Praetorian is not exactly a "third side". Praetorians are Heroes or Villains, it's just that you don't decide at level 1.

For a Praetorian, I take it as a yes. You have to choose hero or villain so the "game" knows where you can go on Primal Earth (Paragon City or Rogue Isles). Once there, it's up to you if you want to stay Hero or Villains, or shift toward the "gray" area and be Vigilantes or Rogues.

I guess people can stay in the gray area forever, by balancing their good and bad actions so it doenst shift completely one side or the other.

    1) Lets say you make a Praetorian character and you decide to be a hero. Then you operate like a Hero, you go to Paragon City. From there, you can stay hero, or go vigilante, or completely shift to villain.

    2) Not sure about that, if you can select to be hero or villainbeforelevel 20. The only thing we know for sure is that you have to decide (hero/Villain) before you can get out of Praetoria, and that it must be done by level 20.
  4. The closest you can have to a hero brute is start a new character as Praetorian, slect Brute Archetype. Join the resisitance and select Hero at (or before) level 20 and you have access to Paragon City. Don't do bad stuff and stay a hero

Staying "gray" probably means when you go to the other side that you cannot do missions there, unless you get in a team doing that particular arc, etc. You probably wont be able to flashback too since a Vigilante would go to the blue side Ouroboros, and a Rogue will go to the red side Ouroboros.

In PvP zones, I would also guess they are still considered Hero for vigilantes, and villain for rogues. That is unles there is more, like all the Spy stuff that was mentionned in the surver of 1+ year ago.

As for the buying cheap at WW, and selling high on BM, I don't think that will be done easily. It is not a "light switch" and has comsequences. To sell on the other side, you have to make a complete shift (hero to villain, or vice versa). I think it was mentionned you lose all your Inf if you make a complete switch. You will probably be booted out of your SG/VG. Making a full switch might be several redeeming/corrupting missions or arcs and while Posi said you can swtich to the other side as much as you want, itmight be more time consuming if you switch often in a short period. Roleplay wise. people giving you missions would not trust you too much etc, etc...

    Man, if January can arrive...
  5. Okay, here goes: Arc ID 292449 The Shadow of Eihbon
  6. Darrin Wade is part of a nihillistic cult that wants to bring Rularuu into our world. There's a book in the Midnight Club about them, the Rulu-Shins. Darrin Wade and the Rulu-Shins is probably a set-up for the Shadow Shard revamp when (if) they do it eventually.

As for the Dream Doctor... well, I think he is in the Shadow Shard sleeping. He keeps Rularuu imprisonned in his dream or something like that. I hope they will explore that storyline eventually.
  7. Like about everyone else, I failed that mission the first time I played it. But since then, I have played it often and never failed it. You need to defeat Silver Mantis and rescue the reporter only, with at least one generator still intact.

If you get into a certain distance from a generator, Nemesis will start attacking it. So moving around quickly is very bad, you will trigger everything.

First goal is to find Silver Mantis and defeat her. Some Generators will get destroyed but its not important. Once this is done, find the reporter. She's always in the middle more or less. Once you find her, defeat the Nem guarding her and the mission ends. You should be able to do this without triggering the Nemesis and the Generator on the opposite side of the map from where you start.

The problem with this mission is the AOE attacks of the Nemesis. Even if the Vanguards agro them, the explosions are damaging the generators. The solution would probably be to increase the health of the generators.
  8. Hehe, the first time I bugged it was during CoV Beta

One way I found around this is to use your mini map. Go to the mission location on it, and zoom in as much as you can so you can pinpoint the exact building. It wil point to the exact door. The same trick works for that other mission in St Martial too.
  9. Would it be a good idea for an Energy Blaster to slot this proc in almost, if not all, all the attacks? You would then almost have the recharge bonus active all the time. And more importanlty, if it comes from different powers, can several +100% recharge stack together?
  10. Happened to me too in Brickstown during a Manticore Taskforce. We had to petition it so a GM could come and auto-complete the mission. The way I see it is, although the AE buildings replaced old buildings, it seems some of those old doors can still be given for missions.

For reference if the actual mission is important, our mission was the timed one: Defeat security chief, his men - 1:30:00, the one where we must defeat Security Chief Manning.
  11. I will be there at 2pm Est. for sure. While Issue 16 was uber amazing, I hunger for new content.
  12. First post after a Robokitty!

I will be there saturday for the fun!
  13. Yeah they ditched the "mirror universe" for Praetoria, it is now a divergent timeline. Praetoria Earth history is basically the same as ours, Primal Earth history. The difference occured when Cole and Richter opened up Pandora's Box in 1896. Instead of becoming Statesman and being good, Marcus Cole went bad and became Tyrant. Unknown what happened to Richter in Preatoria Earth at this point.

The devs said from that point, they rewrote the history till today. Has event X happened? Is so then this would have happened and so on.

This should be interesting. Really can't wait to have more news about Going Rogue.

