A bunch of graphics updates, some architecture...you know that really huge building, the one that is so tall that it's even a pain to fly over much less around? They replaced it with this fancy affair that has a nice big gap in the middle you can fly though.

It's not really paranoia when it's actually happened. Which is one reason why I've never gotten one (besides not actually wanting one), and why Samuel_Tow turns his to the wall - just in case.

Well, not really considering how broad those EULA terms are. If they actually took it literally and tried to enforce it, it looks to me like they are claiming the right to do everything from install a keylogger to steal your bank password, to remotely turn on your webcam and watch you walk around naked*. I don't really think they will, but the EULA really is written ridiculously broadly; so much so that NCSoft would be protested and sued out of existence if they actually tried to exploit it as written.



*Not that much of a joke; there was a school that did that with its take-home school issued laptop computers to "monitor the behavior" of the kids. It didn't turn out at all well when people found out.

Yes, EULAs are something of a joke. They are legally questionable at best, and if companies ever started to really try enforcing them on large scale they'd probably be forced out of business* if the resulting outcry didn't result in the government stepping in first.


*Because if people started to actually take them seriously, most people would react like Westley is or worse. No one would do business with anyone with a EULA, no one would want to scroll through lots of incomprehensible legalese for every last bit of software they use, no one would trust that it wasn't a trap.

A waste of slots in my opinion. I put an Accuracy into the single target attacks, and 1 Accuracy & 1 Endurance Reduction in the cone. The personal attacks are valuable for their -Resistance effect, not their damage.

Also, I probably wouldn't bother with Leadership powers; Storm and Demon Summon have too many good powers to grab. I'd have gotten Steamy Mist instead of Assault; it offers fire resistance and confusion protection, and is a good spot to stick a Karma or Steadfast -kb IO if you aren't picking up Combat Jumping or Hover before then.

Considering that they excused Dominators not getting anything proliferated with those plans, I find it highly unlikely they aren't planning to do anything.

However, do we really want a cheap set full of knockoff powers? Or a new set full of brand new powers & animations?

Oh, it's been addressed. Repeatedly. Unfortunately it appears to be a horribly intractable problem. At least now the pets don't flee and won't permanently avoid the spot where the Oil Slick used to be, which is what they used to do.

It also does Psionic/Smash instead of just Psionic, which is nice considering all the psi resistant/smashing weak robots you run into.

He may have been looking at the server status page, that seemed stuck on "Servers Down" for some reason.

Fallout III and some reading for me. Trying to get on when the servers were working badly or not at all seemed like it would be an exercise in frustration.

Did you choose "Minimize Launcher" in the setup options? I changed it to that and it vanished; I had to shut it down with the Windows Task Manager, restart it and changed it to "Launcher Remains on Desktop".

The people who could give meaningful feedback are the ones busy trying to fix the problem, too busy to post here even if they have accounts. The devs/community reps who post on the forums probably don't know what's wrong themselves; not their job, not their field.

People also asked for a literal backpack, and here it is. I've a number of "Natural" style characters for whom it makes a lot more sense than a cape. And I can see some of my Traps users getting it - after all, where are they storing all those gadgets they pull out?

They've just announced that the servers are back up; so no, it wasn't I 21.

Good luck enforcing that. Not only does it sound near impossible to enforce (are they going to have ranks and ranks of people monitoring chat just for this?), but if they actually succeeded it could easily turn into a public relations disaster. I can just see the human interest story now; "Couple meets through online game, is informed after wedding that they've been banned for their love!"

As was pointed out at the time however that was a half truth at best; the nerf was also applied to pets and pseudo pets that have only one attack and had no AI problems. As I recall, either Castle or Positron was finally cornered into admitting that a major reason for the nerf was to weaken "overperforming" powers like Lightning Storm.
