I now have 2TBs worth of external HDD.
Just rebacking up everything now on one, and will copy content (video, pictures, digital comics) that I tend to use on the laptop and the PS3 on the other. I spent about $130 for both.
Why in the world did I not do this years ago?! -
-
Cleaner now.
I wanted to post it earlier, but I had to work a lot this week and really didn't have time. External HDDs not shown, as I'm going to pick those up in a few hours. -
Quote:Heh. The wallpaper is actually one that someone posted on the forums a few months ago. I just happened to *acquire* it that day. What came to mind was, "Man that's alot of power rangers!"
And it looks like I'll have to settle for the laptop instead of a 2nd monitor for now. Believe it or not, one of the platters in my portable HDD actually shattered last week.
So I plan on getting two external HDDs Saturday. Overkill? Maybe, but I'd rather have too much HDD than not enough. -
More weapon skins for weapon sets.
Elemental skins as well for weapons that don't have them. I will never stop asking. -
-
Please excuse the mess.
I will repost a cleaner versions later. I like stealing the ideas of others. (I usually do it from another site though.)
Still debating on whether I should get second monitor. The project that I really needed it for was cancelled (I don't have enough time these days), but it'd be nice to go back to a dual screen setup. -
Quote:My view is from that of the Air Force.
While they won't often demand it, competent NCO's absolutely deserve and likewise command respect from enlisted man and commissioned officer alike.
This is true. I've worked with Lieutenants in the past who would admit that while they may outrank Master/Senior Master/Chief Master Sergeants, these ranks are treated with the upmost respect even amongst officers.
Our Squadron Commander would sometimes say (half jokingly) that it was the Chief Master Sergeant who really ran things.
Quote:Fiction, in particular movies, seem to always place high ranking commissioned officers in places you wouldn't typically see them. -

Necromancer has a supernatural ability to bring long-dead forum discussion threads back to life. After having been flogged to death the thread may have been deceased for many years, and bringing it back may have scant relevance to the current topic, yet Necromancer will unexpectedly exhume the threads rotting corpse, and strike horror in the forum as its grotesque form lurches into the discussion. The monster, instantly recognized by all who knew it in life, seems at first to breathe and have a pulse, but, alas, it is beyond Necromancers skill to fully restore the threads original vitality. The hideous apparition may frighten away some of the weaker Warriors or Warriors badly wounded in former battles, but the thread is only a shadow of its former self and very quickly expires. -
Either solo or teaming with people I know.
From what I've heard about Black Friday, (I've never gone out on that day, nor do I wish to) Double XP weekends make a lot of people act like that in game. -

Quote:Never understood this about Marvel. Mutants get the bad treatment, but heroes of other origins are treated with.....not as bad treatment, but they don't give their heroes the same level of respect that the DC populace does.I applaud the courts, if we let those darn dirty muties define themselves as human like we are, who knows what they'll try to take from us next! Give an inch, and they'll blast a mile with those crazy eye beams they can shoot! No more mutants! No more mutants!
I get the real life Civil Rights analogy, but still. You'd think it be as simple as a mutant deciding to lie and say "I got my powers from a lab accident." Honestly, who'd be able to tell the difference out of the normal populace?
Beast could get away with it, as his blue fur WAS caused by an accident. Unless that was retconned. -
That reminds me.....wasn't there an Incarnate Ability that was called Stance at one point?

I agree with some of the posts, and it does apply to horror movies as well.......most people just are unable to react to extreme situations.
My favorite trend breaker is from the movie "The People Under The Stairs". Most people would stand their and wet their pants when trapped in a locked house with an insane couple and their dog that has a taste for human flesh. The main character in the movie, however, does everything that I wish people in horror movies would do, the main one being USING COMMON SENSE. And a lot of improvised weapons.
And the main character was a 12 year old kid. -
Quote:I couldn't think of anything either, so I told everyone a gift card would be fine.I only got a PSN $20 and a Amazon $25 cards since my Mother would not let me have a Xmas without SOMETHING. even thou we are tight on money this year. I love my dear Mother.
I got up to $150 total in PlayStation Network cards. Tactics Ogre, here I come.
Probably gonna grab mostly PSP games, since I already have a vast amount of PS1 and PS3 games on my PS3's HDD. -

We're supposed to get Invulnerability Melee and Dual Archery before Shield Offense.

*wonders if the prices of Kinetic Combat will drop due to this*
EDIT: saw Random
Maybe not. -

Disclaimer: This isn't a rant thread about me being able to come up with a name. I need no help in that department, and my signature includes a link for those who are less creative.....or don't try as hard.
I tend to see this conversation come up a lot often when I am in game.....and it's usually from someone who keeps trying names, only to be told that the name is not available, or is already in use.
"Well how come I never see this person if the name is already being used?!" the person tends to ask. My thoughts on it:
1. You aren't online at the same time as the person that has the name that you want (due to different time zones, work schedules, et al)
2. The person that has the name you want is probably on hide (I know someone who did this when he had a dozen folks send him tells asking for his name)
3. The name is taken, but is an unplayed character (either because the person can't think of a concept but really wants the name, or he/she snagged the name, and keeps it unplayed on purpose so no one else can have it)
4. The person probably quit the game long ago and has no intention of returning
#4 was actually mentioned by someone else, but it did make me wonder. I know there was a name freeing a few years ago, and that it wasn't all that effective, or it didn't free up the names that many wanted......or something like that.
But what about the names that are on long dead accounts?
I am aware that the devs don't reset names in the hopes that players that cancelled their accounts return. I know for a fact that if I were to unsub and return, and all my names had been taken, I'd be a bit sore about it, but coming up with new ones wouldn't be hard. Most players aren't as forgiving though. If they see that their names are gone, they probably won't be staying with the game any longer.
You'd think that they'd have a different stance on accounts that have been inactive for years. Players who have been gone for years do return......but at the same time, there are players who unsubbed long ago, and most likely will not be coming back.
I'm just using this scenario as an example, but doing a /getglobalname search for Intense on Virtue nets me........nothing. The player who had that name seems to have quit before global handles were even introduced. And both sides can argue. He may return one day. He may stay gone forever.
I suppose at the end of the day, it's hard to tell who will return, and who has no plans of coming back.
*(I am aware that some former players are now deceased that have names that others might want, but did not want to mention it at first. I didn't want anyone to misunderstand what I meant.)
Thoughts? -
Do I also remember a similar post appearing a few years ago, saying that heavily IOed characters made everyone else feel obsolete?
-
EDIT: Whoa, sorry about the large size.
I'll play. Here are some of mine.
It's nowhere near what my childhood collection was (50 heroes, 50 villains across various mediums)
I'd rebuild, but action figures aren't as cheap as they used to be. -
Well, it's not like what they have today is either good, (I know its' a subjective word) or lasts long enough to not get axed after a single season.
-
I can't argue with that list at all.
