Quote:i would love to see jetpacks as a costume peice. weather its craftable of bought from the storeQuote:Jet packs really? Do players really want jet packs? This is the first time I have seen this request. Hmmm I dont know about this one. I just dont see super heroes having jet packs. Why would a superhero ever want to leave the ground? I dont even think our game even supports flight.

Controllers.
I know, I know, they can do some awesome things. They have Illusion Control which admittedly is pretty cool. And every now and then I watch someone on my team play one and think, "I need to make one of those!"
And it will never make it past level 20. I don't know what it is about them, but I can't stand playing them. It's not the control primary, because I like Doms just fine. It's not the buffing secondary because I have multiple Corruptors and a Defender. But for some reason combining them just drives me crazy.
I'm also not that fond of Tanks. Brutes are what Tanks want to be when they grow up. I think there might be some sort of pupal stage before they can fully embrace their inner desire to SMASH though. -
Yep. It's like they had several ideas for different trials, couldn't (or didn't have the time to) figure out how to flesh each out indvidually, and then said, "screw it" and just mashed them together.

The current best guide for this is over here. Assuming you never pay again on the new account beyond the first free month it will be at Tier 2 for having a retail code applied to it.

The Mayhem/Safeguard missions aren't available via Ouroboros. The only way to redo one that you have outleveled is to find another character with that mission and join them.
However, that would not help you in this case. You only get the bonus power the first time you sucessfully complete those missions.
As an alternate one of you could dip into the Medicine Pool, but that's probably not what you're looking for. The are two temp version that I know of, first is from the Physician Day Job Accolade. Easy to get, renewable, but somewhat time consuming.
You're probably better off visiting the Auction Houses and picking up the craftable version. I have no idea what the power or it's salvage are currently going for though.
If you're looking for a self rez, you'll need to create a new character with one as part of their powerset. The only other temp version is from the Master Architect Badge and only works in the AE. -
Yes, sorry. I don't dislike Sutter so much I can't say the name. I just rather stupidly left it off. >.<
It's not so much the difficulty of the TF that bothers me, it's just that it's a rehash of Apex after the first mission. Even the final fight of the TF uses similar mechanics for the big bad. I also dislike all the timeline problems of Sutter although I21 seems to be force correcting those with the new Galaxy revamp.
This is all my own opinion, obviously, and I'm sure that there's tons of players who enjoy it. It's just not a TF I'd want to repeat. I think the most jarring part is that it came out at the same time as Morty Kal, which I think is so well done. It's like they had a new map for Sutter and then only after the first mission was finished realized you couldn't have a one mission task force. -
Quote:By itself? No. For me that would mean I subscribe simply to find out what happens next. And I don't. I like the story, but if I couldn't stand the game itself I'd be gone.1: Is the lore of this game significant enough to be a reason to subscribe?
Quote:2: Is the lore of this game fundamentally broken? That is to say, contradictary, messy, and poorly written?
Off the top of my head there's only two contacts I have to pretend don't exist for my sanity: Daedalus and Sister Airlia. They're just terrible and pointless.
And one scene that's terrible: Tyrant telling my character off for leaving Praetoria even after I've proven more loyal to him than his own Praetor. It's rather jarring. I understand why from a game-play perspective you need to leave Praetoria, but it seems strange to continue allowing me to be so loyal up until he apparently decides to tell me off for no reason.
The Sutter TF is a mess of timeline snarls. The new starting zone seems to be an attempt to make it so we've always been at war with Eastasia, which will at least help clean up the Sutter timeline.
I don't know what the Crucible/Fort Trident are in game lore. But honestly whoever designed those zones needs to never be allowed to create anything to be added to the game ever again. They can program, they can work on other people's ideas, they can fetch coffee. But when ideas are called for in a design meeting they should not be allowed to talk.
Quote:3: Do you like the current direction the lore is taking?
Marcus Cole is:
The best modern hero ever as Statesman.
The best ancient hero ever as Imperious. (Technically not named Marcus Cole, but c'mon.)
The best (worst?) Nazi ever as Reichsman.
The best (worst?) autocratic warlord ever as Tyrant.
I half-expect to someday meet the leader of the Rikti: M'Rcus Kol
If we are moving away from this with First Ward and the Coming Storm, then I suppose I'm thrilled with current direction of the game. And maybe someday we can visit a dimension or world where Marcus Cole isn't already the best.
Quote:4: Would you like the development team to spend a significant amount of time fixing all the old lore, even if that meant spending an issue not moving the game's story forward and just patching things up?
I understand that rewriting older stories does not pay the bills like new content does and I can't fault Paragon Studios with keeping the lights on at the office. No matter how much I want them to fix my pet peeves. -
Quote:I think 300 days means you left after Shades of Gray/Going Rogue was released? So you missed issues 19-20.5.So, under the non-Incarnate parameters, what should I be experiencing that has been added in the past 300 days? Barring that, what has been added in the past 300 days for a very mildly-interested Incarnate user (I think my main got like one Incarnate enhancement or whatever before I quit; I can't really remember).
Content-wise for non-incarnates not a whole lot has changed.
I19.5 saw the creation of Weekly Strike Targets (commonly know as WTF) which is a select task force and strike force that come with a very nice xp bonus for non-level 50s and a Notice of the Well for incarnates.
I20 brought a new TF and a new SF. The TF is okay, to be honest I've never run it again after the first time. Beautiful maps, poor writing, and rehashed fights. (It's the Apex TF for non-incarnates, so if you haven't done that one you might want to try it out.) YMMV, of course. The new SF, Mortimer Kal in Sharkhead is very well done. Short, fun fights, and with an awesome bonus for non-50's at the end that turns into a reward for incarnates after you hit 50.
There's more, including several QoL improvements, but those would be the content highlights. Obviously there's been a lot of additions to the incarnate system since then. -

