    Flooring ?

You can use the little green Tech containers, they are only 2 and a half units thick, but you'll need a lot of them.

I've on occasion used Large Fluorescent Lamps, dropped down from the ceiling. They make a one unit high floor.

  2. The problem with Floor Lamps is that the textures on the top of the lamps can clash when they're overlapped and look ugly.

I'm seeing it as the old "I've been abused and used all my life and this is the first boy to show me real kindness" trope.

But I can see her rationalizing it as gathering intel.

  4. I have a Champions character named Doc Thunder.

He is not a bloody super-hero.

He is a Scientist. With a Science Gun.

He got annoyed in the 1600s with this irritating thing called "aging", so he stopped doing it. With Science.

  5. The cap isn't a Dev-set limitation. Its a limitation of their database - they simply never anticipated people even going over the 10K item mark, so they didn't design their software to be able to handle it. The more items you have, the more database calls the system has to make, and it gets to the point the base eventually breaks.

To re-write the database system would require a kinda massive amount of work, on the level where it'd probably be easier to write a whole new editor from scratch. Which ain't happening.

The 20K mark is about where people have been encountering "base lock" where they can't enter their base or crash when entering, and have to get a GM to revert their base to an earlier server save.

Note, however, that this is assuming you do NOT use any base storage items - Salvage racks, vaults, etc. The item limit has been observed to be as little as 12,000 items if you have heavy use of storage items.

Good idea? Bad idea? That remains to be seen. I'm just glad to see Bruce is expanding his horizons a little, looking beyond Gotham. Hopefully this move will give Bruce some much needed international legitimacy as well, and help shed the "idiot playboy" identity. I still think there would be nothing cooler than to see: Bruce Wayne, Head of Checkmate (or whatever large-scale international peace-keeping force there happens to be at the time)
Isn't there already a Wayne Enterprises funded organization in place that does this?

I dunno. I think it was called the Justice League?

I may have been imagining things.

I got the impression that Mom mentioning the Mustang was just fond memories, not her passing on info. Mom didn't know Elly was looking through the newspaper at Mustang advertisements.

  10. If you mean move the ceiling dome down so that it's off the ceiling, put a Large Hanging Lamp in the center of where you want the dome to be, and then stick another Large Hanging Lamp to the bottom of the first one, and so on until you get to the elevation you want. Then stick the Ceiling Dome to that.

What's nice about the ceiling dome is that it is textured on all sides, including the side that normally sticks to the ceiling, so when lowered down it becomes a hovering round platform.

  11. Yeah, it matters what you have your ultra mode water settings at.

  12. Yeah, there's really only one teenage regular, and one that appears in maybe 2/3rds of the episodes. All the others tend to be one-off appearances or maybe 2-3 episodes.

The vast majority of the rest of the cast is above age 30.

  13. Things to remember:

Make a column of floor safes or accent lamps near where you are working, and attach a floor tile to the column to use as scaffolding. You can slide the floor tile up and down the column to easily position other floor objects at any elevation.

"Can't unstack" desk object errors can be solved by dragging the desk into another room first.

Floor objects can be moved without changing their elevation by positioning your camera to look at them from below. Take care not to let your cursor touch any floor safes, accent lamps, or the walls while you are doing this, as these can alter elevation by touching any part of them. Similarly ceiling objects can be moved without elevation change while viewed from above, as long as you don't touch other ceiling objects or the walls.

If you are getting flickering textures from overlapping objects, try substituting a similar object for one of the problem ones. For example, two overlapping "desk counters" will have texture flickering, but an overlapping "desk counter" and a "counter with drawers" will not. Also, sometimes just flipping one of the offending objects will work - two of the translucent Supergroup logo stands will flicker if overlapped in the same orientation, but flip one of the windows 180 degrees and they stop flickering.

    Thanks for any advice.
Just to make sure you know, more than just the Defense rooms can take Defense items - some of the rooms in the other categories can too. They mostly say "secure" somewhere in the room name but not always. You'll have to look at the stat block for the room to make sure.

Also, the "Death Trap" Defense Room can also take Control items. This can be useful.

I've found the best "blue" water floor is the Miyuki style pattern with the colors set to blue. Then use a safe or accent lamp to raise the slow field a few steps above the floor.

    slow field

More specifically, the room has to accept Defensive Items.

If you click on a room, the stats should show up in one of the windows, and among these stats will tell you how many items of what sort are allowed and how many are already placed.

Unfortunately, NONE of the Decorative rooms accept Defensive Items.

    Stacking Objects

With either lamp or safe, you use the side of the object to adjust the floor tile.

Stack up a columns of safes or accent lamps. Doesn't matter which.

Now, try to stick a Floor Tile to the SIDE of the column, as if you were trying to place a wall item there.

Please go look up the definition of "strawman".

He's discussing the same thing you are.

Not "presenting a similar but false situation and then attacking that made up situation as proof that he is right."

Your position seems to be that the writers must view conservatives as being like Cat.

Durakken is positing that this idea is wrong, that Cat hating liberals and generally being an idiot is just a symptom of Cat being Cat, not that the writers view Cat as "representing all conservatives."

Dur has done the strawman thing before, but this isn't one of them.

    Here's the problem.

A massive amount of the viewers didn't WANT to see a 50's B-movie genre film.

They wanted to see a 30's era Pulp Serial.

It's actually a pretty well known phenomena. People do often CLAIM they want "new and different", but the reality is they really want "more of the same".

    Yeah.

In pretty much all the really complex bases, the biggest bulk of the items are stuff cobbled together to make walls and floors.

A floor "section" under the current system is 32 desks.

A similar wall is 16 to 48 wall cabinets.

Putting in simple walls and floors will drop the item counts in any base that's near the 12,000 item database limit by literally 80 to 90 percent.

  24. I don't necessarily think Cat is supposed to be necessarily representative of any group except possibly "stupid people".

Just because Cat is a certain way, doesn't mean they are trying to say anyone else is that way.

I think it's more a condemnation of narrow-mindedness than anything else.