Prime Clockworks are not robots. They are only "toys" that should not move, fly, fight, or otherwise. They are merely animated by the psychic powers of the Clockwork King, a mad psychic who thinks he is the greatest robotician ever.

Why the Praetorian Clockworks looked like Prime Clockworks in game? Maybe they were designed quickly by modifying existing art and so on back then when Peregrine Island was introduced, who knows. Those new Praetorain Clockworks look awesome compared to the old ones anyway. I'm just hoping we can get those pieces eventually in game as costume options... I need that torso for one of my brute.
Of course, I'm assuming that Clockwork is the creations of Anti-Matter, not a "Praetorian Clockwork King".
  15. Happening on Virtue now. Got a bunch of messages like:

Error: received LEAVE cmd for channel Virtuebadges09 that does not exist on client

Half my channles are renamed. Virtue shows up as Vi Au in global friends, as well as in "new" channel names. For Exemple, Virtue's LRSF shows up as Vi Au 's LRSF.

  17. The mission will be set to "team size difficulty" of the mission owner, or number of people in the team, whichever is higher.

    -PlayerA with diff of x1
    -PlayerB with diff of x3
    -PlayerC with diff of x4
    -PlayerD with diff of x8

If this team does a mission from player A, B, or C then the spawn will be set for a team of 4. If it does a mission from PlayerD, the mission will be set for a team of 8.
  18. Wow. Thanks for all the typos found, Airhead. They are all fixed now.

About the "Generic" I have no idea since I though it was a custom group I made with recolored Guide renamed Lesser Runebreaker, to make sure only them would be with the Runebreakers instead of any CoT. There is no other custom units in the group, only "existing" ones. The only thing I could see is the 4th mission. The enemy group on that map is Empty. There is a Boss detail (O'Oi'Muh'Ur) and the group with him is also Empty.

And about that same mission, the greater risks is simply an allusion to the lore with Darrin Wade and the Rulu-Shin, the cult that wants to bring Rularuu into our dimension. I will re-verify the text but how it goes is that when you meet Darrin, you use the Gemstone and you see the bodyguard near him.

Will make the 5th mission more clear. Ideally, if we would have more options, Grand Runebreaker Umgol'Tep would surrender (turn blue) at 1/4 health and become an escort you would have to bring to the Casket. This mission is a little more lively now, with added battles here in there. I will most surely upgrade Emil to EB status, most people find him too easy after the battle with the Grand Runebreaker.

There's a few more things that are bugging me, notably in the 2nd mission. If you're far from the last kill of the Family Boss group (the ally kills him), you dont get the clue. I made this encounter Boss only. The other thing is if you defeat the last family guarding the Skull and you're too far from said skull, you don't get the Skull clue too.

Thanks Ravius about the kind word for the Skulls. Initially, it was more or less the same story but they were Hellions. This all changed when I bought the Magic Booster Pack.

Bedtime for me now. See you around.
  19. Looking for feedbacks on The Shadow of Eihbon (arc ID 292449).

First published today. Looking also for comments on typo and "strange' sentences as english is not my native language. I tried to keep it solo firendly so everything you face in it is Boss level at max (lieutnants level is you play at Diff 1). I would not say it is still easy, depending on your AT/Powers and your experience.

I hope you will enjoy it. If people find it too easy overall, I might upgrade the final boss to EB.
  20. Well, count me in among those who appreciate your work with this project. I'm so happy my Spines Scrapper (born in 2004 ) will be finally able to get the Thorn spines... And my Storm/Elec Defender will finally have lightnings that will match with those in Storm Summoning. And, well... I go could on and on.

Again, thank you. Can't wait for Issue 16.
  21. Best. Raid. Ever!

I'm still amazed by what we did. I thought we would get slaughtered quickly once on the ship, but we held our own and did not team wipe once.

And my Fire Blaster did not die either, hehe. The adrenalin rush was probably as high as when we did the 9 minutes Hamidon raid last January.
  22. Photonstorm

    AE- I'm very sad

Here's the trick to run taskforces and strikeforces:

    1) Start the team yourself instead of waiting for others.

    2) Do a Search Channels (with the name of your forums, or sort them by most members, etc...) and add yourself to them. I play on Virtue and I use Virtuebadges09; VU2009; Virtue TFs; Virtue LFG; Virtue's LRSF; 2 other channels pertaining to Architect; and 3 other channels that are private that I got invited (2 of about 20 members, and one of 200 members).

There's always team forming for SFs and TFs and Raids and whatnot if you use channels. That's why you dont see people gathering around the contacts very often. Teams are already made up, and the leader go see the contact, click it, and go away.
  23. The cutthroat backstabber. In a Villain group, there's always one who wants to get rid of the boss and rule in his stead.
  24. Synapse = Marathon
    Manticore = Orion
    Citadel = Parthenon

    Dont remember the other ones
  25. I'm all for the changes suggested in this thread, but I have one request...

[u]Don't[u] change the ambushes in the last mission. This is way too much fun, even if we team-wipe and have to get back in.
