Pretty much anyone that's used the "learn to play" defence has never used the "crank difficulty to 11" to satisfy their desire for "my fun". =I= should learn to play so =they= don't have to up the difficulty.

Lack of imagination isn't a requirement to play, obviously.

  2. My biggest change is more soloing. I used to play my 50s with new players. But Freedom's influx of new players have been channeled through the lowbie arcs or endlessly running Death From Below.

And I've run some TFs and iTrials.

No, but balancing content for the lowest common denominator on the lowest possible difficulty setting should be. After reading this thread, I guess I'll give Night Ward a pass.

You and me both. I have one incarnate, and I stopped at T3 when I got all the level shifts. I've not yet run MoM or DD. I have no sets, just generic IOs.

Guess I'd just rather level up new alts.

Create them before Issue 21, and park them in Outbreak.

    What? That's what I did.

Yes, I've noticed the 8th anniversary badge does not alert you Badge Earned.

I did log in on my blaster that has all the badges, and is level 11. Yay "alternate" server!

I was surprised, but probably because I don't like them and secretly hoped they'd fail. My surprise is Paragon's win, though.

Cheers to those of you that are providing a nice chunk of revenue for PS to reinvest into our game. Thank you.
Love the name, and I agree wholeheartedly.

This is my biggest problem with them. And as much as I want the Elemental Order set, I guess I'll just wait for it to show up somewhere else. (But it was so funny at last year's Summit when they announced the Super Packs to a roomful of crickets chirping.)

All in all, it was a fun summit. I wish I'd have had more presence of mind to meet some of the other forumites there (it was weird hearing a forum name, visualizing the avatar, and then seeing the person at the mic), but I've got to say that my favorite devs have to be Tunnel Rat and Honeybadger, if for no other reason than they remembered me and my girlfriend from the last Summit. Also, art stuff is super cool, and they do art stuff.

  10. 80% or so of my characters are defenders. Samuel Tow gives me endless grief about it, but I like playing a support character. Even if I end up mostly soloing.

This. I've received this message when mistakenly clicking the wrong server and trying to go back, which led me to believe the "Retrieving Character List" =WAS= the queue. Which would explain why it's sometimes faster than others.

    Mutant issue....

I imagine it was quite the shock in the 1940s, however, with people wondering if these different children born all over the world were infected with some kind of disease. Could it spread? Could my normal looking child turn green tomorrow, or suddenly start shooting fireballs? How do I protect my child? It's a very human reaction.

    <snip>
This was a great post, but these two things really hit home on the humanity of the subject (IMO).

As someone with nowhere near the creativity of Samuel Tow, all my characters are humans, and probably 90% of them are mutants. I even remember a redname post from years ago with statistics from the playerbase, and the largest percentage of characters were of mutant origin. (Although I'll be the first to admit that, although I adhere pretty strictly to the in-game descriptions as written, someone's actual origin is ripe for personal interpretation. Just look at the "aliens altered my character's DNA" post above where someone else said "that's science".)

All that being said, it'd be fun to see a mutant-based issue. I'm liking the Nuclear 90 reference myself.

  19. [QUOTE=dugfromthearth;4215197]for me it is the Victorian Decor aura. I mean the idea is just stupid - a Victorian Decor aura, what would that even mean?[QUOTE]

Seriously. A Victorian aura that looks like... what is that?

You know what it is? Probably the best aura for my magic-based characters.

  20. I love this thread.

As a costume guy, Goat, head to Ouroboros and talk to the new merit vendors there (separate ones for Astral and Empyrean merits) to see what costume bits they have. The exclusive path auras were enough for me to farm A and E merits.

  22. Regarding speeding up Hover: Log out in a train station and pick up the Commuter day job. Bonus movement speed.

I have Hover three-slotted on my Hover-heavy characters. It seems pretty fast for me (since I'm not a numbers guy). And commuter gives everything a bonus.

  25. While I know asymmetrical arms and legs would be cool, I'd just be happy with asymmetrical =patterns= for our costumes.
