I will be moving nearly all my villains heroside, for one reason only. Wentworth's is much better supplied than the BM. I'm tired of trying to buy IO's, only to find none available, and last sale dates that are weeks old.
Of course, the devs could fix that little problem if they merged the markets... -
If that's the case though, it should tell you that the search term is too short, not return a "No matches" result. That is misleading, and I'm not sure I've ever seen a forum search engine that worked like that...

Quote:This is the single best reason to use common IO's. No wasting time running around every few levels replacing worn out enhancements. Slot 'em and forget about 'em. From day one, DO's & SO's never made sense to me compared to IO's.I tend to start using Common IOs at level 22 (using lv25 IOs); they're about the same as an SO (the best enhancements available before the invention system and before you were level 47), and I don't have to replace them *ever*.
Quote:However, IOs are more expensive than SOs are. -
Quote:Agreed 100%. Full stealth is absolutely critical for this, at least if you want to get it done at a decent pace.I forgot who mentioned it before or who I got the idea from, but having the Stealth proc in Sprint is INVALUABLE when exemping down for that TF...
Quote:I have a friend who actually solos the Posi every single night, but the catch is that he's a dual-blade/regen scrapper who is completely purpled/PvP IO'd out. Oh, and it only takes him an hour to do the whole thing by himself. -
I've been using a Nova form PB specifically built for solo Positron ever since merits came out. PB's are excellent choices for soloing this TF, due to a number of reasons. Energy damage is not resisted by any of the enemies (and CoT ghosts are actually weak to energy dmg), the ability to hover out of melee range, unsupressed flight in combat, inherent endurance recovery while in Nova & Dwarf form & the ability to slot for good ranged defense. On top of all that, with the new exemplaring rules, a PB now has access to Dwarf form's heal for this TF. All in all, a very powerful combo. One of the best out there for this, in my opinion.

Quote:Took me less than 2 minutes to pull these up by typing in nothing more complex than "fire" in the search box for the blaster forum.i tried the search function BEFORE! posting and havn't found anything.

There were plenty more. There were also dozens of threads about fire blasters in general, and quite a few about mental manipulation as a secondary.
Quote:Yes i posted it twice as there was no answer the first time, and im sorry i dont have all the time in the world to make my own builds as i dont have the time to research io's etc,
They got responses to their threads. You did not. Can you see why that might have been?

Quote:if u were ill would u just expect to go to the doctors and get free advice and help handed to you on a silver platter? i think you would.
Quote:i thought that there were enough 'nice' people in the coh community that would put there 2 pence worth in... i guess i was wrong i just get people like you that critasize and call people lazy knowing nothing about the other persons personal life.
And FYI, there's an ongoing thread discussing these type of "Make me a...toon" posts.

Quote:Am I the only person that sees something wrong with players coming to the forums and asking for other people to make them a build? No, I am not talking about people who post up their own builds and ask for a review or assistance or comments. I am talking about people who just come and flat out ask for someone to make a build for them that is "Godly". It comes across as many things, but lazy is pretty much at the top of the list. -
Didn't you post this same topic less than a week ago?
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...highlight=fire
Rather than being lazy and simply throwing out a post asking for an "uber" build, why not try the search function? There are plenty of threads discussing fire/mm builds. Expend a little effort rather than expecting something to be handed to you on a silver platter.
There's nothing wrong with asking for help or advice, but don't expect others to do all the work for you... -
Quote:Way to only read part of my post, Dumpleberry. Even when my account was off, that didn't stop me from RPing with people over other programs. I never ONCE said I expected to do what I could pre-I4. Not once. That's an assumption YOU made.
I would have liked to at least be able to take a mob's ALPHA strike without being completely in the red. Maybe then I'd feel like, I dunno, a TANK?
But screw it. The mechanics make no damned sense to me anymore, and I just don't give enough of a damn to bother. I'll just go back to my PS3 until TOR is released. Been fun.out of
on the /ragequit meter...

Quote:Six slotting Combat Jumping on a Blaster with lvl 50 Red Fortune provides only 5.3% ranged defense. For a tank maybe, but for a blaster the 3% to all from the power & enhancers, boosted up to 6% ranged from the 6th red fortune is kinda a big deal.
Those slots would still be better used slotting up a more useful power, ESPECIALLY on a Blaster.
There are several options:
*Put the Red Fortune set into Maneuvers or Weave.
*6 Thunderstrike in a ranged attack for 3.75% ranged.
*6 Mako's Bite in a melee attack for 3.75% ranged.
*1 Steadfast unique for 3% to all.
*2 Blessing of the Zephyr in a travel power for 3.13% ranged.
*6 Gaussian's in a to-hit power for 2.5% to all. -
Quote:That seems like a terrible waste of valuable slots. Six slotting Combat Jumping on a Blaster barely gains you 1% better defense over a completely unenhanced CJ. Even on a Tank, you'd only gain about 1.5% higher defense by doing this. Those slots could be so much better used in other ways.I've noticed this every time I build a new toon and pick up a power like Combat Jumping to help with my defenses. When slotting for this power, I usually six slot it with maybe five Defenses Buffs and maybe one Jump. Sometimes I may max all six slots with the Defensive Buffs. When I then view my percentage of where I am at, it always shows it at around 66% or thereabouts. Unlike other power sets when you view them they will usually show what percent you are getting which is normally much higher in percentage. For my level 50 Blaster, I have her 6 slotted with the Red Fortune set and still can barely reach just under 70% with that. Is there something I am missing here about slotting defensive sets or is it impossible to get any defensive set to reach 99% or 100% capacity?

