I might be able to make it tomorrow night. What time are planning to start?
-
Looks like I'm gonna be a bit late....again....

Looks like I'm running a bit late. Possibly very late.
Sooo close to 50 now after that LGTF run yesterday. -

Hi all,
This is an unintended side-effect of other changes. We'll be adding the below to the known issues list:
<ul type="square">[*]Currently, any mission that can be accessed via Flashback, and any mission in a shared zone that is available only to Heroes or Villains, can only be selected as the active mission of a team if every member of that team is in the same zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Um... not sure if I'm reading this right but I was in Striga last night doing normal missions (not flashback) and still had this problem. I suspect it's not limited to Flashback/Co-op zones.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's any mission that CAN be accessed via flashback (even if you got it from the regular contact), gets flagged and everyone has to be in the same zone. I think that's the unintentional side effect. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hahahaha supergrats there Paj.I'm sure Canine was 'pleased' for you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, everyone was very pleased for me.
I'm sure the mention of muggings was only in jest...mostly.
You wait a year, and don't see any, then 3 show up at once...just like buses...
I'll probably have to wait another year before I see some more. -
All I have to say is.....
3 PURPLES IN 1 MISSION!!!!! -
This solution appears acceptable. Now to wait and see what the sets look like with 1 added power.

Hey gang,
We've been following closely the feedback and reactions to Open Beta. One of the chief points of discussion has resolved around the changes to Hero Epic and Villain Patron power pools.
We wanted to let you know that the Development Team is working on additional refinements, based in part on player feedback, to those changes. The team wants to have some rounds of internal testing to make sure what we are proposing will work before we present it to you, but in talking with Castle and Positron, they want let you know about it soon.
So, thanks for your continued support and interest and stay tuned for more information!
[/ QUOTE ]
That'll teach me to remember that beta means that things can still change. However, based on long and cynical experience, I'm not expecting major alterations during public Beta.
Anyway, more waiting game to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, it looks like they know we're unhappy about some of these changes, and they might be doing something about. I suppose it's wait and see what they come up with next. Fingers crossed they do a better job of sorting out the PPPs this time. -
Ok, sign me up. @Paj
I can bring a stalker, MM, or Dom. I'd rather bring the stalker, but if you need one of the others instead, I won't mind. -
Best one I've done. My first attempt at a Strike Force with my Ice/Ice dom. The team decides to stealth the mission, someone puts grant invisibility on everyone. I superspeed off, and get past the 3rd group before all the attacks from the first group kill me. It would have helped if I switched Arctic Air off. Best aggro aura in the game!
-
Thugs/Poison, same story. Most I found fairly easy. Silver Mantis however, I couldn't even solo as an EB, with temps. Go figure.
Only 'Epic' fight was Biff. That took over 10 minutes. But he's only an EB, with alot of regen, and likes to run away. -

Nothing gets trampled faster than when theres 8 masterminds and 48 pets steamrolling through any map.
If lag isn't a problem that is.
[/ QUOTE ]
We tried something like this in villain beta.
8 robotics masterminds, all having 6 pets each, 2 of the pets summing another 2 pets of their own (seeker drones). Was so many pets about we crashed the mission we were on
I do wonder if 8 thugs masterminds all using posse/gang war at once would blow up the server
[/ QUOTE ]
Im up for trying ^^
Oh and all thugs/dark! Get mr fluffy in there aswell!
So with 10 posse 6 pets and a DS Plus bosses...
= 144 person strong army...
Who wants to crash the server??
[/ QUOTE ]
144 strong thug army....
Why does the line "warriors...come out to playeeeyay..." spring to mind?
God help the all robot mm team in a sewer mish,I imagine a three hour delay while the tin cans line up to pass through "those" doorways.. devs should implement a "take a ticket and wait to be called" system
[/ QUOTE ]
The Gang did do some base raids with about 12 thug MMs. We didn't crash the server, but it did almost grind to a halt. Over 30 seconds betweeen each power activation, and frame rates measured in seconds per frame. Win by lag.
Sometimes I miss The Gang. -

SWG.
It was just about half decent.
Star Wars has many many more fans than either Batman or Superman (and as for the rest, Green who?).
It flopped worse than FFM when his levitation device was hit by an EMP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Praf, what do you think would have happened if there was a game based around rhe Star wars universe but not exactly the same? Star battles? And it had a similar theme to star wars. And players played it because it was the nearest thing to Star wars they could get? And it had a sub of about 130,000.
And then someone announced they were bringing out a game of the actual Star Wars license?
And you could fight along side Luke and Hans and face the Darths etc...
And, as a kicker, the game turned out to be good....?
What was the first game called again?

