That's true, though you won't have inherent fitness until you do a respec. But it allows you to pick up some new powers, if you had picked fitness before.

I like the Doc Quantum 30-39 mission. It has things that explode. When you can chain explode several at once, that's even better.
If there was a mission with about a thousand proximity bombs that would all go off at once when you set one off... I'd run that one as much as possible. Just because.
Or maybe they need a mission with ice slides like in Frostfire, and proximity bombs that you can't help sliding into. >.> -

Synapse and the Shard TFs should be at the top of anyone's list of tedious TFs. ^_^ Think I'll toss in the hero respec trials too, for the boring 20 minutes in the reactor core.
There's really no forgiveness for Synapse having 6 straight kill all's to start off the TF though. And let's not get started on Dr. Q or Justin Augustine.... -
If you're VIP then naturally all your IOs work. They haven't added any new IOs per se, but there are store bought "attuned" enhancements which are a bit different from the IO versions, and there are the new AT-specific ATO enhancements which come from the Super Packs but can be bought/sold/traded, so you'll see them on the market.
Assuming you're VIP, your heavily-purpled or IO'd character is almost certainly still well built. You'd want to head to Ouroboros and run through the arc that opens up your alpha incarnate slot, and then find out about other incarnate powers... that's where the real power expansion has been.
25-30 billion is enough money to still be very rich. ^_^ -
I get 18 merits free every time I create a character. It wouldn't be hard to farm randomly created characters for vet merit rewards. ^_^

Hmm, good call (on the likely dip over the weekend).
I may need to spend even more of my ever-dwindling supply of money.
And put in a third extra IO storage bin. And/or start using my bins on other servers and villainside. -
Can I just add that not only are escort missions annoying, but escort missions that involve rescuing people held hostage by knives of artemis (caltrops) or carnie master illusionists (decoy phantom) are exceptionally annoying because I have to wait for bits of metal or imaginary people to disappear before the hostages know they're being rescued.

I'm going to see the Secret World of Arrietty.
Pretty sure Studio Ghibli will be the last place on earth to make a 3-D movie. ^_^ -
The task force you have to do with a team. Everything else you can do solo, and you can just kill vampires and warwolves in Striga solo until you get the badges if you like.
(I kinda like Citadel myself. But then, Council is my favorite enemy to farm.) -
It is very hard to predict. But I think that, at the very least, they're not going to become cheaper or more plentiful than they are this first week, so even if prices remain the same or only rise slightly, I at least have a good investment in ATOs that I can use on my many many alts. I think I have at least 2 full sets of everything but the MM version.
But I'll be very interested to see how these are selling in a month or two, or three. ^_^ -
I think I went a little overboard. >.>
I have a very strong feeling that the price of these sets will rise. There's a glut on the market from people buying the Super Packs, but historically anything that offers defense sells very well, and anything that offers big recharge numbers sells very well. And I especially see the Scrapper and Brute ATOs selling very well because of the Superior defense numbers. Also, the stalker set is considered very good, and I expect more people to play stalkers come I22.
Consider that most Kinetic Combat pieces sell very well, LotG +recharge sells very well... those can be had for 2 a-merits (ignoring the 1 a-merit KC for the moment). 2 a-merits = 100 merits + 40 million. So roughly speaking, 1 ATO = 4 kin triples or 4 LotG +recharges. 1 ATO Proc = 5 kin triples.
Not that it's that simple, of course. But the scrapper and brute ATOs are still going for 75 mil up to 150 mil maybe. That seems pretty low to me. I don't expect people to continue to buy the Super Packs at the rate they did the first week, so there will be fewer of these ATOs being put on the market as time goes on... and the big influx of merits from the Super Packs, that's going to slow down too. And inflation always drives valuable things up in price over time.
So... I spent most of my money on ATOs the past couple of days, scrapper and brute versions in particular. I have well over 200 stored up. And my marketing toons are all much poorer at the moment. -
Some PvP recipes are 35 a-merits I believe.
-
As a clarification, it wasn't clear to me that the catylized "Superior" ATO's would provide 5% smashing/lethal defense with 3 slots. Or 10% smashing/lethal 3 slots each in two different powers.
Yeah, that's pretty hard to ignore. ^_^ -
Positron's Blast is one of those sets that gives you damage on every non-proc IO, and because one of those is damage/range, you wind up with lots of damage and very little accuracy, recharge, or endurance. So I agree with Dechs; I don't like the set because of the enhancement numbers, but there aren't a lot of alternatives for Targeted AoE.

