Solo'ing AV's without temps

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any interesting stories of going up against an Arch-Villain/Hero solo and beating them without the use of any temp powers.

I had my first experience of that today Took my DB/WP brute to fight Agent Indigo, on relentless difficulty so she would spawn as a hero. The fight itself wasnt as hard as it was long, it cost 3-4 blue inps, 1 red, 1 purp, and 1 green.

I was able to knock her down a lot and thanks to my set bonuses I could regen some decent health during that time. I must have used Strength of Will about 4 or 5 times during the fight, but was mostly relying on that for the +end recovery. My poor blue bar hasnt taken that much of a beating since fighting Malta. Once I even unleashed demonic and turned off my +def and +res toggles during that time to get my endurance back

Does anyone have any similar stories to share? Would love to hear them

My Ninja/Dark MM solo'd a few. I either found them easy or impossible so no titanic battles to describe I'm afraid. Seems to work that way for MMs, or at least Dark ones

[/ QUOTE ]Tell me about it... Thugs/Dark here. Most of them go down effortlessly, but the ones that don't are nigh-impossible to beat. There seems to be no middle-ground.

Keep 'em coming, anyone with melee oriented chars who've managed it? I want to hear your stories!

Well, back in the early days I saw many a /regen scrapper take down Lusca.

Thugs/Poison, same story. Most I found fairly easy. Silver Mantis however, I couldn't even solo as an EB, with temps. Go figure.

Only 'Epic' fight was Biff. That took over 10 minutes. But he's only an EB, with alot of regen, and likes to run away.

I regularly do the marauder mission as an AV via flashback mission on my main. Duo it now and then too but then it becomes almost too easy. (not big headed but when the AVs attention is on your decoys/phant, the two of you havent a lot to worry about apart from which attack to hit)
The monsters on monster island are quite easy to solo too since their dmg isnt really that high and truth be told any player hoping to solo them should have some form of fast recharge heal/regen.

My goal is to solo the final mission of mender silos tf with them all spawning as AVs, i think the only ones that could pose a serious problem would be ghost widow and the jade spider. Everyone else would just need a few CABs imo.

Nice, although I think Lord Recluse as an AV could be quite tough. My fight with the EB version of him got pretty nasty when he summoned his legion of bane spiders.

There are few that can take me down (clockwork was tricky but thats just initial, GW is lame, the other psi lady is annoying yet doable - or that stupid FF lady who goes intangle nonstop), there is none i can take down

I met Biff twice. First time I didn't even get a shot in and poof he was gone (once he started running I couldn't catch up with him). Second time around the fight went on for about 5 min and his health down for about 50%, and I kept trying to knock 'm down as much as I could but again he just managed to ran off, again.

Well, guess no epic fights from me either.

Synapse was the worst for me, I stuggled to take him down as an EB at the end too.

I have just remembered my Fire/DA brute took down countess crey as an AV, it was unintentional, forgot to change dificulty setting. I did get through a whole tray of blues. She nearly took me down at one point but an ambush showed up just in time for Dark Regen (which she was slowly out doing my recharge on) to put me back to full health.

So yeah a very end heavy build I had but capable of killing one AV in the game.......... I wish it was cheaper on end

Soloed a couple of the easier praetorian AVs with my DM/SR scrapper on test a few weeks back. No inspirations or temp powers used there. Took ages of slowly inching their health down, could have been sped up a lot by enough reds. The build wasn't much good against anything that didn't stay alive long enough for midnight grasp's DoT to tick out though so it never moved to live.
