So SSA #1 where "heroes" get to kill off a number of their own through sheer incompetence.
-
It's not just stalkers. My TW/Energy Aura scrapper apparently bathes too regularly for Coyote to follow him while cloaked so I just left him at the start of the mission, cleared to the end, went back, turned off energy cloak and then slogged back the the end of the mission again.
With Energy Cloak and a stealth proc he should be able to tap dance on anything short of an eyeball or drone. (They didn't give stalkers TW so I made a TW stalker out of a scrapper.) I also have a DP/Dev blaster with cloaking device and a proc that should be as invisible but lately content has been saying no stealth for you. Marshal Blitz seeing my DP/Dev with 65' of stealth before being able to get into smoke grenade range was sorta the last straw for that character. -
I saw the adverts and thought there had been some big brouhaha initially. The lack of chatter about that in the other channels I watch made that seem less likely after some time.
-
It's all well and good to start a new channel but when you're spamming your advertisements for it could you perhaps lay off the battle to overthrow the evil empire rhetoric?

Quote:http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=135 has Coulomb2's most recent summary with over a 1000 rolls recorded. The odds of getting a non-common salvage merit are probably alot lower than 26%, either that or I must be incredibly unlucky. In 3 DA playthroughs with 3 different toons (two of which were played at +4, or +4-3 with the incarnate shift), I've *never* had anything but common salvage drop in those tables. I even tried picking a couple of astral merits with one toon just to see if I would get lucky and get the empyrean, but not even that worked.
Quote:814 Commons (76.4%)
191 Uncommons (17.9%)
47 Rares (4.4%)
13 Very Rare (1.2%)
72 Astral (83.7%)
14 Empyrean (16.3%) -
Quote:You can get a component roll the each time you complete each arc in DA for the first time. Note that being on a team without your Alpha slot unlocked that completes an arc will give you a reward table that will count for your "free" table for the arc even though you can't pick the component. After that you can get a component every 20 hours after choosing that reward, which arc doesn't matter at that point just the time since that reward was last chosen on the timer. Approximately 74/20/5/1 common/uncommon/rare/very rare. You get a component roll every time you complete a story-arc. And Gabriel has a weekly quest that gives you two (I think) Empyreal merits for doing all the DA story arcs.
And DA is to iXP as glaciers are to speed.
On the upside you'll be able to run all of Heather's maps in your sleep. -
Three reasons I don't PvP:
1. No level playing field. Builds worth positive number multiples of the influence cap can play against a build with only SOs, and be at no handicap against the SO build.
2. It involves PvP.
3. It involves PvPers. -
Now I wish I could remember that site that had people busting some of the so-called impossible poses featured on escher girls. They even had an average build dude doing the 'impossible' bust and butt pose seemingly without much effort (in that it didn't seem to even disrupt his stride while walking).

Quote:The Incarnate system is about as alt-unfriendly (or even alt-hostile) as you can get in this game. There are plenty of alts in this game - there'll always be people running the lower level Trials
Accolade powers are about the only thing close, they have to be obtained with the character you want them on. The big difference is the tasks for accolade powers don't require you to have at least three purple sets on that character that were obtained solely by farming them on that character.
As we reach Omega the extreme effort required to stay current will mean there will be only "mains". Other games with raids have gear resets and alternate gear progression for a reason. -
Quote:Basically endgame raids are bad game design. If you are trying to use incentives to force people to do something thats not fun...
your game design is BAD!
That other game has the advantage of being able to dangle gear with minimal increases over the last raid in front of the players and gear resets to get people caught up. With the Incarnate system the devs will have a Gurren Lagon power spread, from comically small to throwing galaxies around.
Can't stand iTrials, if I want a raid grind I still have my sub to the one that has the money and manpower to do it, and grinding DA burned me out after just T3 Alpha, Interface, and Judgment with a whopping 30% into the next two on one character. -
The concise Trinity blame system:
If the tank dies, it's the healer's fault.
If the healer dies, it's the tank's fault.
If a dps dies, it's their own damn fault. -

Thank you for actually posting this on your own boards and not making us sift through auxiliary social media or video sites.
-
Anything that's in a UStream for one if you count only official sources and not fan submissions/transcriptions to these boards. The i23 preview on that funky powerpoint site is another.

Quote:Yes.Speaking of things that are annoying, does anyone else find it as irritating that NCSoft apparently wants you to go everywhere else BUT their official site to get news and information about upcoming features? I don't want to have to go Facebook, Twitter, or Google + - the news should be here, where it belongs.
Just don't push it too hard or the social media addicts will spam you with image macros. $DIETY forbid they use one of their unpaid interns to make up a text version of those way too long and undirected videos. -
Heather, Heather, Heather, Ephram, change character, repeat was the implication I assumed.

Quote:Are you doing that on SOs or with permadom and def softcaps?Todays game can bore the heck outta me, but I still love this game (weird). Before posting this I was solo +3/8 with a lvl 37 grav/psi dom (not bragging..making a point) and I never died once. I Tank (herd) with my fire/kin fender. I herd the aggro cap (hotfeet herds better than those WP tanks =p ) to a corner and melt them. +4/8 (S/L baddies and no imps). \
We solo TFs and Trials and GMs and laugh at AVs. The game has not kept up with the players. When was the last time you went to bloody bay for a temp power 'cause you actually needed it?
I won't argue that the players have gotten more savvy and the new powersets stronger because they have but most of what makes the game boring is being able to turn anything into a tankmage with IOs and now Incarnate powers, and that is each player's choice to do so. Game too easy for you? Don't use Set IOs.
Unfortunately that is as far as any particular player can control the difficulty without avoiding content. I don't enjoy Judgement and Barrier spam so I must either avoid content above level 44 or put up with Gundam level power spam. Even if they put in a challenge setting to disable incarnate clickies it wouldn't be something that'd ever get pugged. -
The journalists probably saw the ever-present "healer lft" in help.

**NO DATA**
A week late but congratulations on the 1000th roll and a well earned salute to everyone that has stuck it out to see it through this far, you've got far more grit than I do. -
Quote:I have actually tried the presentation, far clunkier to use than text. This sounds much like the complaints by some of my staff for software they haven't even tried to use.
The swooping around is cool the first couple of clicks but then it doesn't make up for the tiny amount of information displayed at once. Hero_of_Steel's summary is much more readable. Also text doesn't need a plugin to be installed. -
KB is the bane of AoE, KD is the BFF of AoE.
The proc is a weak statement that KB isn't the right way to play because it doesn't cause more or bigger numbers.
As for AoE centric design when you only have to spam one power on trash or bosses, alone or in groups, something has gone horribly awry. -
My two complaints with the converter proc:
1. It's unique.
2. It's a level 50 set. Endgame isn't (well, wasn't) the point of this game. There should be more attuned stuff you can get at the low levels.
A very minor #3, aoe, AoE, AOE!!!! game design tends to not last long. The gorilla found that one out. Yes it's flashy and starts out feeling epic but when everything is about AoE and can be done with AoE you don't have anywhere left to go. -
It's more trying to salvage SSA2+ than trying to destroy people's excitement. If the Devs learn (the right things) from SSA1 then States and crew won't have been lost for nothing.
