I can see it now, glowie trash piles all over GC. You get the "Mr. Clean" badge after you've picked up 1000 pieces of garbage.
IIRC there's a TIMED mission where you have to zip through the zone going through glowing trash. Don't remember contact or if it gave a badge (probably not).

    Event Badges
There was one Hero-only Event badge that became possible for Villains to have with Issue 18, but only if that character started out as a Hero and logged into the game during the window of availability and is now side-switched into a Villain.

Celebrant Log in during the month of May, 2005
After reading the original (unedited) version several times, I eventually figured out that this was what it meant to say.

If Celebrant ISN'T awarded for switching alignments from hero to villain [which applies to at least two of my current toons], wouldn't the hero ALREADY have it?
  4. Found this on the 'wiki tonight under "i18 badges":

If this IS real, I have to say two things:
    • It doesn't seem fair to award to re-aligned heroes but not villains who have "reformed" .
    • It's not WAI. I currently have two heroes converted to full villain (to run patron arcs) that don't have badge.

    IDK, it's a little late for an April Fool's prank. . .

    City of Prudes

This reminds me of the time I was working for a renaissance faire and we got a complaint from some parkgoers about the "nekked wimmen" at our event. The "nudists" turned out to be mannikin parts that one of our (fully clothed) employees was painting flesh-colored. They weren't complete mannikins, just legs, torsos, etc.

Apparently these lonely fishermen didn't care that the mannikins had no HANDS or HEADS, but being nekked was just TOO MUCH !
  6. I thought that was the case but wanted to make sure. Thanks for the responses.
  7. not trying to hijack this thread but

Awhile back I inherited a sg. I am the only player who's logged in almost 2 years. I am changing the alignment of the SG leader so he can do the patron power arc. When I got the alignment morality mish, a window came up informing me that if I changed alignment, I would no longer be leader of the group.

This is not a problem if it's just short term. I intend to change back to hero or vigilante after I complete the patron arc. I can do without base entry for that long. I just want to verify that I'm not being dropped from SG roster since there will be no one to re-invite me to sg.

    And that's just stupid, IMO.
I'd forgotten about this but I agree. The original system with hazard zones was you couldn't ENTER until you were a certain level; therefore you couldn't EARN credits you would have to wait to redeem.

Now that the entrance requirement is gone, the badge restriction should be as well. All of my lowbies have earned Intern in PI (except the Praetorians, natch!) because there's no entrance requirement, unlike, say, Dark Astoria (for Mortician badge).

I believe that a character should be online to earn the rewards. While I'm playing Character A, I don't think Characters B, C, D, E, F, G, or H should be getting a benefit. If I want Character B to earn something, I'd switch toons. I don't necessarily care if it might make the badges harder to get on multiple toons at once. That's not the point.
You DO realize that Day Job badges are for non-secret-identity activities (what you do when you're NOT wearing a costume) ? Otherwise, how do you propose earning, say, the Mortician badge -- spend a couple hours digging? Or Smuggler: riding around and around on ferries? Then repeat for every toon?

If you have multiple toons you want to earn DJs on, it might be a little complicated. (I have mine on a table to keep track of who's earned what and when to move little-played toons).

If you think it's tedious, that's your perogative but frankly it's a LOT less time-consuming that earning Invention badges and less boring (to me anyway) than Irradiated / Siren's Song, etc. As others have pointed out, you have to log out at some point. Earning badges for next-to-no-effort? Thanks, devs!
  11. ty all for the information. I didn't mention it but I'd already run into this problem with one of the day jobs: "What do you mean I haven't earned either Intern OR Wage Slave? I was logged there for 21 days!"

I'd forgotten about Isolator and some of the others. Anyway, thanks for the assistance!
  12. Hey all,

When GR came out, I turned my lvl 50 stalker into a rogue so he could get blueside explore and history badges. I found that one badge (Edge of Chaos) required you to be a Hero to access; non-heroes weren't allowed to enter Longbow base. (IDK if this applies to vigilantes as well.)

Although I eventually found a workaround (join a mixed team and have them TP you to badge marker), I was wondering if there are any other "exclusive" badges that require you to be full hero / villain to access? (With the obvious exception of alignment badges, of course!)

Seconded. The original timeframe was too short and occured when a lot of folks were busy with holiday stuff.

