Alignment switching and Supergroups?
You don't necessarily have to "start over" or demolish anything. Simply use 1 character to make a second group (on Heroside), then transfer the items over to the new base. You'll still have to start at 0 prestige on the new base and build up from there, but as long as you keep at least 1 character in the old group, you wont lose what you already have, and you can still utilize the base if you decide to keep a few characters on Villainside and/or decide to move other characters back to Villainside at a later date.
I know that if you switch alignments fully you may no longer access your supergroup. The information also states that if you are the SG leader that position will be transferred to someone else.
Is it possible to completely transfer a SG and base from one faction to the other? Can I take my villain group from red side to blue, base and all? Can it be done just by switching the SG and needing to demolish the base and build a new one from scratch? (ouch 500 enhancements in storage...) My kids like to team every now and again, and frankly redside on our server is pretty empty so I was toying with the idea of taking everything blue instead. If it means having to completely junk the base, that's a stumbling block. If it means having to start the SG over from scratch at 0 prestige... not sure that would happen. |
Ok, the suggestions are fine... though trying to deal with 5 enhancement tables and 13 salvage racks that are stuffed full through e-mails would be a serious pain. Not really functional to tell an 11 year old and 8 year old to remember what they need, switch characters and e-mail to themselves. Just not a good solution.
It has been implied, but not solidly answered. Are these suggestions to say that it is not possible in any way to change a SG from one alignment to another?
No, not in the manner you are after.

But here's another idea. Don't go all the way Hero, just go Rogue. That will give your characters access to Heroside for the teaming you want, and also keep access to your Villain base and items.
I wasn't necessarily saying that your 8 year old would have to do that. If your idea was to make everybody go Heroside, you could spend some of your own time moving the items over to the hero base where they could access them anyway.

not trying to hijack this thread but
Awhile back I inherited a sg. I am the only player who's logged in almost 2 years. I am changing the alignment of the SG leader so he can do the patron power arc. When I got the alignment morality mish, a window came up informing me that if I changed alignment, I would no longer be leader of the group.
This is not a problem if it's just short term. I intend to change back to hero or vigilante after I complete the patron arc. I can do without base entry for that long. I just want to verify that I'm not being dropped from SG roster since there will be no one to re-invite me to sg.

Just keep in mind that, if one of the long-absent members happens to return during that time, they will get the red star since you are ineligible.

I thought that was the case but wanted to make sure. Thanks for the responses.
