Attention Heroes and Villains!
Tomorrow, (November 18th, 2009) we are going to host another public test of our 2009 Winter Event on the North American Training Room. As with the recent Halloween Event, the Winter Event has been updated!! If you would like to check the event out, please join us on the North American Training Room tomorrow at 4:00 PM Pacific / 7:00 PM Eastern. The public test will last until 8:00 PM Pacific / 11:00 PM Eastern.
There will be a Global Chat channel called Winter 2009 for ease of communication.
Based upon feedback received from the first Winter Event test last week on November 12th, we have made the following changes:
- Lord Winters resistances have been equalized
- Added a countdown timer to the User Interface while within Lord Winters Realm
- Increased the number of Winter Horde Frostlings that must be defeated to open the portal to Lord Winters Realm
- Frostlings spawned from a present will aggro correctly again
- Increased the Merit Rewards for defeating Lord Winter
- Completing Father Time's mission will once again give the choice of selecting 5 Candy Canes

- Shield Defense Fixed a bug that caused some falling animations to loop with a shield out.

- Ninja Run (available through the Martial Arts Pack) - Corrected PvP suppression speed and height values for the Ninja Run power. They were set equivalent to Super Jump, instead of the proper values.

That's not what happened. The rep system still works the exact same way it did. Viewing rep comments on a Users CP was turned off due to the fact that it was too easy for users to bypass the ignore function and those not wanting to even take part in the rep system were forced to do so. It had nothing to do with moderation as it's very easy to moderate rep comments and those leaving them.
We still would like to find a way to implement it so the comments are viewable however we will not do it unless we find a way for those not interested in it to turn it off. -

COMBINED
Gameplay
- Resolved a game stability issue (which was in no way related to the Walk power).
Macintosh Client
- Fixed a mouse cursor issue that affected Macintosh users who had the Intel GMA x3100 video card.
- The "Enter" key on the Macintosh Number keypad will no longer have the same functionality as the "Return" key on the keyboard.
Mission Architect
- Arcs using high level bosses from villain groups with non-continuous level ranges (The Family, Banished Pantheon, etc), were being incorrectly detected as invalid when characters tried to enter the mission door, after the mission was accepted. These arcs are now playable again.
- Custom Villain Groups that were composed of both custom and non-custom critters would only spawn the custom critters in missions. This has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug that could incorrectly exemplar players to a very low level when swapping missions.
Powers
General
- Fixed a bug where some powers (i.e. Healing Aura, Warmth) would occasionally root a character in place when the power was activated.
- Flight - Fixed a bug with windup animations while flying. (They were being interrupted by pre-flight animations, which were then interrupted by the windup animation, etc.)
- Shield Defense (All) - Fixed a bug that made leaping animations and sounds stutter while a character had a shield out.
- The Shivan Shard temp power now works correctly while exemplared. Previously, the summoning animation would play and a charge would be consumed, but nothing would be summoned.
Walk Power - All characters will now have access to a new inherent power -- Walk! This toggle power enables characters to move at a comfortable walking pace.
- The "Walk" power is an Inherent toggle power given to all characters at Level 2.
- Please Note that powers or jumping (i.e. pressing the Space Bar) cannot be used while walking.
- This power is not intended for use in combat.
- Walk - The Walk Power now has a new Icon.
- Walk - The Walk power is now interrupted by falling, swimming and sliding.
- Walk - Fixed a bug with Walk where Increase Slow IO set bonuses were affecting walking speed
- Fixed a bug with stunned enemies playing the Walk animation rather than the normal dizzy walk
Tailor
- All references to 'Talsorian' in the game have been changed to 'Vanguard'. Any character that currently uses any of these costume pieces or custom weapons will be required to change them when they make any changes at the Tailor/Facemaker. (Please Note that we granted Costume Tokens on the Live Servers on Tuesday, November 10th).
Tasks
- Fixed a bug where Task / Strike Forces with a Level range that includes Level 50 (in the TF/SF range) spawn at one level below the team's level.
CITY OF HEROES
Tasks
- Midnighter Club: Mercedes Sheldon's story arc Crown of Glory was not giving out a story arc completion reward upon speaking to the contact. This has been fixed and the appropriate reward is now issued by the contact at story arc completion.