The problem is the Big Group badges. There is a rush the first week or so but not everyone has alt-itis. I was having a hard time getting groups for Winter Lord / Lord of Winter the last couple of days. Extending the event isn't going to change that.

*shrugs* Guess I'll work on Toy Collector for my lowbie toons.

You can always lead them to the nearest police drone. (Well, sometimes you can)

    Email rollback

What I don't get is why they need a complete inventory to restore.

This happened to me once before and they asked when the original email was sent and from which server. Didn't ask the amounts sent via the missing emails.
  16. Thank you for the response. I must have missed it when I visited the Candyman earlier.
  17. Well, shoot. That's what I get for reading too quickly.

I thought subject of this thread was UNDRESSED GR questions.

Not really. The opposite of being loyal to a cause or person would be to subvert their followers away.

but when you are talking about a player who has stuck around for years, Fickle or Unreliable are not applicable.
I see what you're saying. The other way to handle the hero/villain dichotomy, IMO, is instead of going for the opposite term (as I did with the two you just cited), is to take the term to an extreme, making a vice out of a virtue, so to speak. Thus, instead of Fickle and Unreliable, you could have Mulish or Pigheaded.

I know most PEOPLE would not appreciate being called Fickle, Mulish, Treacherous, etc. but these titles are for their toons, not them. (Besides, take a look at the existing Vet titles. Would YOU like to be referred to as Zealous, Fervant or Addicted? )

    Alumnus

Not a horrendous suggestion, but not really necessary of any Dev time either
Thanks a lot. Obviously the devs disagreed and many of the above titles were given a female equivalent in i7.

not all Badges make sense as a Title for all toons be it due to backstory, AT, Powersets, personal preference, etc.
No kidding. How many toons would the "Doc Whedon" badge be an appropriate title for? (Hmmm. Maybe I could roll a scrapper and call her "Buffy the Slayer" ? )

    .
However, just as I'm sure many players with female toons were annoyed that so many badges weren't usable to them, I get annoyed when I'm looking for a badge title for my villains and so many of the early Vet badges make no sense at all for ANY of them. (Especially since, when you roll a new toon, all you have to start with are Vet badges and a couple of nearby Exporation badges.)

(I didn't know about "Treacherous" already being in use. Okay, substitute "Renegade" for that one.)
  20. giving villains the same Veteran Badge titles as Heroes. You know the ones I'm talking about:

    Faithful ?
    Loyal ?
TRUSTWORTHY ? What kind of name is THAT to give a villain?

Obviously some don't need to be changed: Eternal, City Traveler and Battle Hardened all apply equally to both hero and villain.

What I'm suggesting is that, where appropriate, Veteran badges have a villain variant.

Instead of "Trustworthy" (3 month badge), we would have "Sneaky."
    " " Faithful, " " Faithless or Wavering
    " " Dependable, " " Treacherous or Erratic
    " " Loyal, " " Traitorous or Subversive
    " " Steadfast, " " Fickle or Unsteady
    " " Devoted, " " Self-Centered or Selfish
    " " Dedicated, " " Unreliable or Stubborn

Most of the others, like Committed, Unswerving, and Eternal work for both Hero and Villain ("Addicted" seems an interesting choice for a villain), with the obvious exception of the 63 month badge, "Honorable," which of course would be "Disgraced."
  21. That's the information I was looking for.

    Thanks, ZM !
  22. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but just in case I'm wrong:

is there any way to earn Frostbitten (the badge for last year's Winter Event) on a toon created this year?
  23. I've looked around but haven't seen the answer to this.

When you defeat a villain (minion, Lt., whatever), you frequently get some kind of reward or "drop." It might be salvage, an inspiration, an enhancement or a recipe (although you don't seem to get recipes until you're close to level 10.)

What I'm wondering is: if I defeat a villain and whatever game mechanism that determines drops decides to reward me, what happens if that category is full? For example, I'm in the middle of a mission and the system decides to reward me with an enhancement BUT my enhancement tray is already full. Does the reward "roll over" to salvage or an inspiration or am I SOL?

In the badge drop-down menus your current badge title will be highlighted green. I believe you still can't use gladiator badges as a title.

I knew you could search the badges but was wondering if something showed it.

    Thanks for all the responses.