Quote:But those are both very quick missions, at least on a good melee character with super speed/stealth. ^_^I drop those two that always always always send you to Independence Port.
Doubly so since they're both against Arachnos.
Last night I joined a Posi 1 late, followed by a Posi 2, and I still had to run my tip missions after. I am 28 hero merits on Megamisama, and tonight I can get to 30 with 5 more tip missions, morality mission, and 43 merits to convert. So I really wanted to get my 5 tip missions in last night, and I was tired so I wanted to do them fast.
I got all 5 missions in Talos, and not only that, but all 5 near the Skyway entrance within about 800 feet of each other. O_o That's never happened, but it was quite nice! -
Quote:Exactly this. Though it depends on my mood also. The missions that send me out of Talos are also some of the ones that I like the least -- rescue the carnie debutantes, rescue Sister Jocasta. These missions get three strikes against them because they're A) long escort missions B) against enemies I dislike and C) in another zone. The only mission I actively avoid is One Good Spider. It's not that it's a bad mission; it's actually pretty epic and well done. It very much captures the heroic sense of swooping into Grandville, flipping over Arachnos's table, and escaping with the rescued ally.
But it's long, especially after already running through 5 previous tips.
But it depends on how bored I am with killing greys for tips. More than half the time, I'll grumble but run them anyway. But One Good Spider I ignore, only because of the time involved. -
No scrapper is bad per se. I have two level 50 katana/regen scrappers. I don't play them that much these days, because regen is very clicky and defense is king in PvE. But that's coming from a VIP/IO persepctive -- Invulnerability for example is an excellent set when properly IO'd, less attractive without all the IO benefits. My Invul scrappers & brutes are softcapped defensively to smashing/lethal damage and usually to energy/negative energy damage, meaning very few attacks hit me, and when they do I have all of Invulnerability's resists to reduce the damage that gets through. That makes these characters incredibly tough.
For working with SO's though, regen or willpower are fine picks. As I said, there's no bad scrapper, and no bad brute either. -
Quote:Haven't even gotten a catalyst yet, but from what I understand you can convert your slotted ATO to a "Superior (purple)" ATO, giving it increased stats. What's this "catalysts" I keep reading about? I got Brute's Very Rare ATO. I can covert it into something better like the Superior version? How do I do that?
Caveat: regular ATOs and Superior ATOs are treated as separate sets, so you'll want to convert all of the ATOs in a set (all the ones you have slotted) to get all of the bonuses. Also, once converted they are account-bound, you can e-mail to yourself but can't sell or trade them away. -
Quote:I don't either. Right at the moment people are flush with merits, and someone in the Market forum noted that things that have historically sold for 100-200 million on the market such as the Luck of the Gambler +7.5% recharge IO are suddenly going for 50 million. But right now there's a rush of people buying the Super Packs; that'll fade. I'm not planning to buy any more of this pack now that I have the full costume set, for example.I'm not seeing the ability to add 2.5 chosen ATOs to the 14 or so random ones opening those will have generated as game breaking.
But I don't think 400 merits for an ATO is a massive grind either. I join 1-2 TFs a night so I'm always earning merits. I still save up Hero Merits for the occasional Glad Armor +3% def purchase, and that takes much longer... and when I'm doing that, I'm trying to earn 50 merits a day so that I can convert them.
And it's easy to say, "But I'm a power gamer," but really, I know a lot of people that do 1-2 TFs a night. -
Bear in mind that, per what I've read elsewhere, the Perf Shift grants the same amount of endurance regardless of endurance debuffs. So in those situations, it would be more help I think?
-
Righteous anger rarely works well in any exchange with customer service, but at least customer service is paid to be civil while you yell at them. Other players/customers can say what they really think.
But I do hope you get the problem resolved. -
The slots don't move, only the character. If you have 1 slot free on Virtue and transfer a character there, you'll have 0 free slots after, and 1 more free slot on Liberty than before.
Also in your example if you only have 1 slot on Virtue and it's filled already (1/1) then you wouldn't be allowed to transfer a character there.
Caveat -- I'm not certain if we're talking Premium here, or how things are affected when you have only a few slots to work with and most of your old characters locked. I know how it works for VIPs. Every server has 8 slots plus however many extra I've purchased/applied to that server, so I know if I transfer a character to Virtue I need an open slot and then it's filled after the transfer. -
As an example, I spent $15.00 yesterday and used the points to buy the 24-super pack deal. Out of that I wound up with 950 merits, which I can claim and use on any character on the account.
