Basically all Clockwork dialogue in Praetoria is great.
Here's a Clockwork line from IVy's arc in Neutropolis:
CHEN SENDS ME TO AID YOU. HE NOTES THAT IF YOU DIE, HE WILL NOT CRY AT YOUR FUNERAL. NOTHING PERSONAL. -
Quote:Could you maybe PM me that info? I would love to know more about what's to come. There was actually a leak on test that gave all the information about the first 5 levels of incarnate, what each level does, and the effects of each branch of each level. The only one that's still accessible now is Ion Judgement. The other stuff, though, I have to say is pretty cool.

Also of note is that only Diviner Maros has a sub-objective for the second mission, Lorenz and Vince don't.
The important part to remember about the Connected badge is that it requires talking to your sub-contact without Vincent's mission briefing explicitly telling you to. You'll notice that most mission briefings Vincent gives end with blue text saying "those working with other contacts should talk to them", except one towards the end.
This is a dirty trick. You still need to talk to the contact to the badge. In fact, it's the most important time to talk to your sub-contact.
Oh, also I think you cannot actually choose Diviner Maros as sub-contact unless you already finished his story-arc. Shame, really, because I liked Diviner Maros little arc-inside-the-arc the most. -
Unfortunately I don't have the lines memorised, and ParagonWiki doesn't have them listed either, but my favorite line comes from the Freakshow in the Silver Mantis Strike Force.
So one Freakshow mob is bored because nothing ever happens and start a philosophical discussion on the nature of violence. It ends with the following lines, roughly paraphrased:
Freak 1: The carnage is already here, inside all of us.
Freak 2: That's so profound, man.
Then there's also every line by the Superfreak. Oh, and that part of Doc Buzzsaw's briefing is also great:
Doc Buzzsaw: She who lives by the cybernetic monstrosity powered by living coral, all too often dies by the cybernetic monstrosity powered by living coral.
Words to live by. -
Most of my 50s are gonna get the Cardiac Boost because I am a big dumb who never slots for endurance reduction. On the ones that I already slotted with that they went from kinda anemic to never running out of endurance, so that's my go-to choice for now.

Quote:You did, because you were on a flashback.I just feel like I'm missing part of the story. The initial dialoge just starts off talking about some guy named Stanfeld like I should already know who he is, and about all this medi-port stuff like it's been going on for a while, and my toon just hasn't been watching the news lately.
The two new contacts, as well as the clone arc contacts, have unique first-contact dialogue that's separate and different from the normal mission briefings and debriefings. Normally if you click on them you get that introduction dialogue, but a flashback skips right to the mission briefing so you don't get that introduction dialogue.
Luckily, though, that dialogue isn't completely lost on you. Any toon who's at least level 20 who's not currently on a flashback or TF will get his introduction dialogue when clicking on him, even if they're over level 30. -

I'm kinda on the opposite end where I don't really care about the rewards at all, so the ability to visit both sides on any given toon is the go-to choice for me.
So yeah, to each their own. -
Quote:On the other hand, how do you represent any two Rares combining into the Very Rare tier? If for example you connect the two rare Core Boosts to the very rare Core Boost, people would wrongly assume that only the rare Core Boost leads to the very rare Core Boost. The list in-game makes it look like you need the entire third tier to get anything in the 4th tier.
All four are connected to the very rare tier because any of the four can be used to make a very rare boost. -

I was so proud of myself when I finally figured out how to keep my henchies alive, which turned out to be surprisingly easy by just telling them to be where the team is not. Good thing Battle Maiden hates Incarnates more than robots!
-
check out this site and hover over one of the Very Rare Boosts.
The reason every Rare boost is connected to the Very Rare tier is because any two of them will combine into a Very Rare Boost. -
Quote:So recently I did a mission where I killed a man I held hostage for money because his daughter had the nerve to try to save him.I saved like 1000 worlds the other day. Why do I still get naughty presents!
The first present I opened afterwards? "You've been nice!" -
I like the Tank one if only because it so doesn't apply to this game.
The best part is when Scrappers do a better job at managing aggro and not dying and the Tank complains about feeling useless. Or hell, I've been on an ITF where the Tanker got pissy because the Blaster was doing a better job.
Really though, it's the subtext that the Tank has all the say that amuses me. But hey, that's why I like this game over other MMOs. When everyone does their thing stuff tends to go fine, as opposed to teams being built around a single central pillar of a player whose presence and skill is the difference between victory and defeat. -
Actually, I am pretty sure in the STF they're just bosses. I could have sworn that last STF I was on, where we actually fought through the missions for a change, they were just bosses.
Naturally in the Kahn TF they decide to be EBs instead. Guess they finally decided to invest into IOs. -
Let's keep in mind there's a difference between someone asking for an SB once because it had been a couple of minutes until the last speed boost, and people contiously demanding SB the very second it drops. The latter can get old quick, especially when you're a Controller or Corruptor and you got an entire Primary people expect you to neglect in favour of one power.
Player who completely neglects to ever put a particular buff on the team is simply a bad player, yeah, but there's a difference between neglecting to use a power and there being a couple seconds of down-time between reapplying a buff. -
Yeah, I just noticed that. I didn't get to play yesterday and checked the forum before logging in today.

Oh yeah, being the AV at the end of the Task Force is the greatest thing. I just wish they would cut down the Legacy army by half.
One thing that mission showed me is that invincibility can actually be pretty boring and tedious, though. The first two waves of Legacy Chain are pretty exciting, but eventually I just sigh and wish they would give up. Overdrive's Task Force lives my spirit for a bit, but by then it's already over. -
I did read the entire post, I just hate quoting entire posts. It just gets unsightly, especially when someone makes longish pastes like I did.
Anyway, I think I did misunderstand you a bit. When you said early game content, did you mean Issue0/1/2 content, or low-level content?
Anyway, it's true that Striga, the Hollows and Croatoa do end their storylines in TFs and that is a pain for soloers. I'd be all for a change to that. It's just that so far I consider those three exceptions to the rule.
Arachnos and their AVs are also a bit of a special case in that they were introduced in Issue 6. In some ways the STF was meant as a way to have all the big players of Arachnos blue-side in one single TF and pretend they were always around. Having the four lieutenants of Recluse in regular, soloable content would be great, though, that's true. Ghost Widow already started with that by showing up in Daedalus' storyarcs.
I'd also love to say something about lore being locked behind TFs, but the truth is I don't actually really remember the lore behind any original TFs. So, yeah.
Quote:If they improved the TF system so people could be invited during it, such complaints might be resolved.
I imagine it would be a lot of coding effort so, so who knows if or when we would get something like that? I probably should make a thread in the suggestion forum later, anyway. -
Quote:Which is a good thing. It's extremely easy to go 20-30 and never touch one of the game's original story arcs.
*not a fan of I0 story-arcs*
Anyway, I do agree that at this point I think this level range is almost getting bloated and some love for other level ranges would be nice.
I'd suggest that some 10-20 as well as some 30-40 arcs, but I don't see the former happening. It seems the devs picked the 20-30 range because at 20 Praetorians will cross over to the other side and the devs wanna give the gold-siders some more fresh new content before seeing the significantly older content.
Content today will be made with Praetorians in mind. This is not necessarily a bad thing in most regards, but I do fear it means that the first twenty levels in the original two sides will not get any new content for a long time. Then again, more low-level content is probably more important red-side and as we know the Devs Hate Villains(tm) -
Wait, huh? There's patch notes? I thought it was just regular Thursday maintenance?

The buff doesn't affect your henchies? I did this first time on my MM and my bots did fine.
