.
