Help with changing alignment for epic pools.
You need to finish a patron's first arc to unlock patron pools. You'll get a badge. They're not especially long arcs.
Villains do not get villain epics just for starting villain, by the way. They have to run the arc as well.
Edit: patrol -> patron
So I talk to buddy, look at the plaques, pick scirroco. I still bloody can't get his epics?! What now, do i have to grind rep on top of all this?

You mean Arbiter Rein?
You should have been able to Scirocco. Did you then go to Scirocco and do his first arc?

There seems to be a misunderstanding about the PPP/APPs.
Every one of the base 10 AT gets access to Ancillary Power Pools after (IIRC) lvl 35 now. Regardless of alignment. Now that any AT can start hero or villain, that really doesn't matter in that regard anymore.
There are also Patron power pools that get unlocked by some level 40ish arcs run on the villain side. You have to be a villain or rogue to run them. After you run the arc you get access to them.
Epic ATs are a bit different...VEATS get only the patron pools if they unlock. HEATS don't get either (again, going from memory so could be wrong), but your concern is with a mastermind so.
There isn't any trick other than that. You just have to run one arc to get access to the patron pools. If you don't want to do them you have the ancillary pools. If you do want access to the patron pools, then you've gotta run one of the patron arcs. Its that simple.
The story behind the patron pools are that you have earned the favor of the patrons by doing stuff for them, so they give you access to their powers. Villains never, ever got access to them without running the arc. Just with Going Rogue (issue 18) allowing side switching did they open up the non-patron pools for villains to create parity. Even before that, you could only have access to the specific pool for the patron you ran the arc for, then they opened it up to all with just running one arc. At this point in the game, it doesn't matter what you started out as, as long as you are a villain/rogue at some point and do their arc. After that you have access forever. Other than you have to be a villain/rogue to get the arc to begin with, it has nothing to do with alignment.
Thank you for the help. I was annoyed when I made the post, so i hope it wasn't over the top. I guess I'll keep going with the arc then when I have time. Thanks again everyone, appreciate it.
My level 35 brute started as a villain (last December) and did the alignment missions and is currently Rogue. I just discovered that I cannot get the villain epic pool powers as a Rogue. So I am going to take the time and convert back to villain, then train for level 35 and take Soul mastery from Ghost widow. Then keep working on becoming a rogue again and eventually a Hero.
Before I do that, do I have all the information correct?
Champion Heroes: The Wu Jen Adept(50)/Major Madcap(50)/Panther Ice(43)/Nightshadow Dragon(42)
Champion Villains: Freezing Night(49)/Tactical Widow(44)/Umbral Servant(38)/Mister Mechanical(33)
You certainly can get the villain epics as a rogue. All of the villain contacts function just fine for a rogue, because rogues are considered villains for content purposes. Talk to Arbiter Rein in front of the Grandville tower to get started.

If you have already started Sciroccos, hop to it, if you haven't started any yet, Black Scorpions is fastest and easiest, and it doesnt matter whos you do, unless you care about the badge.
I would recommend also doing Scirocco's second arc. It won't effect your pool choices, but it is one of the best (imo) written arcs in the game.

@Inquisitor
My request is changing the lvls for epic power pools within City of Heroes Freedom I think it's a better idea to have the epics go 35, 38, 41, 44 instead of the 6 lvl gap from 35 to 41 between the first and second epic powers.
I'm very frustrated right now. I spent days doing the tips and finally the alignment to get to vigilante, then ground them again for days to get to villain all because I want the Mu Mastery epics.
So although this was just no fun (don't like red side), I did it because I made the mistake of starting hero side to have people to play with.
Finally I got to villain status, still(!) can't access villain epics. So I talk to buddy, look at the plaques, pick scirroco. I still bloody can't get his epics?! What now, do i have to grind rep on top of all this?
Please tell me what the heck I have to do to simply get the Mu Mastery on my mastermind who I started blue side. If I gotta grind all that rep for scirocco just to get the epics then forget it, that is unacceptable grind.
Heroes get hero epics if they start that side, villains get villain epics if they start that side, so why the brutal punishment for switching sides. Why can't I just pick the villain epics once I am full villain? It takes hours of play for four days minimum to switch sides, and you have to go vigilante in between too!
Please tell me I missed some stuff and it isn't this hard to get villain epics. I could grind a new MM to 40 started as a villain in the time I do the unfun grind to simply choose the Mu Mastery.
Thanks.
