    Yes. The level of the enhancement doesn't matter as far as getting set bonuses goes. A level 10 enhancement and a level 50 enhancement from the same set in the same power will give you the bonus for having two pieces of the set.

    It can affect your bonuses when you exemp to a lower level though. If you exemp too low for part of the set to count you only get the bonus for the pieces that are still within the right level range.

    Go nuts? The Huns were an actual people, it was the comparison that was intended to be unflattering. There isn't anything offensive in talking about the Huns, I think. Compare that to "Nip" where nobody has called themselves that AFAIK.

    You've stumped me on Bosch though. I knew there was a painter with that as a last name and Google returns hits about an appliance manufacturer?

    Incidentally, I'm not defending having the word "nip" in the censored list. It's just that of all the ways to use the word that's the only reason for it to be censored that I can think of. I don't think it's even been in use since the 60's at the latest.

    I agree that someone needs to go and weed through both the chat filter and the Mission Architect filter. Wasn't the chat filter just lifted from another NCSoft game and then added to every so often? It's probably full of random words that most people don't even know could be used offensively. I'd guess it's a case of "better safe than sorry" because people are just stupid and easily offended. *shrug* Beats me what the best way to decide a list of bad words is.

    I doubt that's why. It's WW2 slang so I understand that it's not the most common phrase anymore but "Nip" is a derogatory word for a Japanese person. It is comes from "Nippon", an Anglicization of the Japanese name for Japan. It used to be a fairly common racial slur.

    I agree that there are words in the filter list that shouldn't be though. I'd be happier with multiple filter lists, one for names, one for Mission Architect titles, and one for the general chat. Each one could be more specific about what they filter instead of the generic "it's all bad" we have now.

  10. Well, there's nothing stopping you from asking. I'd be suprised if they did it for you, but it never hurts to ask.

    Other than resubbing the old account you could wait until a free activation weekend rolls around. I couldn't tell you when the next one of those would be. There was one when I14 came out to show off the MA, I doubt I15 will have one though. Maybe the next 2xp weekend?

    At least you know nobody will take the name from you in the meantime.

    Honest question, how is it too unbalancing for PvP? I'm not sure what you could get out of it. Die, load up on inspirations and return? Can't you do that now?

    I don't see how it would mess with Hami raids either. Don't you count as having left the zone if you hosp to base? So you'll still have to leave, free up a slot if someone's trying to get in, and then try to return. Not sure what the difference is between clicking at the zone entrance and a base teleporter.

    This doesn't actually solve any of the problems, just handwaves them away. It also means adding something like the Pocket D's teleport suppression to all maps you think vehicles aren't appropriate for, a process that's bound to be buggy. Since I don't think there's any other way to keep me from using a power in a specific location.

    I don't have a clue how you're going to stop me from strafing and I have no clue how you expect me to "sink," the water here is pretty shallow. I suppose a huge -jump (worse than Granite?) will keep people from offroading too much, but you know there will be Kinetics players who take that as a personal challenge and get the cars to jump anyway. Expect to see "Off Road Rally" style events and cars hopping everywhere.

    It also doesn't address the big honking problem how do you use powers with vehicles?

    The zones aren't big enough for this to matter, really. Where are you going to go in a jet? To the tram/ferry? Where are you boating to?


    Unaddressed problems include:

    There are a lot of problems with the idea.

    1. Movement.
    Forward and back,even turning - ok. But you can do things that a vehicle can't - such as strafe (direct side to side or angular movement.) It doesn't work with a vehicle.

    2. Terrain.
    Not every place has roads, or even makes sense for "off roading." Go look at Founder's Falls. Go look at Crey's Folley. Or Eden. Try to get to the north islands in Talos. What, do you have a kubelwagen? Look at the Pit in Sharkshead. Try to use your travel power (car) to get up to some of the doorways in high caves. Cars and motorcycles would be more like Superspeed - horizontal movement, period. And look - I'll be blunt - flat out *stupid* tied with, say, Combat Jumping or Superjump.

    3. Combat.
    You get ambushed on the way. How do you fight? Just have your powers blast out of the rolled up windows? How do you buff or debuff? EVERY power would need a new animation. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Then you want people with motorcycles instead of cars. Redo ALL the animations AGAIN. And they still wouldn't make sense - how do you use Footstomp in a car? Or Stalagmites?

    5. Making "sense."
    This was touched on in terrain - how do you get across water? How about the Shadow Shard? And if you want downright ridiculous looking, go do the heroside 25-34 Respec. Look at the Sky Skiffs inside of rooms or the reactor room. It makes no sense and looks *ridiculous.* Something that, yes, the devs try to avoid.

    That's just a quick overview of some of the issues with having vehicles as a travel power.

    Couple Questions

    Yes and no. The second build will start out as an untrained build of equal level. So you will be able to immediately start training and selecting powers up to the level of the first build.

    The two builds will always have the same amount of xp regardless of which you play with. Think of it as having two sets of powers on one character. (not to imply that you can select a different powerset, it's just easier to think of it that way sometimes.)

    If you switch to Build Two at level 10, gain two levels, train and select your slots and power then switch to Build One you'll find it a level 10 build as you left it with the level up arrow flashing.

    I laughed too. Last year the estimate for losses of the Motion Picture Industry due to counterfeiting and pirated movies was more than $6 billion. Most of the counterfeits came from China. I'd hate to see what a bad system to deal with this would be like.

    I doubt the RIAA fares any better over there.

    It still doesn't address the problem of buffing them equally though. Even going with every power involving regen, recov, def and res buffed, some sets will find these new buffs far more useful than others.

    Compare Dark (3 powers) with something like Radiation (7 powers) or Cold (8 powers).
