Two new pieces for you today. The first is a new fanfare for Atlas Park, the second is an ominous and thunderous theme for The Storm Palace.
As always, check the OP for details. -
Hmm, Crowe as Jor-El... I could see that working. Wouldn't be my first choice though.
My primary concern is how the film makers plan on making the Superman character interesting. He's always been a very clean cut goody two-shoes with a clear stance on morality. What I'd like to see is that stance challenged. I want see him making difficult moral choices and dealing with the innumerable shades of grey. We might see just that what with Nolan involved.
I'd also like to see him face a threat that rivals his own power. I hear Zod will be filling that role. As much as I love Terrence Stamp's Zod, it was cheesier than a stuffed crust pizza. With any luck the character will keep his pathological arrogance but apply it in way that is genuinely compelling and menacing.
Oh, and the "Kneel before Zod!" line wouldn't go amiss either. -

With regard to Shivans, I point you to this.
The meteorites in Bloody Bay have been there since 1989. They are what appear to be the remnants of a mysterious planetary devourer dubbed Shiva, which was seemingly destroyed that same year. However these fragments appear to be reconstituting under a strange tree at the centre of the island.
Here's the interesting bit (and pure speculation on my part), it would seem that Shiva/the Storm had been on its way here for decades. What it didn't expect was a nuke in the face when it arrived in the solar system. So it masks itself from sensors and waits, sending scouts to Earth to reconnoitre. Meanwhile on Earth everyone thinks its been destroyed and the meteorites are just fragments of wreckage.
Another interesting thing to note is the name Shiva, after the Hindu deity "The Destroyer of Worlds". This might point to a Galactus/Unicron world eater style adversary in the Coming Storm.
Or I could be talking utter rubbish. Time will tell. -

Figured I'd join in on the fun, sent a few friend requests out. -
Though not quite as badass or as psychotic as...
GIVE ME YOUR FACE!!! -
Personally I'd like to see a "Rocks rise, everybody flies" PBAoE, ground pound Seismic Judgement. You slam your fist(s) into the ground causing a shockwave of earth, knocking everyone down. Think Footstomp, but more "Hulk smash" style visuals. Great for Stone Melee and Super Strength toons alike.

If you want to get shards I'd suggest running the high level TFs (STF LRSF, LGTF, ITF) they tend to dish out a few shards per run.
Doing trials will net you plenty of Incarnate Threads which can be used to craft Alpha Slot enhancements (just scroll down on the Alpha slot recipe menus to see the Thread recipes). Doing trials will ultimately net you a quicker return on Threads than TFs will on Shards. -
I cannot recommend Mids enough. It really is the most useful utility a CoX player can have. If you're unsure of what a power does you can fire up Mids and examine it. It'll tell you everything; damage numbers, activation time, recharge time, endurance cost, it's all there. It can help give you a much better understanding of your chosen powersets.
Another good resource are these very forums. The Guides section can be particularly helpful with regards to powersets, builds and slotting advice. -
Alrighty, as I'm having a bit of a creative block with regard to the 5th Column and Shadow Shard tracks, I decided to work on something for Faathim (as suggested by Bright). This one is a warm, airy, melodic and mellow peice, with a hint of melancholy given Faathim's situation. So head to the OP and check out The Kind One.

I recently discovered an old screenie from way back in 2007, taken just 3 days after I started playing this game. It featured my main villains first costume. I'd be hard pressed to imagine ole' Knightmare clad in azure armour, fresh out of the Zig, struggling with level 3 snakes, but there he was. The difference was startling. No cape, no aura, no fancy booster pack costume parts (save for the GvE goodies). Just standard parts.
So my good people of the forums, I want to see your oldest toons first costume. Try to recreate it if you can and post a comparison shot with your current costume. It must be your level 1 costume i.e the one that the toon rolled with. If for whatever reason the original costume parts are no longer available (Malaise pants), then the closest match will do.
Here's mine.

Whoohoo! I got a mention this week! I feel all famous and celebrity like.
-
This has happened to me on more than one occasion. I'll be happily tanking him and then he just despawns. PITA when trying to solo him.
-
It's been about 12 hours since my characters were queued, still no sign of them on Beta. I know that it can take up to 24 hours to sync, so I won't panic until then.
-
Ok, update.
I can conclude that there is no name/word filter in effect. I was successfully able to copy Knightmare Revenant over to Beta after repeated attempts.
Character Copy is working folks, it's just a bit skittish at the moment. If at first you don't succeed, try again later. Perseverance is the key. -
I'm also getting that message. Not quite fixed yet methinks.
EDIT: It is working, though not with all characters it seems. I tried copying over Knightmare Revenant; name invalid. I tried Anbarus; "Your character has been queued for copying."
Please tell me the paranoid copyright/profanity filter hasn't been applied to character names on Beta. -
Here's my favourite tank all ascended and such.
Obligatory before and after shots.
-
I have a habit of teasing Scrapyard. On occasion I'll hop in and tank him for a few minutes just for the lulz. It's a little test of single target survivability. I have a feeling if I stuck it out I could probably solo him. Today I did...
...sort of.
I did my usual trick of tanking for a few minutes then hopping away like an abyssal bunny. I'd gotten as far as the Black Market when I noticed the above message in my logs.
So...um...yeah. According to the game I pwnd his spectral rump. -

That is a trademarked name. It's the stage name of of an adult film star/director.
There are a couple of possibilities as to why your name was genericed. 1. The trademark holder himself petitioned it (highly unlikely, but possible) or 2. You were the victim of someone with very little sense of humour and/or highly prudish.
That being said, I can understand why it was genericed. T for Teen and all that. -
lol£99
What's funnier is the ad for the NCsoft timecard just below for the standard £17.98 -
I was about to say it only works the once as you fill out your tray with 3 insps, but I figured out what you meant by the influence exploit. It probably ought to be reported. Shame really as I thought it was a good tip.
-
I discovered this completely by accident. I had rolled a fresh dom in Praetoria and was going through the tutorial zone. I reached the Resistance clockwork and clicked the glowy for insps. I then logged. When I logged back in later I found myself back out on the street. So I went back through the door and re-initiated dialogue with the Resistance clockwork. I was able to click the glowy again for another large insp!
So:
-Talk to clockwork
-Click glowy, get insps
-Do NOT talk to clockwork and log out.
-Log back in
-Talk to clockwork
-Click glowy for extra insp.
-Sell all 3 insps at Trading House
-Profit!
This trick may work in Outbreak and Breakout too, though I haven't tested it. -
