Quote:On the other hand, there's also the bit where DC is quoted as replying with this:Honestly... the this makes no damn sense.. Its like they are having a tantrum... ugh..
DC Entertainments publishing strategy is to give our consumers the choice to read our stories in whichever format they prefer.
But then part of the whole issue is that DC isn't making their stories available in whichever format their customers would prefer. They're making them available through physical copies or electronically, but then only through B&N's competitor ... the company that they've been really trying to either meet or outdo in the e-reader market (with varied levels of success, I think B&N is 22%~25% of the market share last I saw). Are you surprised that B&N would be trying to leverage DC into making their e-books available through the nook color (which is also an android based machine). -
Call me crazy, but it looks vaugely like a superheroes meets SAW film. Sort of anyway.
-
Oddly enough I just finished watching Q-less about a half hour ago. But yea, I'd been waiting for October to roll around and DS9 to start streaming since August I believe. October took freaking long enough.
Also, even though B5 > DS9 I still do loves me some DS9. -

Did you have the button clicked that hides items you don't have the components for? If you had that clicked and didn't have enough astral or emp merits then they wouldn't show up in the vendor window.
-
You need to do the first arc from your patron (Sirocco) and get the badge the arc gives you in order to unlock the patron pool.
-
My understanding is that the arc stay available in-game.
Which makes sense since it'd be bad form for someone to spend $5 on something for it to dissapear in a couple months. Or at least I think it would be. -
You know, getting rid of the KB of energy would actually be likely to significantly reduce the soloability of my energy blaster. The ability to keep the majority of a group of enemies attacking me not only on their backs for a part of the time, but at range really helps keep her out of trouble.
I could get that survivability in other ways true, staying at range isn't all that hard, but having it built in to my attacks is quite nice.
Also, there's the sentiment of the whole, "You can take my KB from my cold, dead hands," but that's hardly a good argument against getting rid of KB from attacks. -
Quote:They actually apparently tried something like that in an internal build ages and ages back. The text for it made it onto the live test server, but not any of the implementation. Apparently they didn't like it for some reason or another. The thing is, I already have a AR/traps Corrupter, so I wanted a Blaster to sort of compliment that in a natural/tech sort of way.
I've always hoped that /devices would be allowed to do stealth attacks similar to the PPD NPCs who can do stealth attacks when hidden.3
I still say /devices needs ... something, but I'm obviously not one of the ones making decisions eh. -
All I had to do was fight an elite boss and the group that was there with it. There was one guy that it took me a sec to find though as it didn't aggro on me when I engaged the EB like its buddies.

Quote:No it doesn't. The Targeting Drone doesn't actually give you any iota of a defiance boost actually. Not even a defiance boost after you activate the power based off of its cast time (I just checked in-game a minute or two ago). The only added damage the power has at all is a little bit of extra damage for Assault Rifle's snipe power. Other than its synergy with that one power, TD is just a straight up +to-hit +perception power. Nothing else.Target drone gives a base defiance of 12.5% i believe, see it as a permanent powerboost.
It is nice. You still can't cast it in the air though, which makes my flying /devices character sad. -
No, it doesn't. Well not entirely. Unless the attack you're using is assault rifle's snipe power the targeting drone is just a to-hit and perception buff. If you are using AR's snipe it will add a small amount of extra damage to that power and that power only.

Quote:Unfortunately you really shouldn't fix or improve blasters using build up or aim since you can build blasters that don't have access to either one of those two powers. It would be one matter if the sets that had aim were the ones under performing, but since that group of sets includes things like fire blast I'm guessing that's not the case. And heck, one of the more often complained about blaster secondaries would be completely left out in the cold by any buff to build up (oh devices ....).I'm just poking in here at the end, but here's something I've often considered: What about making Aim (in most Blaster primaries) have a much longer duration? Like 40 seconds?
One blaster benefit that remains is the value of +ToHit they can achieve - While everyone else is whiffing at that MoG'd Paragon Protector, the blaster is hitting it, albeit for 13 points of damage each time.
So. What if Aim received a boost? Maybe PvE gets a treatment like PvP did (if I'm remembering correctly), and more damage was made irresistable?
I offer these suggestions to raise damage because that's the point of the AT, and I wouldn't hold my breath on Blasters being given greater defense or damage resistance numbers; but if they were, I like the idea of tying a temporary defense boost to Build Up/Aim, with the theory that the Blaster will at least stay alive through their attack chain. -