Quote:Less nerdrage, more spellcheck...WHY is the WORLD are you people DISTROYING the animations?.. the weapon draw is part of the freeking Look, and i just can't imagin WHY the heck a game that is so great on looks even considers cutting out the animations, or make them look crappy by cutting out the weapon draw...
if you want to now draw a weapon DON"T freeking pick powers that use a freeking Weapon, GAWD
stop trying to be a speed clicker and use your freeking mind, tachtices and let us have the weapon draw and movement lock down during the draw, Re-Draw is good too, if you devs want to make these people that complain happy just put up a kinda minor defensive buff boost while redraw or something, or make the blast a few cliclks harder hitting after the draw, or maybe a acc boost for a few seconds
Stop distroying the game for a Body count in PVP
that's another thing, look at the powers themseves, not all powers should be equal, and targeting should not be automatic epecually in PVP
when one tleports drop targeting, maybe add a laggy targeting system to when someone speeds past, harder to hit a moveing target, but the teleport is my bigest concern, when one ports they shoudl be off the other person target screen, and it should interupt the attacks, ( if I am targeted, and I port, the next attack they tryed would cancel becuse I'm not there)
make the Powers the focus, Not the body count, and Stick it to the PVP'ers make them freekign Work for it. -
I think this is a great idea.. How about a universal vet reward token that could be used for server transfers, name changes or respecs?

Quote:Acid Mortar and PGT are two of the keystone powers in the Traps set. Skipping them will have a serious impact on your MM's performance. There's no reason to think you have to set them and lure enemies into them. My preferred tactic on my Bots/Traps is simply to charge in to point-blank range, drop PGT and Acid Mortar then start spamming webnades. For tougher groups I'd lead with Seekers and drop Triage Beacon if necessary.I just dinged 30 on my Thugs/Traps and I don't know what to take. ATM I don't have Acid Mortar or Poison Trap as I didn't see how they would help my playstyle (depending on my question below). I'm less of a set trap and lure them into it as I am a run in (since I have the FF Generator and wanna keep my Arsonist and Bruiser in it) and shoot stuff kinda guy.

I love these kind of phrases... They always seem to come from fairly new players too. Really throws up the RMT buyer flag. Speaking as someone who has multiple toons sitting at or near the inf cap, and having several friends with just as much, there is no such thing as an 'unlimited budget'.

Quote:WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! Hold on now, PK, err Westley.. Are you trying to tell us that if we see our character has some type of potential weakness or could perform better, that we should do something with our build to fix that?!? That's just crazy talk!If your character is having endurance issues... then slot for more endurance reduction. It's really not that hard. I build all of my characters to be endurance-self-sufficient from level 1 on. That way as I level up and attain more powers, their endurance use is still balanced.
So that at EVERY level, no matter WHAT I do with my character, I NEVER run out of endurance. With the sole exception of the Nuke, of course. But that can't be helped. -
I doubt that positive rep is going to last long with all the negativity oozing from the OP's posts.

Quote:Sounds more like a problem with either the team or the person in the driver's seat. I've played an FF/Rad Defender to 50. It was my second 50. I still play it today. Perhaps we're playing different versions of City of Heroes, because somehow I've made it through every TF (including multiple successful MoSTF runs) in the game without ever having to use "a whole tray of blues on every mission" or "rely almost entirely on purples for defense." And that's running Dispersion Field, Maneuvers, Assault, occasionally Tactics, an APP armor toggle and attacking constantly with AOE's. So, either your FF Defender has a completely unmanageable build, or you're wildly exaggerating again. My bet is on the latter...On the last TF I was on, I was literally doing every job on that team at different times, tanking under PFF, scrapping with Air Superiority and Boxing (as needed), controlling foes with Repulsion Bomb soft control and protecting people with bubbles. However, I went through a whole tray of blues on every mission and often had to rely almost entirely on purples for defense. To me, that's an issue. It bespeaks a problem with the powerset, and is even more noticable when solo.
Feel free to call this post 'trolling' though, if it makes you feel better about yourself. -
