I like it. It has a real, classic comic book feel to it. Nicely evokes what I like about the Marvel heroes I grew up with. I am so there.

When I first deployed Trip Mines, it was in an office building with civilians running around in terror. I was afraid they would run into the mines and set them off prematurely, thereby ruining my carefully laid trap. Imagine my relief/surprise when one of them did and... NOTHING happened.
-
I'd also like to see Bunsen Honeydew as Professor X and Fozzie Bear as Beast.

Hmmm... this whole "internet" thing might be more than just a fad. Who knew?

I wholeheartedly agree. The costs far outweigh the benefits in my opinion.

In addition to what's been said, I suggest you look at some of the Power Pools to improve your solo survivability. Three come to mind:
(1) Stealth allows you to engage in battle under conditions of your own choosing. You can assess the situation (enemy strength and location), decide on a course of action, position yourself and get off the first shot. All of my characters take Stealth at level 6.
(2) Hover allows you to attack from outside your opponents' melee range. (assuming the mission site allows you to get airborne) Even though many enemies also have ranged attacks, removing the danger of melee combat will dramatically reduce the amount of damage you receive.
(3) Hasten reduces your recharge speed, thus allowing you to attack more frequently. The more damage you put out, the faster you kill your opponents and the less danger they pose to you. Just be aware that Hasten is not a toggle power and you will have to let it recharge rather than just letting it run (like stealth and hover).
You can expect to survive more as you gain experience with game mechanics and the use of your particular powers.
Good luck. -
OK. Good to know the problem is not with my computer. Still very annoying though. Warehouses have replaced the blue caves as my least favorite mission site. Thanks for your responses.

Has anybody else had a problem with warehouses? After two years of playing, I've recently encountered a new, well-lit room in warehouses where the graphics seem to lag. (i.e. movement slows down, becoming choppy or jerky) This room is much brighter than the other warehouse interiors and has two elevated sections on opposite sides that are reached via ramps.
I've tried fiddling with the graphics options, but haven't been able to fix the problem. It's reached the point where I groan every time I get to a mission site and it's a warehouse.
Has anybody else experienced this? If so, were you able to fix the problem?
Thanks. -
That's exactly what he wants you to think. My contacts inform me that Nemesis does indeed have "bits" and that they are, in fact, steam-powered. They also tell me this was the inspiration for the Elvis Presley hit, "Burning Love." Then again, my contacts have been known to imbibe on occasion.

Quote:I'll give it a try. If it works, it'll be a lot cheaper than buying a gaming keyboard. Thanks for the suggestion. If you haven't changed the normal keybinds, Q and E are also for turning left/right, respectively. I mostly use WASD/QEX+Space for my fliers, first four being directional while the others are turning left/right and moving down/up. That combination have worked for me on all systems I've tried it on so far.
EDIT: It worked! Thanks, Evilmeister. -
I appreciate the replies. I considered just using my old keyboard, but its connection is round and the new computer has a rectangular port.
I'm also not familiar with ZBoards but I'l certainlyl look into them.
Thanks all. -
Hello all,
I'm having a problem that I've never experienced in my 2 years of playing. Since getting a new computer and installing CoX on it, I've noticed that directional control for my flying and super-jumping characters has become limited.
Specifically, they can't turn left while ascending. If I'm hitting the space bar and press the right directional arrow, they'll turn right while gaining altitude. If I hit the space bar and press the left directional arrow, however, they continue going in their original direction of travel. I never had this problem on my old computer.
Has anybody encountered this before and, even better, know how to fix it?
Thanks. -
Thunderball, a member of the Wrecking Crew, has been around for a while. According to Wikipedia, he first appeared in 1974. Fought various members of Marvel's hero community.

I had forgotten about the mini-sodes.
With regard to Iron Man's strength, I was recalling a backup feature I read in an old Spider-Man comic that classified all of Marvel's heroes by their strength level. Iron Man was actually in the "Super Heavyweight" class with Hulk and Thor. Of course, his dialog balloon made it clear that he couldn't sustain it. He said something to the effect of "When fully charged, my armor is in this class... for about five seconds." -
As I said earlier, I enjoy the show. But that wont stop me from finding one small nit to pick, which is more of an observation than a criticism.
Does it seem that theyre downplaying Iron Mans strength? In the comics, his strength level was just below Thor and the Hulk. (assuming his armor was charged to its maximum capacity) In the show, however, theyre portraying him more as a blaster. He fights enemies with his repulsor rays and uni-beam, but doesnt seem to engage in melee combat. I get the sense that this is intended to reinforce the role of the Hulk and Thor as the teams two powerhouses.
This seems similar to how the Timmverse portrayed the Martian Manhunter. Both Justice League and JLU showcased the Martians other powers and downplayed his strength, which allowed Superman and Wonder Woman to act as the teams heavy hitters.
If this is a conscious choice, then Im OK with it. I still make it a point to watch the show every week. Im just glad to see an animated superhero series being done by people who respect the source material and love the characters as much as the fans do. -
Quote:From my perspective, the issue isn't about whether feminists can or should wear makeup. Any person can adorn themself as he or she sees fit. It just seems that makeup is incompatible with this particular fictional character. In the decades of Wonder Woman stories that have published, she's never been overly concerned about her appearance. It's inconsistent for this character. Real people, however, can make their own choices. This ridiculous idea that feminists and makeup don't go together is so totally out of date, and sexist too - the whole point of being liberated is to be able to do what you want to do, and not follow the "rules" on the way you're supposed to look and behave.
A feminist can't be defined by her makeup choices anymore than she can be defined by her clothes choices or her hairstyle. -
Quote:You're right, of course. And I recognize that much of the value of these properties is in licensing them for various products. It's just regrettable that the owners of the Wonder Woman brand don't seem to respect the source material. But that's the way of the world.A Punisher Tea Set I suspect would sell well, because it's so bizarre it's brilliant.
But back to the topic in hand -- girls like to wear make-up. It's that simple. And if girls like to wear make-up, there's no reason they shouldn't wear make-up that came from a container merchandised with a great character like Wonder Woman. Because sadly, right now there is no Wonder Woman TV show, no Wonder Woman movie, and no Wonder Woman cartoon. Wonder Woman probably has very little Q-rating with pre-teen girls. I'd like more girls to be interested in Wonder Woman. This make-up line will likely do little to aliviate that problem, but it's better than nothing. -
Quote:I assume it's the fundamental disconnect between what Wonder Woman is supposed to represent versus what she's actually representing in this ad campaign. WW was always more concerned about fighting for her ideals than making herself attractive to men. Her whole message is about female empowerment.I don't get the hate. Does lip gloss somehow devalue women? Superman is used to sell boys underwear.
Linking her to a cosmetics line, with its implicit goal of becoming more attractive to men, just seems wrong. I think that sporting/exercise equipment would be more in line with the whole Wonder Woman concept. This seems as misguided to me as a Punisher Tea Set.