Remember, Ultima Online is still going, after how long? And how many games have come after it in the same genre, with stronger IPs behind them?
If an MMO survives it's first 6 months, it's not going to be killed off just because something else in the same genre comes along. -

I am not a comic book fan. I play CoX because I enjoy the gameplay more than the othe MMOs I have tried. As far as I'm conerned, any new MMO is a competetor for CoX, regardless of genre. DC may have rubbish gameplay. It sounds like CO does have rubbish gameplay. On the other had, by all acounts WAR has excellent gameplay, so maybe that is the competetor that NorCal needs to worry about.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm with PRAF on this one.
In fact I didn't even consider CO or DC Online when posting my initial concerns about the lack of updates. I'm not too sure CoH has too much to worry from these feature-wise.
In fact after reading preview articles for DC Online I wouldn't be worried about it at all if I was NorCAL, other than it maybe causing a blip in the number of concurrent players for a month or two when its released. It seems pretty rubbish / poor from what I've seen so far with nothing innotive or stand-out.
Personally I just don't like the lull we've got at the moment, it feels like this year has been treading water for the most part so far (at least from this side where we know little to nothing about whats to come).
Personally for me WAR is more likely to steal me a way for a bit. Which may be a good thing in terms of having a little break and coming back whenever i13 and 14 materialise.
[/ QUOTE ]
Two things I agree with here. (Um, three actually)
I'm not a big comic book fan either, I'm here because I find the game fun. DC or CO don't interest me in the slightest.
Issue 12 wasn't very big. Issue 11 didn't add much that either. It's been a long time since Issues 9 and 10 hit, and we haven't had much (if any) information about Issue 13, yet.
Now, I understand why they want to hold onto the release of I13 info, it's just that it's already been a long time, and we probably have several months of waiting to go. It all gets a bit disheartening.
I ain't leaving here just yet, but I'm also looking at joining WAR for a bit. Wether I end up staying here or there really depends on how well I13 shapes up compared to WAR.
What I'm trying to say is, this game feels like it has been treading water for a while now, CO and DC aren't the only threats out there (I don't think they're even the biggest threats, atm), and morale around here is starting to decline with the length of wait for the next issue. -
You might want to check out this thread.
Looks like the answer is yes.
I've not really IOd my MMs that much. The set bonuses for the pet sets don't seem to stack very well. I would try to get my hands on the defence and resitance uniques though. -
Well, all the way to level 12. That's 4 times higher than I've ever been on CoH before.
That run through the sewers was, erm, entertaining? ridiculous? amazing? heroic? some other appropriate superlative?
Now all I need a is a power I can spam other than Stone Cages...I'm not used to this not actually having attacks, I like to be busy. (or, maybe I should just slot Stone Cages with a lot of blues) -

Today's the day!! And nobody has posted. All ready for some Icy chaos?

The weather report for tonight is Gale force winds, Snow Storms, and occasional Showers of Sleet and Ice.
-
Well, I now have Fridget (Ice/Mental) waiting in Atlas Park.
I also have Barsin (Earth/Storm) waiting there, as I still can't decide which to go with. -
I'd best sign up now before this gets too full.
Not played the hero side of things really, so it should be entertaining to see how the other half live.
Thinking of playing some kind of Ice/ Blaster, possibly /Mental (or maybe /Elec, or /Ice).
Oh, and my brother would be interested in signing up, however, he doesn't visit the forums. I'll speak to him this weekend to get some details. -

My Kinetic/Electric defender has AoE attacks in Ball of Lightning and Short Circuit, not to mention Fulcrum Shift. He's fun to play solo, teamed and in PvP. I can beat some players that aren't well prepared for massive end drain and he's useful in hectic big team battles due to the nature of the buffs. The other night in Pocket D PvP I was holding my own against a number of players, this was mainly due to the nature of the map and the fact i could fulcrum shift off several of the other team at once. Masterminds are also good to fight against with AoE so long as they aren't */dark lol.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I remember you [censored] a few MMs in that tourney we had an age ago, you still got the vid anywhere?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I remember. I was one of those Masterminds.
Taking a PvE build into PvP is possible, I got through to the final with my MM. Didn't do to well in the final...someone was draining all my endurance, and that of all my pets...
This is very much specced for PvE, solos AVs for breakfast, and still does ok in casual PvP. Not so good when all the pros come out with thier builds specced to take on MMs though...(I hate TP foe) -
I can bring my lvl 34 Ice/Cold Corr, Frost Fiend if you like.
-
Sorry about last night. My internet connection died on me. No matter how many times I reset my router, or rebooted my computer, it just wouldn't stay connected.
-
Well, if you've still got space left, my Stalker (Kat Black, MA/SR 47) needs the badge.
-
Taken from this guide.
You need the following recharge bonus (depending on how you've slotted hasten)
<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>Hasten Slotting Enh Value Set Bonus Rech Req'd
--------------------------------------------------
3 Rech SO 95.0% 70%
3 Rech IO 99.1% 69%
4 Rech IO 105.4% 67%
5 Rech IO 111.8% 65%
6 Rech IO 118.2% 64%</pre><hr />
For example, at the moment I've got hasten 4 slotted, and a recharge bonus of 65%. So, although I'm close to perma dom, and can often get domination to recharge fast enough to fire a second time, depending on when hasten is up, I cannot get perma domination.
