1. Heh, I like how the explanation of the universe is based on the game code.

I think you could have about half of the Troll's speech relegated to background noise while Stan and Lou have their own (amusing) conversation in the foreground, and have them throw in the bug question near the end of the Troll's speech.

Also, a few background sounds wouldn't hurt. Like, when they are commenting on the "big troll" that's coming towards them, you could add some thudding footfalls getting closer, and perhaps some sound effects as the scarab is being moved around.

Awaiting more episodes! =^_^=
2. Incidently, there's a mission in CoH in which you tackle Freaks that are trying to learn magic. They're not very good, but they do that ritual emote (with the exploding cloud) that CoT do.

Wonderful list, though. I was wondering who dropped what, level range, and stuff. I wish it was easier to get lower level salvage for my high level characters though, since it's cheaper to make the lower level IOs that it is for the level 50 ones. <_<
3. I like that there's now a continuing story going on. I mean, there sort of was before, as the duo were moving from area to area, but now with that scarab.... >_>

I'll echo with the echo comments. I could understand the Vahz guy the last time, but it was a lot harder this time around. I understood Stan and Lou, but the Vahz guy has a thick accent which makes it tougher to distinguish among the sewer noises.

I like the "we take, we don't give" comment about Azuria.
4. Heh, how can he be so smart about radiation and yet so stupid over rock/paper/scissors.

I'm guessing that the next part will be the result of that open box? >_>
5. Yay, more Stan-Lou conversations! =^_^=

Which brings to mind the next question.... who are the voices? =O_o= Are you both characters, or just one, or are both of them somebody else? >_>

*perches on Hertz like a shoulder kitty* m=O_O=m
6. Okay, I finally listened to the first three last night, and the two new ones today. Great stuff, Hertz. It's like an Olde Timey radio program. No pictures are needed, as you can just "see" it all in your mind's eye. >_>

However, a bit of a complaint on the sewers one. <_< This one is a bit different from the others in that instead of just the two of them talking about what just happened/is going to happen/hope to have happen, there is, instead, another person that they (or, rather, just one) interacts with. I guess I'm just missing the amusing conversations between the two of them, since it's the Mort that is delivering the gag lines, instead of our main characters. Just my two peppermints worth.

Hope to hear more! =^_^=\m/
7. Ah, geez, Posi, can you guys just give us an easy way for one of our characters to give another one of our own characters some inf? <_<

I mean, it's great that the inf amount will be increased (makes those 20-30 transfers go by a heck of a lot quicker), but requiring a third party to do this is getting kinda old. The consignment houses looked like a good way to help out our alts, especially on other servers, but I guess the only workaround is to sell some item that currently isn't offered, then quickly switch to a wealthy alt, before somebody puts the same item up for a much lower price. >_>
8. You know, last year I thought this event was pretty spiffy. We got to team up with "the other side", we got door missions in Pocket D (which was still new), and heroes got to visit a piece of the Rogue Islands (and a nice island it is), while villains got to take down a ton of Red Caps (not to mention the first Elite Boss Red Cap).

However, this year....

1. No reward for just logging in.

2. Exact same event as last year.

3. The only new things added (extra rewards), required doing the final mission over and over.

This past Winter Event was an example of a well-done event. I mean, the whole Chalet was grand, there was a snow-covered map (finally!), a mess of new badges (with nifty temp powers/costume pieces), and a log-in costume piece reward (with badge). Then they capped it by adding outdoor presents and even the potential for getting the original Winter Lord Giant Monster to spawn. All in all, a great event.

But if we get the exact same thing next year... well.... it just won't seem that great anymore. <_<

That's what happened with the Valentine's Event this year. Same ol', same ol'.

I think if we had a log-in reward (Partygoer badge, perhaps, with the heart costume pattern), that would have taken care of many issues (log in some alts, get a reward, move along). And though the teaming with heroes/villains is great, requiring it can be rough, especially with all the farming teams (why aren't the cold-based CoT villain-only badges?).

I can imagine that future events could have some spiffy rewards, since the Invention system will be out then (I wouldn't be surprised if the Halloween salvage was originally meant to be Invention salvage that we make our own slots with), so let's hope next Valentine's Event (if there is one), can be something different.
9. Smoke Grenade's "fix" went in with Issue 2. I know because I had an energy/device blaster, and leveled quite a bit by smoking a large mob, then blasting them silly, since they had very little chance to hit me back.

Issue 2 sort of nixed that.
10. Stacking desks on... desks? =0_o=

I'm sure there will be plenty of cool things coming out for CoH/CoV in the next few updates, but I just wonder about all the cool things we heard about from the early pre-Beta days....
13. =0_o=

This thread must've just respec'd into a self-rez power. <_<

I was going to post, after reading some of the "why didn't anybody think of this" threads, that somebody did in fact think of this some time ago, and posted it here. <_<

Of course, that would be this very thread. =^_^=

Although I wouldn't bother doing this for a lengthy amount of time, I've used this technique for those annoying street hunting missions, where the only thing I can find is a couple of levels above me (like Council in Founders, when I'm only 30).

SafeGuard Guide

Well, those are the levels they are supposed to be, but, yeah, it doesn't always work that way.

