Global chat problems?
Individual channels are working intermittently, but global lists are dead. in addition, we haz new text error!
The chatsystem has taken to off-and-on replacing the string 'nd' with random letters. For example, jsut recently typing the sequence 'band bandage bandaid'r esulted in:
baar baarage baaraid
Sweet, huh?
Things to remember:
-Common sense ain't;
-Overkill is the only kill;
-If someone asks if you're a god, run away.
There's more.
Phantom members are appearing in global channels, with a very similar name but missing a letter or a changed letter or two.
I suspect the bugs are related.
nd is the letter combination?
Confirmed. nd is occasionally replaced by ar, in any form of text. Including global names.
More info:
en is sometimes replaced by the letters De. Including capitalization.
So ennd = Dear
Someone screwed something up bigtime.
Well, it's nice to know i wasn't imagining the global chat issues.
Chat problems always seem to happen after an Issue release. Castle once explained how convulted the chat system isw because of decisions made when originally implemented, and how difficult it would be (basically starting from scratch) to fix it all so this stopped happening.
They will fix it, hopefully sooner rather than later. The Chat system still works better than most other games out there.

We are looking into it, thanks for the heads up.

"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
I saw something similar today when part of a friend's global turned from "Frost" to "d ort" (with the space). The lower-case "o" was the only unaffected character in the string. The first part of his global (it's two words) was normal. Oh, this only appeared on the channel listing screen, -not- in the actual chat pane. I asked the friend to check and he was seeing the same thing at his end.
This isn't a new I16 bug however. I saw a similar bug a week or so before the issue launch where all uppercase "U"s disappeared from my interface. It persisted when logging two different heroes but disappeared when I logged a villain on the same account.

Seems to have cleared up after the downtime.
Happening on Virtue now. Got a bunch of messages like:
Error: received LEAVE cmd for channel Virtuebadges09 that does not exist on client
Half my channles are renamed. Virtue shows up as Vi Au in global friends, as well as in "new" channel names. For Exemple, Virtue's LRSF shows up as Vi Au 's LRSF.

I feel like a dumb noob becasue i can't figure out how to (re)join any channels. There's no option for it =(

Yeah.. global chat server seems to be unstable. Sometime the letter substitution bug shows up again, only with different sets of letters.
Global chat server seems to be horribly broken at the moment. I have no global friends list and about one in four messages actually makes it through to any global channel.
Has anyone else reported this problem?
