Quote:Unless it gets the same fate as fixing pet recharge...Most of the folks I know who play Illusion on a regular basis have been commenting on the change in Phantasm's AI causing him to run into melee and die frequently. This is a problem not only because you lose a chunk of damage from your pet, but also some folks relied upon Phanty's Decoy to hold aggro when re-casting Phantom Army.
Well, I rarely do this, but I went ahead and PM'ed Castle. He gave a quick but nice response that this was a problem with all pets and other critters, and that it is on the list for them to work on.
That's all I really expected or wanted . . . to know that it will likely be fixed sometime in the hopefully not too distant future. I appreciate that our Developers will answer such questions. Thanks, Castle! -
Quote:Ugh... Man, you need to introduce some variety into your runs.I was solo. I was running the same arc over and over and over again. Zone in, kill boss and spawn. Zone out. Zone in. Kill boss. Zone out. Zone in. Run lap killing all necessary. Zone out. Zone in. Fly to last section. Kill boss and spawn.
Repeat.
That is in NO way the same thing as: Zone in, clear map for the love of the killin, zone out.
And THAT is in no way the same for me as Bounce from map to map, enemy type to enemy type, run TF here and there, run some papers at +4/x8, run some AE maps at +0/x8 for tickets, hop from new lowbie to new lowbie, etc.
I still want to puke, every time I remember running countless back-to-back "Insurection Of Nictus" during 1st week of merits introduction. Even though, it was worth 203 merits per run on 8 man team back then.

There is similar craftable temp, called something like "Kinetic Dampener". It gives Eneregy Res instead of Cold Res given by Cryonite Armor

Quote:You can't. They don't stack by some reason. If everyone quits the team but 1 other, it should only spawn for a 2-member team. However, I don't know the specifics of your ITF challenge, which may require a 6-member spawn.
Anyway, other temps to consider would be
Flashbang Grenades: aoe -def and -tohit debuff (I don't remember how to get)
Recovery Serum
Wedding Band: 30% resists to all (Stephanie Peebles arc)
Cryonite Armor: some s/l def (I don't remember how to get)
Some vill temp pets to consider, even though they're not terribly powerful:
Loa Bone (very easy to get from Bocor in Oro)
Coralex pet (from the Renault SF, it's 50-50 you'll get this or you'll get an attack)
Vial of Bees (don't laugh, they're useful)
Don't forget all the various base empowerments.
If you're especially ambitious, get a Longbow Mech. If you're doubly ambitious, switch sides after you get your LB Mech and get the Arachnos version. Fair warning: I have no idea if you can actually hold both. -
Quote:Devs just put themselfs into corner when they declared that farming will not be tolerated in AE. They had no another way, but to remove AE badges that required intensive farming. *shrug*I had that one (as well as all the other AE badges that were removed) done within a few weeks after they were introduced without playing more than a few hours a day. I really don't think any set of badges can legitimately be considered "too grindy" if they could be done so quickly.
People who whined about it so much managed to ruin the effort I and many other people put into it. Frankly I think it was pathetic that the Devs caved into people who *gods forbid* got upset that they were going to have to put a little effort into badging.
If you considered "30K defeats in test mode" to be too hard or annoying to do then guess what? You should have just not bothered to do it. All the whining manged to do was to grief the people who actually played the game and lost the rewards for their finished efforts.
Thanks, but no thanks. That's the kind of help from my fellow player I -don't- need... -
Quote:IMO, the removal of "30K defeats in test mode" badge was fair trade for loss of 100+ AE badges. The scenario I'm about to bring up doens't necessarily fit what you are asking.. but it is a disappointment as well....
...Killing all those Custom enemies in AE and other various tasks just to have the badges stripped a couple weeks later. haha -
Heh. I tried to solo Baphomet as an AV on my ill/rad using fiteklub rules (no insp, no temps). I could get him down to 25% of HP, he would heal back to 50%, and by the time I got him down to 25% again, his heals were recharged already... So frustrating!

I had problem with "memory leak" while running CoH on XP. Memory increase for one instance was 12-16 KB/sec for another 8-12 KB/sec. It will run fine until it hits somewhere around 1.45 MB of memory usage, it will crash shortly thereafter. But it will be the same even running single instance though.

Quote:That is already happened to me. I was farming A-Merits to get GA 3%, I wanted for one of my toons. Done with that couple weeks ago. I probably only ran 3-4 tips missions since then.Just to be clear, I'm not just talking about really min/maxed ticket farming. I'm talking about any form of dedicated ticket farming, where you play the same mission with the same foes over and over. (To answer your question, in the better farms those foes usually are tailored in some fashion to be weak to your strengths, but it doesn't have to be anything spectacular. It being spectacular just probably makes you able to take on more foes and thus earn more tickets faster.)
In my experience, there are only so many people willing to run farms for hours at a time on a regular basis. I'd say probably 1/3 to 1/2 the people I know well in game have farmed the AE at some point, but probably only like 1/10 or fewer of them do it with any regularity. The rest get bored and want to do other stuff.
That may happen with AMerits too. Even though you can't quite "farm" them in the same sense, you do still have to repeat the same content a lot. We're getting more in I19, though, so that may help sustain it. -

Quote:What do you think this was about? If there's some generic "bad geometry in Warburg" that's getting fixed then sure, it might get a Patch Note. But if that "bad geometry" was identified as the main vector for an exploit then no, the chances of it getting mentioned is pretty much nil, regardless if the phrase "fixed bad geometry in Warburg" is reasonably vague or not.

