I don't think there's any others quite like that one. Mercedes Sheldon's hero arcs all do weird things with ambushes, but that's the most interesting one.
However, I'm pretty fond of Darrin Wade's arc, which is redside. The last mission is very unusual. I believe you get given him automatically at level 20 these days.
Unfortunately, the "Living Armor" in that arc broke a long time ago and as far as I know hasn't been fixed yet. It used to actually be totally stationary and untargetable, indistinguishable from the armor that's normally in the Midnighter Club, but now they have idle animations and can be targeted (though not attacked) from the start... -
Quote:Nope. They are similar arcs, but the Prof. Echo one is redside as the OP described.
Quote:The mission I'm referring to has you fighting some boss that keeps coming back every time you beat him. Sometimes even appearing right before he dies... Does anyone know which arc this is?Quote:It might have been because I was solo or something the 1st time.
It just seemed like he kept cloning himself. Everytime you'd put him down he'd click his watch and another him would appear, or run around the corner and fight you.
At one point I was fighting two of him. -
Well, you can also pick and color your mace if you have any mace-using powers from Black Scorpion.
-
That's not a redside arc. That's one of Mercedes Sheldon's hero arcs, "The Magic Man"

I use Gravitic Emanation and Gravity Well constantly. I always open a fight with Gravitic Emanation and then pick the hardest target in the group and Gravity Well them (I have it slotted for both damage and hold). I think it's too strong to pass up. It's the single hardest-hitting attack a Warshade can get and is also an easily permable mag 3 hold.
Otherwise, I largely just use the standard human-form powers: Mire, Stygian Circle, Dark Extraction, and Eclipse. I'll drop to human regularly for any of these. -
I despise Brutes. Fury is the opposite of how I want to play.
Stalkers are probably my favorite normal AT, and it makes me sad how underappreciated they are. I can't really play Scrappers any more, though I don't actually have anything against them.
Tanks are fun. I enjoy being able to stand in the middle of something stupid and not die.
Corrs are good. So are Defenders, but of course the Defender inherent is crap. I remember hearing that it's going to become better soon, so maybe I'll be making more Defenders soon? (One of my few 50s is a Defender...)
Masterminds are okay. They're like crappy Defenders with their own personal team. I like them in theory, but I always seem to get bored eventually.
I love Controllers and Doms. My first 50 hero (Nishastra) was a Controller, and my first almost-50 villain (I really dislike Grandville and tend to stop playing characters shortly after they get there) was a Dom.
Blasters are good. I used to make a lot of Blasters, and the "new" Defiance was a great boon. I've kinda strayed from that, though, and generally prefer a bit more survivability.
My favorite abnormal AT is certainly Warshade. My Warshade is my favorite character overall. I enjoyed my Peacebringer as well, but when they made it impossible to do the double-stomp any more I lost interest, as that was a lot of fun in invasions. I'll get back to her someday.
It's kinda funny how my favorite ATs are the least popular ones in the game. I see that the Soldiers forum actually has the least posts in it, but people generally seem to like them? (I still can't stand Grandville and thus have no 50 villains, so I haven't played one) As evidenced in this very topic, lots of people love to **** on Khelds and Stalkers. It amuses me (in a sad way) just how often people forget that Stalkers even exist. Lots of times I see people talk about the melee ATs and list "scrapper, brute, tank". But alas...
As for the actual question of the topic, I think it evens out. I like Stalkers better than Scrappers, Corrs better than Defenders (if only because of the currently-useless Defender inherent), but I despise Brutes whereas there's no hero AT I hate :P -

The "Architect Comlink" accolade is also a macro you can edit, so you can use that icon if you have the Mission Engineer badge.

