To be honest I feel that my human-form Peacebringer is every bit as powerful against the right type of enemies heroside.
In the rare times that I have had to solo heroside with my Peacebringer, she can handle Invincible with no problems whatsoever. I have never understood why people feel Kheldians are so weak when that is the furthest from the truth.
Until Going Rogue is released and I can actually play turn my Night Widow and Fortunata I can't really say which is more powerful since the enemies they face are completely different, but in groups that are the same each side such as Council, Freakshow, and Carnies they both breeze through those missions.
I also have to mention that my human-form Peacebringer is IO'd completely as are my Night Widow and Fortunata so that defintely contributes to their performance. -
Quote:They are different. The powers are not the only thing that defines the archetype. The ATs in general are a complete change from anything you can do on the villain side of the game and the hero side for that matter.Okay yeah I know a lot of people like these new SoA's but I find them a little boring.
I expected something a little more... interesting, you know with like different powers and stuff.
Quote:On the blue side theres two freakin completely new types of powers to play with and a whole mess of stuff to choose from, but then you come to the red side, work all night and day to get to 50, make a Crab, Bane or Huntsman or whatever and you start to see you're handling the same weapons and pretty much the same powers you did with other toons.
Quote:I understand that the archetypes follow a story and the damage and stuffs alright, but still the backpack shouldn't use the same weapons that a Wolf Spider would use and it shouldn't use bullets... at all. It should be strictly limited to energy attacks and the grenades should be changed slightly. And the omega maneuvers power... well thats just... a toy thats fun for the first... 3 seconds and then its boring and does poor dmg for the recharge it has.
Quote:I'm not bashing the epics or anything. I get the whole feel for them since I do play one, but still the main powers and heck even the secondary powers could use a bit of rethinking. That goes for both widows and spiders.
Quote:Everything is just... too much like everything else in the game... it makes the content stale... very stale. More well thought out powers, better animations and some new features for the SoA's would just make things fresher. -
Quote:Both are fabulous in their own right. I used to only care about my Night Widow, but now I care about my Fortunata just as much. You can't really go wrong with either one to be honest.I know the first is scrapper like, and the second is a ranged control freak, but from the people who have one at 50...which do you find more enjoyable.
Also, anyone have one of these as their favorite villain?
I ask, because I haven't rolled one yet and played it beyond lvl 5 or so. Didn't have time w/ other projects. Now I'm thinking of going with one, but not sure if I wanna start lvl'ing one up to 50. Fear of disappointment I suppose.
TL'DR: Do they solo well? Are they powerful?
Tourettes
I only have four villain characters and my Night Widow and Fortunata are my favorite characters villain side and among my favorite on either side. -

I'm really no Widow expert, but I'd probably go with something more like this:

Not getting snooty, but if this is the case then wouldn't if have been more beneficial for you to not offer feedback? -
I didn't even notice that this question had been asked.
Anyways, I think Psychic Scream is definitely worth the selection. I have my slotted with 5 Positron's Blast on my Night Widow and my Fortunata. The -rech that it causes in combination with its fast recharge for an area of effect cone makes it an attractive power.
Many people complain about psi damage being resisted more commonly and that effects the damage, but I don't ever notice that when I use the power. Having almost +50% damage on my two ladies, Psychic Scream does some excellent damage except against robots where pretty much all psi powers are useless. -
He never comes right out and says specifically that they will be able to, but if you read the interview you can interpret anyone will be able to take any AT to Paragon City and vice versa, or something to that effect. I would have to find the interview again.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I'm just afraid that the devs will come out and say SoA and Khelds can't switch sides.

Positron's interview said that all ATs will be able to change allegiance. -

I'd add that there are some mobs out there that can still hit you hard and often even if you have soft-capped defenses, due to high +To Hit and/or +Accuracy (Malta Gunslingers and Rularuu Watchers come to mind) and some non-positional attacks (usually found in psi attacks).
[/ QUOTE ]
I find Malta Gunslingers to be rather easy to be honest. I haven't faced any Rularuu on my Night Widow so I can't speak on them.
[/ QUOTE ]
And perma-ML Widows have around 70% or more resist to psi.
[/ QUOTE ]
80% when stacked, but 50% otherwise. -

So because I have a few lvl 50 toons and a question about scaling resists I must have PLed them? Rather than post a useless assumption why don't you be productive and attempt to A) help the poster out or B) simply just not post at all
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay if that was the initla basis of your topic then why not say "What are the scaling resistance %'s for Night Widows?" You on the other hand named the "Survival: Bane v Night Widow" which says NOTHING about comparing scaling resistances.
[ QUOTE ]
Hey folks, had a few questions about the two veat melees. I have one each at lvl 50 and was curious which is more durable.
[/ QUOTE ]
The reason I made my power leveling statement is because of the above sentence. How can you play through a normal AT from 1 to 50 and then two defensive based characters 1 to 50 each and not know anything about which is more durable?
If over the course of 100 levels you couldn't tell which one is more durable then you are either spacing while you play, or you are completely oblivious to what you are doing.
Figuring out your initial question could have been done quite easily using the game itself. If you are wanting to know the values you get for scaling just fly to the top of a zone and then drop straight down while your combat number window is open.
Example, going from full to about 10% health you should have just over 30% resistance from scaling. If you want ot see the rate of scaling just watch your combat number as you regen health and ta da you have answered your own question. -
Curious. As the other poster mentioned and you yourself confirm, you have a level 50 of each and you need to ask this question?
Hmm, sounds like someone has been in Architect because had you actually leveled them up you could easily answer thsi question. -