Quote:I don't think there is a setting to lock it out; you'll just have to know that you won't be able to take it then.ah, cool, I'm guessing there is a setting somewhere to tell Mid's I'm not such a vet...
I believe they tried but the programming was getting too complicated for a free, volunteer project. -

Not entirely sure about the new look, but as it's a thousand times better than the old update plan I'll take what I can get.
Thank you, Paragon Studios, for listening and acting on our comments. I know redoing a planned art change this late in the development process was probably one of the last things you wanted, but I'm very grateful you did. -

Quote:First off, here's a link to more info on EnhancementsAlso a couple of newb questions I'll slip in. 1. Can multiple enchantments of the same type "stack" on a power?
I'm guessing you mean slotting more of the same type in one power? (Say you have 3 slots in an attack and you put one accuracy and two damage)
Then yes, they will work together. Due to diminishing returns however it's not worthwhile to slot more than three of any one type. There are things such as frankenslotting and with the incarnate powers you can get around the ED to some extent, but they aren't really important to just learning the game. For specific advice on how best to slot your character you'll want to head down to the appropriate AT subforum and ask there.
Quote:2. Do enchantments "spread" across to help with your toon (ex. Does run enhancements on sprint and speed(?) stack?
Multiple powers or buffs work together until you hit a hard cap, at which point they still "work", you just don't get any benefit.
Quote:3. Sets. Do they have to be on same power? I ask these questions to have a better build and not waste valuable enchantment slots.
Again, the subforum for the AT you're interested will be the best place to get slotting advice. If you're going to be playing with builds you'll want to check out Mid's, if you haven't already. -
The tram has both an entrance and an exit. Do not confuse the two.

Sorry, no flames. I do have a couple of comments though. I do like the idea of it rewarding double for non-incarnates and some incarnate xp for incarnates. Although just straight threads would probably be better than incarnate xp, since once you have them unlocked the xp portion would be useless. I'd think that rewarding incarnate xp would result in the people with the best chance of winning having the least incentive to fight since they're only going to get base rewards. I much rather see an astral merit rather than a random component as well.
As for them spawning level 54 bosses to aid them, that could be a problem. Does that mean Shivan Deathsurge is spawning level 54 bosses in an 8-20 zone? That's not really going to be fun for people trying to run missions in the zone. They'd have to be on a pretty short leash to keep it so that lower level characters could still get around them. Just a beefed up GM would be fine with me.
Speaking of Shivan Deathsurge, these should probably just be a random chance to spawn new GM instead of a take off of existing ones. Deathsurge doesn't have a body to be reanimated by the Shivans. Nor does Caleb in Nerva. A Shivan Flyer in Grandville? Scrappy doesn't have a body either. Overall Redside is just not going to work for that theme.
It's also a problem that some of the GMs are spawned by player actions. Hunting for Caleb and getting a Shivan version instead may upset some people. It'd be better if the Shivan GMs were treated like Rikti or Zombie Invasions and became an extra zone event, only without the mass exodus of street mobs. -
Rackham (Dark/Fire Brute): Tier 4 Alpha/Tier 3 everything else
Mr. Knott A Nalien (Warshade): Tier 3 Alpha
2 other 50s with Tier 1 Alpha
6 other 50s with Alpha unlocked but unslotted
I have no real interest in progressing them. I'll slot Alphas as the shards drop but I tend to prefer new characters to replaying 50s with the exception of Rackham and Knott so the others aren't exactly swimming in Shard drops. -
On a slow? No, the break frees do nothing.
