Quote:Except I can already change the color of my pulse rifle in the Costume section via Weapons Customization, just like an Assault Rifle or Axe. So this analogy doesn't hold water, unless we're talking about applying it to pets and their weapons. I should be able to change the weapon color on the Costume section, and the effect color in the Powers section. This was explained with the new options for Spines. You are allowed to either:
1) Change the color/appearance of your spines/claws/weapons
OR
2) Change the color/appearance of the effects associated with your spines/claws/weapons
But not both. In other words, if you wanted to color the muzzle flash of your pulse rifle, you would have to give up the ability to customize your pulse rifle. Probably not what you want.
Hopefully once MM pets are customizable (and they are not currently for much the same reason Granite Armor isn't customizable -- they have to change their costume to reflect upgrades) MM's won't be getting the short end of the stick so much.
Bots are obviously a whole other bailiwick altogether. -
Makes sense... you and they ally on either side of you, ala a phlanx marching shoulder-to-shoulder.

Quote:OTOH, I've never had problems defeating Zombies that use the same code in the Halloween events using my low level characters, besides their Toxic damage. Is there empirical data on this matter, or is this just based upon subjective observations? I tried looking up this topic in the Paragon Wiki, without much success. It isn't that they resist damage, it's that they have a native level despite having no visible level. That code basically says that you do as much damage to it as you would do to an even-con of the same rank. Problem being that a level 5 doing the same numerical damage to something that has level 30 or level 50 hit points as they do to a level 5 is struggling to whittle it down. If they somehow made it so that you did the same proportion of the total hit points instead, the disparity would only be in how much enhancement the level 5 has compared to a level 30 or level 50. That would even out the offense side of the no level mob code to what the defensive side of it is, but I doubt it would be easy to do.

Ack, I'm being watched!
Thanks for the clarification -
Quote:Indeed, that's the only saving grace. Although I personally work for a living, if I had the day off or worked part-time, and was playing in the morning only to be DCd at noon for maintenance, I would be a little peeved. It's not, but 2 days a week instead of 5? that is an improvement.
But... since it's only two days a week, it's less aggravating. In comparison, it could be worse for Europena players... at least it's not like Australia where maintenance can happen in the middle of the early evening, during prime time -
That's the bridge too far? Axes, swords, maces, arrows, assault rifles, and other deadly weapons are OK, but scythes are where you draw the line, eh?
Edit: still waiting for a Great Sword set/ weapon customization -
Quote:Wait, does this announcement posted yesterday not count?Wow, log in the next day and the store is STILL unavailable as well as my extra slots. And still not even an announcement about it.
Now we add poor communication about the problem to my complaint about this.It was on the Community Digest.

Quote:Yar, I r confused when BAB said they had a tool for extracting animations:If I had to guess, I'd say it's something like:
"You made a tool to help with power customization, so surely that same tool could be easily adapted to (completely different thing)."
Because having a hammer is a huge help when you need to do some neurosurgery.
Quote:One of our programmers wrote a python script that parsed through power definitions, collected all of the animation/FX scripts associated with each power, dug in those and found all of the FX scripts and all of the particle scripts, copied everything over to a separate location (where they could be changed without affecting the original FX/Particle scripts) (...)

Quote:Does this apply to Stone Armor as well?
The brown ‘tints’ in customized Earth Control should now be gone.
Edit: nope, apparently not. Can't even get black on Stone Armor set, even though it's a naturally occurring rock color. Probably too busy looking for that ice cream scoop -

I'd enjoy new skeletons, but even having the capability to switch idle/ running animations for the current Male/ Female/ Huge skeletons would be keen, and more so, wouldn't involve creating new animations for powers (the real possible problem with any new skeletons). For example, you could have Bestial idle/ run, Jittery idle/ run, etc. for exisitng Male/ Female/ Huge characters. Having more options like Female Huge is always nice, and then custom idle/ run animations can be applied to those skeletons too per the player's preference.
Of course, if new skeletons were to be made for player characters, that Python code they used for Power Customization could be handy for exporting animations, making slight adjustments for new skeletons, and applying them, in order to expedite such a large endeavor over every powerset -
Yeah, because it totally happened already

Quote:Lamentable but true. When I was at Hero Con last year, we went to see the Golden Gate, but it was too foggy in October to get a decent view. So we went to the wharf instead and had some warm clam chowder, chili, and coffeeI used to live in Oakland. Walking in San Francisco is so overrated. It's all foggy and cold and there are hippies everywhere. Stay in your hotel room and play computer games.

Quote:AFAIK, gray rep does not effect total rep. It is given by someone who has neutral or red rep.So, the grey boxes? I've been trying to figure out why they are grey and what that means. I think that if someone tries to give you rep + (maybe -, im not sure) but they have a lower rep count then you it shows up as grey.
Can anyone else confirm this? Or am I like way late and we already have a post about grey boxes? -

AFAICT, it says "Erase Records from Crey Computers". This was after a took a hand magnifier to the screen
IOW, the OP is saying that Crey is allied with AE. But I think everyone already knew that -
Funny, I was just thinking about it last week, but forgot to search for any info until today.

Been on the PS3 lately, but I'm still online every week or so. -
The only thing I know is that there will be updates; what they are I don't know. I hope that ToT door spawns start using invasion code, for example, so players can ToT regardless of zone. Ditto for the Winter Event.

To also elaborate, the 1st party offline architect never got off the ground. It was an idea that was mentioned in the 2007 survey, but never saw the light of day.

Quote:I personally didn't see any problems with the old system. I was able to make many custom bosses with little to no offensive powers and still get full XP for each defeat. This was obviously the way it should have stayed, because it was already balanced. I mean, it's not like I was trying to earn retconned badges or anything, just do a little risk-free XP grinding and ticket earning. Smart farmers would have been distracted by the new SSK system anyhowGot to love it when the Devs implement a solution for a problem that didn't really exist. People haven't been farming customs since they took away the "Kill X Custom Enemies" badges back in issue 15 and the new SSK and Difficulty settings did much more to kill AE farming than any of these changes did. All this did really was deal major collateral damage to non-farm AE arcs.