For PvE, people prefer AoE's, A LOT more. (than strong ST's)
That's a reason.
Plus,

The fact that ET and TF doesn't do double damage out of Hide or with crits doesn't bother me
[/ QUOTE ]
It bothers someone. It even weakens ST damage output.
That's why I would prefer something else other than EM if I'm building a PvE team.
[/ QUOTE ]
To each their own I guess. I don't really worry to much about the small things. As long as the enemies end up on the ground and my exp increases thats all that matters to me.
I have done the Elec Melee Stalker and I just don't like Elec Melee enough despite its blend of area of effect and single target. I like Havoc Punch, Charged Brawl and Thunderstrike, but thats mainly because of Elec Manipulation on heroes which I am inlove with. For Stalkers I still prefer Energy Melee or Dark Melee over anything else. -

No worries, I figured something had to be up because most people don't start a thread on something and then ask the same question again. -

Regen is very good actually. A lot of people will tell you to do Willpower but Willpower can't reach the same level of regen that Regen can, however due to its typed defense and more resistance it is better in that regard. Also powers like HPT increase its performance since you have an auto power that allows for more HP which increases regen rate.
You can't go wrong with either, but if you plan on using IO sets, Willpower is definitely the better choice. -
I'm don't understand. Why are you saying that EM is bad in PvE?
I love my EM/Nin and I find myself utterly destroying things that I fight. The fact that ET and TF doesn't do double damage out of Hide or with crits doesn't bother me, but then again I am used to Tanker EM which doesn't crit so no complaints here. -
I would not listen to those Stalkers you talked to because Ninjitsu is excellent. It's not SR true, its better than SR. Like any defense build you are going ot be hurting unless you raise your overall derfense and Ninjitsu is no different. However, you get a heal Kuji In Sha which is basically Reconstruction. Depending on what you pair Ninjitsu with you can be terrible or insanely powerful.
My Stalker just turned level 40 and she is sitting on capped melee and ranged defense. I had her IO'd out at level 37 and she is just dishing out pain and heartbreak wherever she goes. I only do PVE so I am not sure how it would do PVP and don't care, but once I get to 50 I will head to RV and see what kind of issues I can cause heroes -
[ QUOTE ]
Would this then mean that elude would add no defense bonus?
I think elude has been bringing me above this level.
[/ QUOTE ]
Once you hit the 45% cap it doesn't matter how much defense you have over that amount the chance to hit still remains the same. Running Elude if you are already capped just means that you have a larger cushion in the event you fight enemies that debuff your defense and drop you under 45%
If you are soft capped without Elude you are basically running around as though you have perma Elude minus the +spd and +recov.

i use elude for the endurance regen and it helps to be above 45% defense against purple mobs.

It doesn't really matter if they are purple or not because defense works the same for anything with in 5 levels. -

My Night Widow isn't just built for +defense though. She has capped defense, +65% global recharge (not includng Hasten), +43% accuracy, and +57.5% damage. I only said that I didn't build for perma Mind Link because I find it pointless on a Night Widow, but that did not stop me from making sure her other powers are also maximized as much as possible.
-
I'm interested in trying out the whole RP thing, but I don't know if I could get the hang of typing "(())" around everything I type although I understand thats how people differentiate between real world and role play chat.
Now I need to decide how many characters I will move and who I will move. -
[ QUOTE ]
No, since ish 7. It's really annoying too. stone tankers running rooted AND granite armor get held by her regularly.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know whats really funny is all this time when I would see her hold Brutes or Tanks, etc I just figured it was because their mez toggle was off or their build sucked, but having a 100 point hold is just crazy, but it makes sense since the power is called Soul Storm and is grasping your soul. -
Really? That's crazy. I never knew that. Has it always been mag 100 since CoVs inception?
-
I can see the use of your methods, however I too deal good amount of aoe damage from all the buffs I have from my team and my set bonuses etc so Follow Up is better for me than Build Up. I also open with Spin for the aoe crit and after that I step back to hit them with Psychic Scream, then I just clean up the little bit left over.
-
Yeah it totally sucked but what can you do.
The only Archvillian that has given me trouble is Positron because of his stupid rad powers. Every other AV or Hero I have faced thats been over me hasn't been much trouble.
I loved fighting Ghost Widow because she would miss everything except when Soul Storm would break through my mez protection regardless. I really would like to know the mag of her hold because it has to be in the 20s or more becaus she even held my Sheild/Energy Tank with my mez protection overlapped.
