This'll give you a constant +30% damage boost (as well as to your team), essentially perma-Mind Link (.2s where you won't have it!!!!), and soft-capped Defense as a result. Alone, you're giving your team a 23.6% Defense boost to everything, which is pretty big. It's probably not optimally slotted because I am horrible at that, but that should do you pretty well regardless.

You mean there's an actual official Widow expert here?

If a Widow expert wants to pop in and post a different build then that's fine. I just noticed that he ended up missing a lot of key powers like Foresight and took some poor powers like Tough and CT:O. I'd say my build's fairly generic and doesn't really miss anything important.

Just curious: why people aren't slotting Mind Link with Membranes?

I appreciate you posting an alternative build Vermain, I wasn't really looking for free builds, just critiques on what I did. I do see some things you've done that I didn't consider. I'm new at the Veat builds and they seem to be very flexible, and can be built in a great # of ways. Mind Link isn't something that would have thought should be perma'd but I'll definately take a look at it. I mostly play scrappers and that is were my tactics in this build mostly came from, but I can say that being new to VEATs I can definately use some advice. In reply to NordBlast, I don't Hami Raid much, and I refuse to spend my hard earned influence on Purps/Hami-o's and IO's that are bank breaking, I wish I could but the market has become way to manipulated by Spam-Mail farmers. Some of the IO's i did place in my build are a bit expensive, but I can afford those through reward ticket's, AE ticket drop's. Novella I have seen some of your posts on Widow's I think you could have some insightful advice, and would welcome it.

VEATs are a bit deceptive when you first start them because they look an awful lot like Scrappers or Blasters, but their main advantage is that they can do nutty damage while, at the same time, acting as extremely effective force multipliers to their team. Being able to get most people on your team halfway to softcapped permanently, as well as providing +30% constant damage, while also pumping out great DPS, is part of the benefit of playing a Widow.

Personally I'd pick up Foresight and/or TT:Maneuvers instead of CT:Offensive and/or Tough. Once you're at the point of slotting all those sets I think CT:Offensive will be overkill, while you could use that little extra base defense for when Mask Presence suppresses and Vengeance isn't in effect (plus TT:M buffs up teams some more).

I'm also not sure why you have 2 recharges in TT:Assault - it shouldn't be dropping much/ever and when it does it recharges fast enough. Maybes move them to enhance TT:Leadership further?

If the Miracle unique still operates on a 120sec-when-power-is-activated basis, put it in Health instead of Vengeance so that it's perma.

May as well swap that GotA Def/End for a Def/Rec - endurance cost of Mind Link isn't really an issue, but you'll get some mileage from enhancing its recharge.

I'd maybes also move up Lunge and Slash a bit if you exemplar a lot, so's you have a filled out attack chain, but if you're already at the 24-auto-respec stage and don't plan to exemplar I don't suppose it matters.

Those are the things that jumped out at me anyway.

Well one of the things about veats is there are a lot of different ways you can put one together: just take a look at other player's builds and you won't ever see two that are perfectly identical. Yet they can all still be effective in their everyday tasks. This is especially true for widows IMO because they are a bit more linear in design (basically a ton of defense coupled with either a control set or an attack set).

Looks like Biowraith beat me to the punch, both foresight and TT:maneuvers are prob better picks in your build. Foresight is a killer auto power, it adds 20% resistance vs psi damage, a base 7.5 defense vs all and introduces scaling resists to the mix. TT:maneuvers is nice as well, it both is higher in defensive value than the pool power (5 vs 3.5) while costing about half as much end to run.

Experiment around on mids a bit and you'll see all kinds of ways to build night widows. I even at one time monkeyed around with one that did away with mind link and still had capped melee and ranged defenses (AoE was in the mid 30s). Yeah yeah I know that is considered a widow taboo but I wanted to see if it were possible to remain effective without the constant "must make sure mind link is always on" mentality (seems it would always drop in mid widowlock). GL with your widow =D

Since you mostly play scrappers, the best way to look at your widow is as a variant of a Claws/SR build. However, even then there are many options that can help branch you out from there. One of the things that I forgot on my Widow build is to consider defense debuff resists. I think that's in Foresight so don't neglect that on your defense-heavy villain.

Offhand, I would say work on building up defense and then +recharge. +Recharge will help a Widow build both offensively (attacks recharge faster) and defensively (as for going toward the perma-Mind Link strategy), provided you can still manage endurance well enough.
