Recluse's Web is pointless

Seriously, if he needs to be NEAR the towers for his power, how does he plan on using it to "take over the world" or "take Statesman's lunch money" if he can't leave his own porch?

I think the implication is that Recluse is currently in the process of absorbing the powers being drained from the world's heroes when Task Force Boresight confronts him, so he can't move too far away without interrupting the process.

If he does, then it looks like everyone loses. No super powered peoples running about, and no Recluse's Duper Super Ultra Mega Hyper Awesome Intense Giant Evil Monster Outrageous Cool Gigantic buff.

Err, you seem to have misread what DarkGob wrote. The WEB isn't sucking away the powers and making them go into thin air, they're slowly being absorbed by Recluse, as in, the buffs would become permanent without the Towers.

Plus, all those web pieces that got broken in the first mission of the TF forced him to start it up early. That means his hand got forced and a fully completed web may not have the restrictions that an incomplete web would have.

So that's what he's doing. The only times I've ever managed to get on one of those, it's been on a PuG, and I've yet to find one for a TF that isn't intent on doing it as fast as possible. God forbid anyone would want to read anything these days, it seems.

I haven't even seen half the rooms in whichever TF it is that ends up in a giant laundry room with Nemesis and Lord Recluse and Lady Crey etc having a bubble party with some big vampire guy.

Eco.

The thing I find saddest about STF speed runs is that I've never gotten to see the villains doing a treespec during the tree mission, always just get teleported to the end.

it's too bad too. as a fight it takes less than 3 mins most times with a reasonable team vs the 'respec 'team, and as elite bosses the drop schedule is far far higher for everyone concerned whether it be shards or recipes.

why skip an obvious gain?

if i'm not leading the team, then i'll go out of my way to remind the leader/tp'r about that room, and that it is just down the hall from the tree.

Actually, I am pretty sure in the STF they're just bosses. I could have sworn that last STF I was on, where we actually fought through the missions for a change, they were just bosses.

Naturally in the Kahn TF they decide to be EBs instead. Guess they finally decided to invest into IOs.
