Quote:I loved it. It was right up there with Cap and Iron Man for me. One of the BEST of the recent super hero movies.I saw it. While I'd say it was perhaps the weakest of the recent Marvel-produced movies, it was still quite entertaining. Personally, I felt there was a bit too much focus on the "charming" Iron Man, but then again, I can't stand that guy.
Also, while I don't think he's bad, this seems like as good a place as any to raise something that continues to mystify me. Where did this worship of Joss Whedon in geekdom come from, given that similarly one-note content producers get unfairly savaged all the time by the geekdom fanbase? The man's abilities are vastly, vastly overrated. That doesn't mean he isn't skilled, though.
That being said, absolutely agreed on Whedon. Not a huge fan of his work. He is talented, but has a bad habit of relying on shark-jumping to try and tug on heart strings or do what other directors or what have you don't. I think I enjoyed the film so much because he didn't rely on that. -

Eh, I would rather have to tell my minions what to attack. I wouldn't mind having them auto-attack my initial target, but that'd be a quality of life improvement, and I would NOT want it to be a constant thing. If I need something dead right then, attack-target gets the job done, and its not really hard to retarget to another dangerous target. If I were to want any quality-of-life improvements, it'd be for my Spec Ops to not use CC on an already CC'd target, in order to save the cooldowns.

Quote:SO THATS WHERE FAULTLINE WENT! Been wondering about that for months!Gen. Aarons inexplicably likes to close to melee even though he has a gun. Exploding Warhulks then kill him.
If you have any knockback powers, keep pushing the Warhulks away.
Or, as suggested above, run away and lose him clearing the map until you get to the Elite Boss at the end. Then go back and get Aarons to help you.
Wait 'til you get to Lt. Dietrich who likes to run several spawns ahead so she can shoot at a distance.... just like Fusionette.
Then there's Faultline who goes into granite form and then can't jump simple obstacles to follow you.
The Ballista Longbow is the only worthwhile NPC companion in the RWZ arcs. -
Farsight on my time masterminds. Hasten, sometimes one of the shields to remind me to rebuff. Never an attack, though I suppose that could be useful during the rare super-lag moments.

Quote:This. Its not that I don't understand the desire to make your minions more effective, I totally get that. I just think that if you are on a team, your priority needs to be making the team more effective, and those buffs will have a greater effect on other ATs.When I played my Corr /Thermal, I always put Forge on ATs that have higher base damage, that would put Scrapper, Blaster, Stalker (they get way more criticals), Dominator and SoA ahead of others. I've seen many Corrs who put it on Brute first but in reality, Brute gets the benefit less than other ATs due to much lower base damage. I don't put Forge on MM but I may put it on the boss pet or Jounin/Grave Knights.
On my /Time Mastermind, the 18% damage boost is ok. It is the +recharge that is more useful. I tend to put +recharge more on Dominator/Controller and Brute and the rest is about equal. -
Quote:The idea has been tossed around a bit, but generally is summarily discarded. Its not that it's a bad idea, its just not very mastermind-y. It has the feel of a completely different AT to it.I seem to recall a similar idea in the suggestion forum a long time ago.
Still love the idea.
One idea was/is to have your usual mastermind minions, and then have the level 18 power combine all of your minions into a form of super being for a limited duration, with each additional minion adding something different to the compilation. -
Green Lantern was...alright. Leagues better then say, X-Men Last Stand or Origins: Wolverine.

Must be. Welp, on to Batman movie series number...what are we on now? Three? Or four counting Adam Wests, if we can count Adam Wests...
-
Wait, there is a Batman Reboot in the works? ...really? What is with this sudden trend of rebooting series that don't really need it...

