  1. You can slot a chance for smashing damage IO in it; while possibly a good idea for Controllers ( I have it on one ), Dominators aren't as damage-starved.

Most of the plant power animations have visible seeds being thrown. You crossbred/mutated/genetically modified the plants rather than yourself. The low hit points of the controller also makes this AT more thematic than the others. You are a normal human in physical terms as well.

In this case though the Science Origin might be more appropriate.
Hmmm. Perhaps the character found the plants on a Portal Corp expedition, so they are "natural" plants. Still; generally you want a /Magic or /Tech origin for /TA to light the Oil Slick.
  3. For Dominators Mind/Psi. Natural origin; he/she is a character who has achieved psionic powers by intense mental training. Spent the last 20 years meditating or something of the sort.

For Controllers Illusion/TA. Special effects equipment and hi-tech arrows for a Tech origin; and the /Tech origin power lets you light Oil Slick.
  4. My Ill/Rad, Entropic Girl has mutant powers based on entropy; she "brings disorder to the minds and bodies of her enemies". She weakens their minds, causing them to see things that aren't there; she disrupts the structure of their bodies, leaving them more vulnerable to attack.

My Ill/TA Rabbit Trick is a bunnygirl; the result of a Circle of Thorns mage who decided to try his hand at stage magic and did better than he intended. "Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!" And yes, I WAS thinking of Bullwinkle.

My Ill/Sonic Sound Effectz is a renegade Freakshow who creates illusions and sonic effects from his implants. His motivation for being a hero? Freakshow don't NEED motivations! Besides, violence is violence, and the heroes have cool stuff he can weld to himself.

For a concept for /Therm - I have an Earth/Therm named Promethean Flame who stole the Fire of Life from the gods and can grant life to the unliving, as well as heal or enhance the already alive.
  5. I'd choose Frostworks, simply because it leaves the recipient mobile. You can't get anything out of Spirit Tree unless everyone stays near it.
  6. It's a nice combo. Two advantages I'll mention. First; the extra control in /TA means that you'll be able to handle Confusion resistant enemies better, which tends to be one of the weaknesses of Plant/. Especially important if you intend to be fighting Nemesis much ( and who knows what will show up in Going Rogue ). Second, Acid Arrow and Disruption Arrow lets you get the most out of Seeds of Confusion by weakening enemy resistance/defense without lowering their ability to hurt each other.

Ah, if only they make it so you can blow up a confused enemy instead...

Yes; as I understand it, it was initially thought that MMs would mainly tank by using their minions to draw aggro and sacrificing them. Instead, MMs acted rather protective of their minions, and Brutes stepped into the tank role.

    /Traps?

Oh, definitely. I'd love /Traps controllers. I do wonder if they'd get the Mastermind Detonator, or the Defender/Corruptor Time Bomb for a tier 9. Unlike the other 2 they would actually be able to use Time Bomb just fine.
  10. Doctor Aeon: A complete print version of Girl Genius.

Doctor Vahzilok: Blu-Ray version of Young Frankenstein.

Snaptooth: A fresh bucket of blood to dye his cap with.

    Nemesis: A copy of Illuminatus!

  11. Mostly books. The Mistborn trilogy, The Spriggan Mirror, Sweet Silver Blues, two Sonja Blue books; Princeps' Fury; some others.

Season two and three of Babylon 5. All I need is season 4.

    New video card.
  12. Ah; I thought you might do that. Probably for the best; and at least it's not like the Halloween event with the constant darkness. That starts to grate after a while.

    Praetorian Sally

Given what we know of the background of Praetoria, "Devoured Sally" comes to mind as a possibility.
  14. I've always been told that 2 50 IOs and the +End proc are a bit better than 3 level 50 End IOs. Or with 4 slots, 3 End IOs and the +End proc; the advantage of the +end proc is that ED doesn't affect it.
  15. I do wish Controllers got Pain. As a mostly soloist I can't get the most out of it. A /Pain Corruptor is saddled with a bunch of powers than are useless solo; and a Mastermind doesn't really benefit from the perk that /Pain has over /Empathy, self boosts. What do I care if my Bots/Pain gets a boost to Brawl? Controllers on the other hand have both pets and do a significant amount of personal damage; they'd get the most out of /Pain solo.
  16. "You know, if you join Arachnos they'll give you a spiffy helmet to cover up that face."
  17. A crusade of heroes.
    An ambivalence of Praetorians.
    A cabal of villains.

    A horde of Hellions.

    An ossuary of Skulls.

    A ticking of Clockwork.

    A sorority of Knives.

    A quiver of Longbow.

    A swarm of Goldbrickers.

    A hentai of Kheldians.

    A shamble of zombies.

    A mussolini of Council.

    An aggravation of Malta.

    New Archetypes?

An idea I've been thinking of is what I call the Leader Archetype; Pets/Attack. The primary would be a modified version of a Mastermind primary, with the personal attacks replaced with basic armor powers of appropriate them for the set. Leader Necromancy would have the three main defense toggles of Dark Armor for example; at somewhat lower strength for balance perhaps. The secondary would be attack powers; Ranged, Assault or Melee would all work. It would also have low HP, but a form of Bodyguard to make up for it. It would also have a Inherent that acted like a hybrid of Gauntlet and Supremacy; both to help keep your pets alive and to give you a reason to keep them close.

The idea is to make up for the lack of buffs/debuffs with greater personal defenses and damage; and to give people the chance to play a "lead from the front" style pet user.
  22. I have one in the early twenties. It does feel a bit underpowered sometimes - Corruptor Energy Blast is like that - but flinging everything around like toys is great fun. Even things like CoT ghosts typically can be knocked around with a Hurricane + a barrage of Energy attacks. And they hate energy damage.

First, I did pick up Stimulant/Aid Self. Second, I find that the biggest survival enhancer is Freezing Rain + Hurricane; instead of pulling with the snipe, I drop Freezing Rain, get them bouncing and get in close so anything trying to leave the patch gets Hurricaned. If possible I shove them into a corner and pin them; remember than the debuffs of Freezing Rain and Hurricane persist for a short time; shoving them out of the patch doesn't un-debuff them. I went Hasten/Superspeed, both to stack with Steamy Mist for invisibility, and because Hasten helps a lot spamming Freezing Rain ( among other things, but Freezing is just that good ).

Hurricane if you haven't got it yet is very useful for keeping you alive; so many of the nastier enemies love to get into melee which debuffs them like crazy against Hurricane. I slot 2 endurance reduction/2 accuracy debuff as standard for that by the way.

I take the opposite tack. A robot character that is built with powers would be science. A robot like my Bots/Traps Pain Machine is Tech Origin, because while it personally is Science Origin, its powers are technological devices it uses.

Robots don't just come together naturally like a pocketwatch on the beach.
I tend to label robots/androids as Science Origin instead of technology. They were created by SCIENCE!.
  25. A Rikti Dropship; I cruise around the city bombing, zapping, and teleporting Rikti troops into unsuspecting groups of players.