Thought I'd point out a few more Ninja Run problems I've noticed.
When jumping back or forward, shirts/jackets and the like clip into the back.
Also, when jumping forward, the left shoulder seems to be smooshed in a bit. -
The Villain one doesn't work, as the line for it in Start has "macto" rather than "macro"
This is great, however. I've been too lazy to make my own popmenus :P -
All of my characters have bios. I can't play a character who isn't actually... you know, a character. I write them very short and simple. I almost never come anywhere near the maximum length.
I don't write entire personal history or insights in bios, because it doesn't make sense to me to learn that sort of thing by looking at someone, and because my characters generally wouldn't be the type to be going around announcing their life story to everyone they meet.
There's a lot more to the characters in my head, but I just prefer my bios short. -
I originally bought my second account for someone else to use, but they no longer do and never will again. In recent times I use it to get new characters into my SGs and to transfer stuff between characters.
I don't actually play on it, so it's not active if I don't need it. -
The game changes that automatically. Whenever it's not in focus, it goes to "Below Normal", and when it is in focus, it goes to "Normal".
As such, you can't change it manually, but don't worry about it actually running at "Below Normal", because it's not. -
New Ninja Run animations went live today, and while the female forward jump animation is better, the neutral/back one now has problems.
As you can see, the torso is flattened and twisted to the right. -
Well, I bugged it and posted it in the animation topic there. I hadn't been playing my Blasters since then, so I didn't know if anything had changed one way or another.
I just now got on one of my ARs to test and it's definitely still happening. I got held by a Gunslinger and Burst did the Full Auto animation. I haven't noticed any other problems myself. -
I can't really calculate. In addition to all the boxes and packs I've bought across two accounts, I used to pay for the game entirely via CoH/CoV time cards, and I got them for wildly varying prices, but always less than $15/month, or else I wouldn't have bought them, obviously :P
I used to have this huge pile of used time cards next to my desk. -
Quote:Well, I discovered a while ago that when held by a Gunslinger's ice shot, Burst uses the Full Auto animation, and you can't do anything else until it finishes. I don't know that they've fixed that yet. Perhaps it's gotten worse? :PI'm soloing through the Indigo story arc on my AR/EM Blaster, and I'm running into some odd situations where Defiance does not seem to be working.
I'll be blasting away at a Gunslinger and get held... and suddenly neither Burst nor Slug will fire. I sit there and spam the keys, but nothing happens. I don't think this is just server hiccup, either, as it's happened more than once, and nothing else in the game is jumping, etc. -
Here's mine.
I set up everything the same way on every character. Vet attacks and brawl are bound to shift+1-3, spaces 4 and 5 are bound to ` and tab, and are for things I use often but not constantly.
Tray 1: 1-5 are for single-target attacks, if I have that many. On characters with barely any single target attacks, I'll put other targeted things there too. The other side is for non-attack clicks, maybe toggles if I don't have enough clicks to fill it.
Tray 2: Left side: Something other than what I put in tray 1. Area attacks, controls, buffs, debuffs, heals, whatever I've got. Right side: Rest (always), and usually any toggles I don't have need to turn off. Also put temp power armors here.
Tray 3: Left side: Whatever targeted things I've got left after trays 1 and 2, if anything. Right Side: My "FPS" macro (maxfps 60$$maxinactivefps 2$$camdist varies by character), mission teleporter, self destruct, mystic fortune, raptor pack, and any other useful temp powers.
Stuff on the left is always used via keyboard, stuff on the right is sometimes clicked. I'll bind non-attack powers that I need to use often to things like t, g, v, and f1-f4.
R is always sprint, shift+r is Ninja Run or Super Speed if I have it. F is raptor pack or fly. C is hover if I have it.
I don't keep trays 2 and 3 visible. -
I just found out that my aborted Steam install made the game think it wasn't installed any more, and the updater tried to install it. If anyone has problems with this, what you have to do is copy the updater to a different directory (because it freaks out if you try to install in the directory the updater is in), then tell it to install where you already have the game. It'll find it and set everything else up right again.
-
I just bought it, as I didn't have an "Architect Edition" key on my main account. After you buy it, you have to start installing it via Steam, then it takes you to the PlayNC site and you can just add the key to an existing account. Then you can cancel the Steam install and go about your business.

I think I take the axe more often than not. Certainly on anyone who is heavily smash, lethal, or negative. Also on weapony people.
Also, just generally, as it animates faster, recharges faster, and costs less to use, I often get more use of it throughout the early levels than I do Sands.
And while the bonus doesn't apply to Vahz, they are weak against lethal, so I'll use it on them anyway for non-lethal characters. -
"Nishastra" is the name of my first character to get to 50. I forget what name I used before she took off. I use this name everywhere now, even though I no longer play Nishastra.

The female jumping animations on Ninja Run need some work.
That's the forward jump as seen from the side.
And this is the backflip landing.
Neither one looks... pleasant :P