At level 10, your KR detective should give the KR safeguard, and I've gotten it that way. Other people, however, say they still get Atlas Park, and if they earn a safeguard from the Steel/Skyway Detective while they are level 10, they'll still get Atlas Park. =0_o=

In CoV, at level 10, your Oakes broker will give you the KR mayhem, but your Cap broker will give the Atlas mayhem. <_<

I'm not sure why it waffles like this. Is it "by design", or just an unfixed bug? >_>

SafeGuard Guide

Some additional information:

Zone - level range - # of sides - reward:

Atlas Park (5-9) - 2 side missions - Raptor Pack reward
Kings Row (10-14) - 2 side mission - Jump Pack reward
Skyway (15-19) - 2 side missions - Self-rez power
Steel Canyon (20-24) - 3 side missions - Summon Team
Indy Port (25-29) - 3 side missions - Speed increase
Talos (30-34) - 4 side missions - Endurance increase
Brickstown (35-39) - 4 side missions - Health increase
Founders (40-44) - 5 side missions - Debt reduction
Peregrine (45-50) - 5 side missions - Regen increase

As mentioned above, villains that are "doing something", have keys to the side missions:

Arson - holding torches
Sewer Bombing - carrying large barrel bombs
Weapons Deal - holding boxes and crates
Jailbreak - threatening a PPD officer
Store Robbery - carrying goods, like a stereo

If you don't get a temp power from the Weapons Deal, it's only because the randomly given one is a type you already have. Alas, you can't increase usage of a temp power by getting another identical one. >_> Also note, that whoever clicks the box gets the prize, so if you're teaming, if the mission owner doesn't get to click glowies by default, it should be made clear who gets the power, to avoid arguements.

Badge-Hunter and Vidiotmaps have badge locations and maps of the safeguards, with locations of keys shown.
16. It's Penelope's final mission, which will net you the Rescuer badge. The SOs in the store are 13, 17, and 21, which means you could buy them for a level 10 alt or friend.

However, the types of SOs are limited to only one type per origin:

Mutant/Natural - damage
Tech - Endurance Reducer
Magic - Accuracy
Science - Recharge
17. I think the "more risk" means that they have to get into melee, but blasters can stand at a distance and fight. The ol' "range as defense" arguement, which was semi-okay, back when many mobs had only a pistol, or single slow-recharge range attack (Freaks didnt' throw buzzsaw blades, Wolves didn't chuck rocks). <_<

21. I've noticed that when I first got my Bruiser, he would run very low, if not out, of endurance while fighting large spawns (or against multiple bosses). However, once I gave him an end reducer SO, he goes for a much longer time without issue.

Here's a real kicker of a glitch. Was doing Frostfire and the mission had no ice or fire effects during the whole mission on the wals or floors. But the whole team was still slipping and sliding on.....bare carpeted floors.

[/ QUOTE ]
Along the same lines - all the graphics are missing in the Shadow Shard molepoints, as are the sand bags in Portal Corp.

[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I think there's some missing or broken textures. Remember that very early mission to stop the Skulls from attacking a rave, the custom mission map that got re-used for Paragon Dance Party? A lot of the textures were missing from it, too. None of the laser beams showed up, the bar was invisible, and the chain link fence around one area on the dance floor was invisible. Solid items were still solid, I kept bumping into them, but they couldn't be seen. (Nvidia 6600GT, driver 91.47 if it matters.)

[/ QUOTE ]

There's a lot of invisible decorations right now. Portal Lab map (Angus's first mission) is missing all the portals in various stages of construction, the Skull Dyne Lab is missing the vats and tables, the Hellions hideout is missing the puzzleboxes, etc.

Stuff it still there, as you can stand on it, run into it, and get line-of-sight errors from it, you just can't see it. <_<
23. No, it's only been Leather so far. <_<
24. While this is great news (and I hope it's one token per slot), I'm curious about what actually got changed in I8, since the previous patch on Sept. 20th.

I mean, in late October, after finally getting the 5th costume slot on my main, I re-created her original outfit for the first slot (it had been the Retro costume, from the PD contest months ago). Even with the name changes, and all, that occured in I7, I was able to make the costume just as it used to look.

However, logging her into I8 today, a look at the costume in Icon shows that Metallic body, face 15 (female), triange eye mask, cat ears, and one of the stripe patterns don't register. That is, something got changed to all of those pieces, so that I have to re-make the costume all over again.

Okay, I know that Details 1-Cat Ears went to the Ears tab (unless you have a hood or half helmet, then it's still Details 1), but none of the other pieces should have been changed. In fact, they are still there, in the same place, as they were in I7's code.

I like having new costume pieces, I like fixes to said costume pieces, and I certainly don't mind free costume tokens, but I'm curious as to what's causing all these costume discrepancies on pieces that don't seem to have changed at all. =0_o=

*hides inna box* [o_o]

I did some scanner missions today, and discovered that, in addition to bank robberies and jailbreaks, there are store robberies too! Never got one on Test, and mine was for a Jewelry store (which took place in a warehouse-like building, but no matter). It was a nice change of pace, and a different map to play on (for heroes, at least, since it's just the Smash & Grab map for villains).
