Well at least you got that. I sent a petition in and got an email explaining how you need to do at least a certain amount of damage in order to be awarded the badge.

It'd be more understandable if my petition hadn't said we were the group that spawned Deathsurge and were the sole damage dealing group in its defeat.

Well, at least if I don't get awarded the badge it's going to be easier to find a group to get it again than it is to get Shark Hunter. Still never managed to take down that bugger again once they fixed his badge.
  2. If you're really looking for a lightning powered character with something to it other than just the plain damage you'd get from an electric/electric blaster might I suggest an electric controll/electric assault dominator.

You'd have some control and a nice mix of both melee and ranged damage that way.

    Out of Contacts

It was like that the entire time I was in beta as far as I can recall, so my guess is it's the workaround to not get stuck in a story arc, or at least something to that effect.
  4. Bah, nevermind. Forgot about the rules change for a sec.

Oddly the option to have them show up on the map doesn't always seem to be on for a new character. I've had two folks that I've run through some of those missions and for one of them I had to go into the map settings and turn it on. The other one had it on as a default.

For the life of me I'm not sure why that happened, I might have done something, but I certainly didn't go in and change any of the map settings that's for sure.

I just ran into my first kill all in the new content. I got it at 16 on one of the later contacts, it was in a small map and they gave me a helper NPC. Seriously, solo it was perhaps 20 enemies at the most.

Quite possibly the least annoying 'kill all' I've ever seen in-game.

It's definitely bugged. A group of us on Justice took him out a bit ago. I spawned the guy, and got the group together (5 of us, scrappers, blasters and one MM who wanted in). I'm not sure if the MM got the badge since I didn't think to ask until later but it definitely didn't give it to any of the rest of us and nobody'd fought Deathsurge but us.

  9. Yea, it took me a sec to find the right code myself when I got my box. The code you're looking for (if you haven't found it by now) is on the inside cover of the 'quick reference card' that comes with the game.

It'll show up as 'retail' on your account by the way. Or it does for me at least.

    Content?

What Call Me Awesome said. I'd add to it but I'm headed out the door at the moment.

Also, since GR came out now, I'd highly encourage you to get that when/if you purchase the game instead of any of the more basic options. The 1-20 content they've cooked up for Praetoria's easily among the best stuff in the game at the moment. I know it costs a bit more but it really is some good stuff.

That's a really, terribly bad metric for deciding how much people liked a film. Over time perhaps, but certainly not over the first weekend. By that metric alone more people liked The Last Airbender than The Expendables (49 million over its first 3 days versus 35 million).

Certainly more people went to go see The Expendables than went to see Scott Pilgrim, doesn't exactly mean they liked it. Especially given the generally lower reviews and 'users scores' The Expendables had at the various websites around the internet when compared to Scott Pilgrim.

Personally I thought both were a ton of fun, but they both had some issues that I could easily see turning off viewers.

There were several around the fight with Brandon Routh's character.

Oh yea, it was a really fun movie. The whole theater had a blast at the showing I went to.

    The Expendables

Just got back from seeing this. Fun film with some surprisingly good acting going on from everyone, especially Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren (which surprised me).

The only real significant knock against it for me was the bad, borderline fake looking CGI they used instead of practical effects. Well, it was borderline for most of the film, at the very beginning and end there were a couple effects that just looked flat out fake, which was disappointing.

Edit: Finally got the sarcasticgamer webpage to load and noticed they said that too. I was talking about the movie reviewer up there, just in case it wasn't obvious.

Wait. What in the world led you to believe that The Expendables was a self referential action parody? Everything I've ever seen about it had it solidly billed as an 80s styled wall-to-wall action film.
  17. It's not exactly the best or most impressivly coreographed fight scene in the world, but the hallway fight scene from Oldboy is one of my favorites.

See, I'm doing that with a movie group on Friday. Scott Pilgrim and The Expendables are matinee films for Saturday.
  20. Personally given that Scott Pilgrim is co-written and directed by the co-writer and director of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead I'm going to go give it a view. Also, seeing as I work at B&N I've been looking at the comics during my breaks and they're fairly entertaining to me which is another good sign.

Also, given that The Expendables just looks like pure awesome action I'm going to go give that one a view too.

Huzzah for actually having a weekend off for once.

Simple answer, no you do not.

Edit for explanation: It'd be far too simple to create missions specifically to farm for any badge you'd like apparently, so they don't let AE enemies count for bades.

There's so much content here it's sick.
Just to tack on to that. I'd like to say don't power level in AE on your character and go play the game normally once. There's more than enough content in the game to get to 50 without a single hitch.

However, if you're playing through an alt, feel free to check out AE. There's more to the thing than just farm missions (which generally have horribly skewed risk/reward levels and end up being just downright boring if you ask me). With a little bit of effort you can find a lot of really well done story arcs that are a lot of fun. You just really don't want to get stuck in AE your first time around, it really keeps you from finding out about the game.

Yea, the Thor comic is pretty much only loosely based off of Norse myth. It's honestly a nice change of pace from the overuse of the Greco-Roman myths if you ask me.

Sometimes I really miss those days. Oh well, all for the sake of balance I suppose. What I really regret is not at least taking a screenshot of the times I novaed a whole map or most of an island of Rikti Monkeys (curse you old-school Zookeeper!!!!).

Suboptimal does not equate with bad however. If you're having fun just go for it. My first 50 was an energy/dev and I still log her in and play here with some regularity (for me anyway, I'm on once a week or so).

That said, devices does have some issues, and is quite possibly in need of a little buffing. It's no reason not to play the powerset though. It just means there's an outside chance that your character will receive a buff during the course of your leveling up.