Quote:Isn't ToHitDebuff part applied as Defense Buff?Basically, Defense buffs and debuffs both work in the powers if you could slot them. Normally, you can't slot a Defense Debuff power in a Defense power. If you could, you would choose the Schedule A Defence Debuff over the Schedule B Defense buff.
But Hami-Os allow you to slot them into any power that will accept any part of the enhancment . . . so an Enzyme has ToHitDebuff/DefenseDebuff/EndRdx. Since Defense powers will accept EndRdx, you can slot the Enzyme in the power, where the Defense Debuff applies to enhance the Defense buff.
It is an exploit, but nobody expects it to be fixed anytime soon. -

Quote:I have some crazy theory regarding what might be happening there. But central premise of my crazy theory is highly suspectfulI'm out of ideas. I can say I've been using the proc on my Mind/Ice Dominator for a long time without issue, although getting knocked out of inviso by crystals on CoT maps was a surprise the first few times until I figured out what was doing it. The only time I've otherwise been spotted has been against certain AVs and EBs, who seem to aggro-on-cast. Unless it's connected to something weird, like the Mutation buff or the end of HP boosting powers is being recorded as damage and thus unhiding you.
.
My assumption is that StealthIO grants you pseudo-pet, similar to "Negative Stealth" pseudo-pet, but much faster (as fast as debuff pseudo-pet granted by ouro's "You under debuffs" challenge settings).
In some very rare circumstances, ( due to lag, pseudo-pet got delayed on some geometry or whatever ), you are able to outrun that hypothetical "StealthIO pseudo-pet". When it happens, you temporarily losing 30 feet stealth, until that pseudo-pet catches up with you again.

Quote:Are you in a mission with a hostage rescue? My SG mate has a stealthy /Dev blaster and they have told me that in some of the new tip missions they have noticed that their stealth value has been fluctuating when the hostage gets close to them. I have not spent any time to confirm their observation, but I have no reason not to trust them. -
I've been getting similar message while oroing old posi tf .

Quote:Yes, I was watching stealth radius in combat monitor, it would go from 65 feet to 35 feet for no apparent reason. Are you watching your stealth radius numbers in the Combat Attributes pop-out box? The Stealth radius remains suppressed for a good while after taking a hit. Maybe 20 to 30 seconds. If you got hit by the previous group by anything (possibly even death AoEs like Carnie endurance drain tho I haven't tested this explicitly, I just watch the numbers) you are not invisible when approaching the next group. Pets of any kind also reveal your location I believe even though most enemies wont come after you unless the pet moves out of range or is killed/unsummoned.
Here what was happening.
I'm being completely stealthied (65 feet), selecting mob, and moving to it either by using follow or manually. When I'm at 10-40 feet from target, I would activate confuse, while still on follow or pressing forward key. In 5-10% (maybe less) cases stealth will be supressed to 35 feet and I would become visible to the group my target is in.
And, by the way, it wasn't limited to bosses only. The same thing would happen with minions and Lts as well. -

Quote:Sure, I won't be happy about devs imposing spending limits on older rewards. As I'm not happy about imposed limits on spending of A-merits.Would you be happier if they went back and throttled how fast you could spend reward merits and tickets?
Or is your problem not actually the inconsistency but the limitation itself?
But, I'm also unhappy that devs arbitrary, out of blue moon, without declaration of war, decided to start limiting our potential spending rate.

Quote:I'd agree with that if it was only with special mobs/objects like Longbow Eagles, CoT crystals, the cabal, etc.The issue with SS + Stealth IO happens if you are subjected to an attack. Any AoE will do. The IO stealth suppresses but the Super Speed stealth does not. The AoE does not have to be from an enemy; the red or blue (even though they don't do damage) crystals in CoT maps seem to do it.
But StealthIO suppression was happening with variety of enemies.
And while it is difficult to pin down specific conditions, it seems, it was happening when I was trying to confuse mob while I've been still moving.
I'll try to run few tests again and frap it, while doing it. -
Quote:Inconsistent with what? Ever since they replaced the Drop system with the Merit system because of rampant Speed running, They've made it clear they sought different ways to put a throttle on how quickly people could get their rewards.
We're moving from a system where it would take you 2-3(or more days) to get any Rare recipe to a system where you can get any Rare in 1-2 days.
Whether you see it as a further restriction or not really depends on how narrow your blinders are. Folks with a bit of perspective see the A-Merit system as much quicker and more efficient despite the timers, and they're right.
Inconsitency is in restricting the spending of the rewards. All other reward systems have trottle how fast you can earn reward, and as soon as you earned these, you are free to spend them as you like.- Merits - no time restriction on spending. There is time constraint on earning from the same TF/SF/Raid/Trial on the same toon in form of DR, but that is pretty much it. You can hoard these merits and spend them as you like. And by the way, some players won't spend any merits until they hit level 50.
- Tickets - no time restriction on spending. There are 2 constraints on earning though: ticket cap per mission (it was 1500 tickets on large map last time I ran AE arcs) and total ticket cap of 9999 tickets. You can still cash tickets, hoard recipes, flood the market.
- HOs - the same thing. You can earn maximum 3 HOs in 24 hours (Hami raid, STF, RSF) if you rogue or vigilante. You can hoard them, and flood the market if and when you choose.
- A-Merits - Time restriction on spending. Time restriction on earning.
I'm treating all intermediate tokens (merits, tickets, HOs and A-Merits) as a reward. And I want to be able to cash-in these tokens when I want and the way I want. I already earned them.
It is irrelevant whether you can get rare in 1-2 days or in 2-3. You're not getting it for free from the thin air, you are earning them.
Regarding the folks with no blinders and a bit of perspective... I don't think if they were allowed to accumulate 1 million dollars, but permitted to spend only 1 hundred a day, would be very happy about it.