Ignore this advice. No offense, Dz. But each of the MM primaries gets the job done. Some of them just get it done easier then others. Its kind of like comparing a 20lb hammer to an 18lb. 20lb will make the job easier, but the 18lb will still get it done. My Merc finishes whatever my bots/thugs/demons do, it just takes a bit longer is all.
That being said, depends on your style. Keep in mind that Beastmaster lacks ranged attacks on anything short of the boss minion, and the beastmaster minions will use their buffs just whenever they are up. Inconvenient, but not world ending. Necro minions tend to require a bit less baby-sitting once they get their second buff, and the Lich is decent at CC. -
The original Gundam series, if you can stomach the dated graphics. Zeta, but for the love of GOD avoid Chars Counter Attack. Watch the Zeta movie for a happier ending. Stardust Memory is pretty good, so is War in the Pocket. 08th MS Team is probably my favorite of the Gundam shows, focusing more on the normal soldiers view of the ground portion of the One Year War. Your mileage may vary, but I can't really stand anything past Wing, though having seen some 00, SEED actually seems bearable now. If you want a weird combination of Fighting anime and mecha, you could always watch Mobile Fighter Gundam. Not my cup of tea though.
Evangelion, though uh...be careful of the last few episodes. EXO Squad like some one else mentioned. Big-O, and I think Macross/Robotech has been mentioned plenty. -
Eh, I wouldn't mind a PEAT, otherwise I am happy with new powersets in existing ATs.
-
Thats just par the course, though. Hulk has always been the 'secret weapon' of sorts ((At least until later)). Its just that they had to try and balance his 'super weapon-ness' with his 'collateral damage-ness'.
-
So it isn't just "Tony Stark and his super friends"? I was a bit worried about that.
-
Mercs need an AI boost more then anything. Spec Ops need a REASON for stealth, so maybe the ability to critical, with a guarenteed critical while in stealth. Beyond that you can get a lot of mileage out of macroing in different targets for each of the Ops. Spreads the CC around. But they still do bleh damage for being the Lieutenant pets.

Depends on the character. My merc/pain has to move around a lot to heal, but my bot/thermal doesn't have to move as much. My Soldier Of Arachnos will move occasionally to line up a cone ((If everything didn't die in the first blitz)), or my widow a PBAoE, but my plant/kin gets to stand still against everything short of demons. The melee'ers typically get to stand still and trade blows, only moving to chase down runners or to position the occasional attack.
It also depends a lot on the enemy. Certain bosses require me to make sure my minions aren't in the line of fire or in range of an AoE on my masterminds. Unfortunately, as my main and obsession are all masterminds ((I have higher levels of every mastermind powerset now, working on my BM)) my minions are prone to coming down with "Brain dead" syndrom and not moving out of the way of dangerous things fast enough as I scream at them to move. -
My beast masters doppleganger summoned a Helion instead of wolves. Not...sure what to make of that.
-
Merc/pain. Cause...I like guns I suppose. Not exactly uber, but I enjoy it.
-
Its still beating the damage of Kung Flu Fighting, though. I haven't checked in a while but it might even be more survivable.
-
I like the idea. I don't think it'll ever happen, but I like it. you could also have each power summon a different type of pet. Ranged, melee, buff, or healing. One at a time, obviously. Possibly make them take the place of a vanity pet? Bet some people would scream bloody murder over that, tho'.

Quote:Agreed, I would REALLY like to have munitions for my mastermind...Interesting. The page is still cached if you're able to figure that out. I'm hoping there's another round of proliferation, maybe not for powersets but at least for animations or ancillary pools - the past issue overview pages don't seem to include power proliferation.
-
I can agree with that.
-
This. Especially the "You have to have read it" one. Sometimes things just can't be conveyed as well on big screen, or AREN'T. So the fans may find something terrific that other people miss just because, yes, they haven't read the source material. That isn't always a fallacy.

Quote:And you've taken what I was saying out of context. He was saying that since he didn't like it, it didn't count. Thats not quite the way it works. I am not saying that I agree with not releasing multiple sets at once, I don't really stand on either side of that fence, but just because you personally don't find use in some set does not negate the fact that a power set was in fact just introduced to the market, with another one following most likely less then a month later. That is a good rate of release when you think about it.Yeah, and everybody knows it's against the law in The Big Book of Gaming Laws and Regulations to release another one...
Put me in the group of customers that is annoyed at how much they've strung out releasing staff fighting, so we can have yet another useless, overpriced vanity pet.
Now I'll wait for people to complain about me complaining, and it will happen because I bought clown summoning on April 1st, and I just activated summon ironic clown...
