  1. 9783_Dollar_Man, I have adapted your build for a Kin/FA brute which I am planning to run. I changed it around a bit, got just a smidgeon more defense, but managed to knock down the endurance costs a bit (perhaps one might be able to use the Recharge Alpha Slot instead of the Endurance Reduction). Thanks for posting your builds BTW, they were extremely helpful!

  9. Just tried it out with the new driver, no dice. My other thought is that it might be a settings issue somewhere. I can try going back to a restore point and trying it (this issue has only just manifested yesterday, and was working fine before).
  10. I'm running Windows 7 64x, I have an NVidia GT8800 graphics card, Intel Core2 Duo processor, ASUS motherboard (can't remember which model ATM).

    I've got a full CPU-Z Report to post, but since it's so long is there one part or several parts which I shold post or omit?

    I'll also try updating graphics card drivers as per instructions on the other page.
  11. Last night as I was playing CoH went randomly to a blank, black screen. The screen remained black, and the windows 7 blue circle-thingy came up (like the computer was working to do something). After waiting for about a minute in hopes the graphics would come back, I pressed the windows button which opened the prompt: Close the program and search for a solution, OR Close the program OR Continue running. I closed the program.

    This happened twice before I powered down the computer and checked the C drive for errors (there were none). When I logged on this morning I made sure to verify the game files (no issues there) and then promptly had the same issue during the first mission I ran.

    Do you think this might be a software or hardware issue (i.e.an issue with CoH, or an issue with my computer)? If it might be a hardware issue, what can I run to test or repair my hardware? If it's a software issue, how should I attempt to fix it?

  12. I have a question relating to but slightly different from the original post.

    The situation is that I have a Rogue Brute, and am looking to get "Born in Battle" and "Invader" Accolades, and have noticed that the accolade powers these badges are synonymous with accolade powers granted by "Portal Jockey" and "Atlas Medallion" accolades respectively. I've found in the past that the Hero-flavored badges are easier and more fun to get than the Villain ones.

    Now, if I were to turn Hero/Vigilante, and earn these (Portal Jockey and Atlas Medallion) badges, would I be granted the accolade and related powers? Furthermore if I move back to Rogue (via Villain), will I retain the accolade powers as if I had completed "Born in Battle" and "Invader"? The alternate case should then be true as well, but I haven't tested it yet; would I retain the accolade power from "Demonic" when I move to Hero/Vigilante as if I had completed "Archmage"?

    I hope I've been clear enough... If not I can try to clarify further.

    I am rather confused as to how this power works, and my Search-fu brought me to this thread... Here's what I'm unclear about:

    Phalanx Fighting yields 3.75% base defense (unenhancable), with a 2.25% bonus (enhanchable) for each teammate within range, correct? With 0 teammates in range (i.e. solo), does it still give the base 3.75% defense, or does that only occur once there is at least 1 teammate in range?

  17. I find that I am an A when I start a new character (I bid low for my level 50s, and just wait for them to fill, since I've got some time to kill).

    When I'm near 50, have a large amount of money stored up, and have good prospects on making more I turn into a B.

    When I waste all my money and need to refill the bank, I become a D.

    At 50, I cycle between B and D, with some A thrown in for luxury IOs.

  19. So I'm looking to solo my first AV...

    I'm playing a Claws/Dark Armor scrapper, darn close to softcap to melee defense (with one small purple inspiration I can just get there), but there's also the -7.5% to-hit debuff from Cloak of Fear for a little breathing room.

    I've determined that my single target DPS from a chain consisting of Strike, Slash, Follow Up, and Focus is 269.43 DPS (from real performance, viewed and calculated from Herostats) while fighting against a Battle Maiden Elite Boss.

    Is there an AV that would be the "best" to start out with, keeping in mind that I do lethal damage, and am basically soft-capped to Melee?

  22. I was wondering if it is possible to get particular temporary powers AGAIN (as in, after they have been fully used up) through the flashback system.

    For Example: I want to get the Wedding Band temporary power again (I've plum used it all up) for my Claws/Dark Scrapper (who would be just plain nasty with capped or nearly capped resists to just about everything but Energy and Toxic). I've already gotten it naturally by running the Stephanie Peebles arc.

    Is it possible to keep going back and flashbacking the arc to get the power after I use it up, or is it a one-and-done thing?

    I would imagine the answer is applicable to all arc-generated temporary powers, though I don't know of any others quite as useful as the Wedding Band.
