It's not the shortest Steelclaw post ever, and it may not be the best Steelclaw post ever, but it is certainly way up there in both categories.
I heartily endorse this idea and volunteer to write the newsletter.

Quote:It's nice to know you have your priorities straight now! <grin>And hmmmm...all of you guys who wish your wives would start playing City Of Heroes...it has a lot of pluses, but there are cons.
If she plays as avidly as you, you will find the house is not squeaky clean, Laundry piles up, you will find yourself eating more frozen dinners or take out especially on double XP weekends and when a new issue starts. Some nights she will poke you awake to tell you about a simply wonderful idea for a new toon she thought of....

Quote:I use ctrl+y and ctrl+n, but I was hoping someone would mention this as a quick way to get rid of the accursed dialog. (These key binds come in handy for most every dialog.)I find that these two binds are very useful for closing popup boxes when you enter newpaper missions and accepting/declining buffs.
/bind y, dialog_yes
/bind n, dialog_no
Not a perfect solution, but they do help.

While the community and devs are great, to be sure, I continue to launch the COH icon because it's the only game I've ever played that I've never gotten bored of. (Unless you count Bejeweled on my iPhone...)

Congrats, Leo. You've certainly been through a lot in your five years.
But you're more than a player; you're a contributor too. The splash page is probably the biggest one most of us have seen/used, but you've always been there with insights, testing, and development expertise. I can't speak for everyone, but you've enriched =my= experience here.

You know what else I hate about Mystic Fortune? Why do robots and scientists and mutants and aliens cast it on me? It's only for wizards!

Quote:No. In-game I love to team and exemplar.
Does your play-style match up with who you are in RL?

I wouldn't have a red name, because they'd never be stupid enough to hire me in the first place.

I hate Mystic Fortune. It's just the rich folk rubbing their ten bucks in my face each time they cast it. Grrrr.

A dark servant that follows you. Originally, dark servant was rooted/stationary.

They weren't really ninjas if the robbers saw them coming and one got away!

Quote:If this were the case, I'd spend a LOT of time in Dark Astoria with my fire blaster.Me, I dare say weather is one of the last things I'd like to see added. Mind you, I don't dislike the concept, but if I had one desire for the game, it would be dynamic lights cast by our powers, complete with more darkness for the dynamic lights to illuminate. Even as far back as Diable, shooting a fireball down a dark hallway sent not just a ball of fire flying, but also an intense orange light that illuminated the hallways as it went. Awesome stuff! You don't even need these lights to cast shadows. Just the lights themselves would be cool.
Seriously, think of how cool the various powersets would be if all the flashy lights we covered our bodies with and threw around cast their own light.

Quote:Ok, I'm in! Last 50 to clear Atlas Park is an incarnatebutt!Kill ten-thousand gray enemies from various groups and get a badge that says "Incarnate".
That's the punchline.
"See? Now don't you feel more powerful? You're one-shotting your foes and they can't even touch you!"

Ah, not a comic geek, so I didn't get many of the references. Thanks.
Also, I knew it wouldn't be inclusive for every hero and villain concept, but I could see where quite a lot would be covered. All of my heroes are, for instance. But then, I don't tend toward very inventive concepts.

Welcome, RazzleTazzle! Hope to see you in the City.
As far as advice, after you've played one character to 10 or so, have fun trying out a totaly different character (archetype, powersets, etc.). You might be surprised that you like something new better. That's what happened to me.
No recommendations, just try and see what you like. And have fun!