Quote:I don't really think the look of a staff fighting set should really be interchangeable with that of a scythe set. While I suppose there could be some overlap between the animations for the styles of fighting I always imagine just putting a scythe blade on a staff set's animations would be severely shortchanging it. I mean, you'd essentially have to ignore the blade part of it in the animations or else you'd have just made a scythe set instead. And really, you'd need at least one or two more animations that imply striking through an opponent with the scythe blade instead of striking them solidly with the staff. The only thing I can say is that there better be a Scythe weapon customization for Staff Fighting. That would be sick.
Basically if I have a scythe set I'm going to want at least some animations that look like I'm striking through/into an opponent instead of smacking them upside the head with a staff or poking them with the butt of one. -

Quote:Yea, it's the case on live too. When I bought $15 of points on Friday it gave me 2 tokens.Haven't tried it with real money, but in the beta it was:
First purchase of points = One token
Every $15 (including first purchase) = One reward token
$15 = 1320 points (bonus points due to buying in bulk; it would be 1200 if you bought $5 at a time).
So spending $15 would get you two tokens and 1320 points. -
Quote:Yea, both of the B&N readers have been doing that too for a while now. It's very nice. One of the things I like most about the kindle is that you can sync your books between all devices. So you can be reading on your kindle, pick up where you left on on your phone, continue on your computer, pick up again on your kindle, etc...
Edit: And the apps too, I just never use those much and always forget about the things. -
I'm not sure why it's useless after level 4. I mean, it's faster than fly at all levels. Unless you're playing a toggle-heavy character you could, in theory, just use the rocket board instead of a travel power from 1 to 50 and be fine. You might LOOK silly doing it on some characters, but that's another matter.

I'm not terribly sure myself, but they certainly look cool.

So, the two big ebook places are Amazon and Barnes and Noble (though I'm not sure how the latter would work for ebooks outside the US), but they sell in a proprietary format (which I'm sure you know). They do tend to function on the buy once DL as much as you need side of things though, so there's that.
The only two other ebook sellers I know of are Fictionwise and Kobo. I'm not sure if either of those companies keep a virtual bookshelf for you that you can download from as you want, but I imagine since Amazon is doing it everyone else either is or will be soon too.
Oh, Baen books has a e-bookstore that's pretty solid. So if you read any of their sci-fi/fantasy titles that might also work for you.
I'm not terribly sure how helpful that all was, but hopefully something was of use. -
Quote:To be honest, I watched it on VHS over almost twenty years ago (fifteen maybe?) so my memory of it's a little fuzzy. I just recall it being a very bad sci-fi movie that probably could have been done well with the right budget and people involved ... and a robot with a crotch chainsaw. But mostly that it was incredibly, incredibly cheesy and didn't involve enough robots.I loved Robot Jox! That's the one where they used a chain weapon and it sawed one of the mech's arms off, right?
Oddly enough, that largely parallels my opinion of the current Transformers movies. Go figure eh. -
Quote:Yea, pretty much. That was the intent.I'm assuming it's a parody of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer? I saw the Swedish movie on Netflix, but haven't seen any of the trailers (presumably, the parody is of the American version?).

Quote:I don't have any pictures of my characters with it, but you can get a fairly good sense of it based off of the pictures they have on the paragon rewards section of the I21 info page thing.I see this as an exclusive reward available only to VIPers. Could someone please post pics of the various pieces. I have no idea what they look like and would rather not spend points on something I'll end up hating. I'm pretty sure I'll love it, I just want to see it all first.
I'd actually link to a picture from there for you, but they're kind of large.
I'm not a huge fan of the gloves or the boots since they don't really take a color very well, but I really do like the chest piece (even though it has somewhat the same problem), and the energy wings. The aura and the weapons are pretty cool too though. Overall I personally think they were a worthwhile choice, but that's just me.
