  2. Nightmarer

    Spines/Fire/Dark

Still, to each their own, I prefer going full AoE with burn and stuff, not so fussed on numbers as of lately, prefer to go for fun powers. If I went purely for numbers, should incorporate Rise of the Phoenix in my attack chain for full efectiveness since faceplanting is a mere technicality...
  3. Nightmarer

    Spines/Fire/Dark

See, Hasten is a pet hate of mine tbh, I know the devs are looking into less used Pool Powers and stuff, I just wish they wouldn't stop there and also give alternatives to powers such as Hasten which are a "must" in everyone's build.

So far got the same attack chain in my Spines/WP without Dark Blast/Torrent/TT (no ancillary for him) and no Hasten and works fine on him so I guess this one would have more tools to play with, but to each their own.
  4. Nightmarer

    Spines/Fire/Dark

Would this one work? I personally love the idea of keeping mobs immobilized ready for Spine Burst/Burn/Quills/Blazing Aura and use Torrent as panic button:

    Fender FTW!
  6. Nightmarer

    Hami raids

Basically it is far more difficult now than it was prior to I9 (maybe it was too easy before then), needs far more coordination, less people allowed in map, debt cap guaranteed and last but not least, there are other/better/funnier ways to get same reward.-
  7. The infamous guide to illusion trollers comes to mind... plus a few more guides from same author
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Never been a fan of the Sims so base building doesn't interest me much. I tend to look for the teleporters and that's about it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh, nowadays not even for teleporters, the Pocket D Teleport and Ouroboros Portal suit most needs plus they're faster than the base entry loading screen... providing game doesn't crash ofc, bases are mainly for Set IO storage, for me at least.-
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Hmmm. Still have never managed to do Hess

    [/ QUOTE ]

This Sir is unforgivable, best TF ingame, fun, nice and short, it should be mandatory for everyone to do Hess.

Give a shout whenever you wish and we can arrange it, honestly, nobody should miss Hess.-
  10. When farming with both my accounts, the one I've got in follow mode has been walking quite often so I don't think it is that hard to implement.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    Two rather different subjects, but while Im here;

    1. Why are the civilians in Mayhem missions targetable? It the most annoying thing, trying to cycle through targets, and you keep wasting powers on them. Can they be made either un-targetabble, a la Hero-side, or can they be killable, which is perfectly fitting for villains and will add much entertainment and a sense of satisfaction -nods-

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can hit them with the FF first power (can't remember the name, Force Bolt maybe?). I used to giggle on my MM sending them flying away while my thugs worked on foes
  12. Can't check until I get home this evening, but I'd honestly just slot Tough with the Steadfast +3% prot in base slot and leave it untoggled, can't say the 15ish% smashing/lethal resistance ever made a difference tbh.

The order of the power selections strikes a bit weird, I'd make sure not to exemp down later and I'd definitey take Shadow Maul instead of Midnight Grasp for some AoE.-
  13. Will give you a shout if I am logged in case you need ppl to fill, although Synapse TF is as good as a stab in the crotch, has to be done for accolade
  14. Nightmarer

    #13 downloading

Hmmm open beta later this week - early next, two weeks of open beta then launch. Any bets for when I13 comes live ladies and gentlemen?

    I say November the 25th
  15. Quite easy to stuff both, as it has 90% base acc you don't need to use much acc on your slotting, either Dampened Spirits, Dark Watcher's Despair, Glimpse of the Abyss and Nightmare sets fit there and all are quite cheap, plus you can also use Lysosome and Endoplasm Exposure HOs, which aren't expensive HOs to buy either, combined among them or with the sets.

Nice power to have with easy and cheap slotting and if on a DM/DA (or DA/DM ofc) stacks nicely with Cloak of Fear.
  16. Slotted I think it is nearly 20% ToHit Debuff and it's very helpful for any set with better synergy on defense reliant sets, such as Inv or Ice

    Click And Run

If people did run+click instead of click+run it probably wouldn't be a problem

    spnes/fire/?

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
Tbh, you don't need to dip into the fighting pool on a spines/fire. Just with plasma and fire sheild on, you have a 70%-ish (With 3 res IOs) resistance to smashing, lethal and fire damage

    [/ QUOTE ]

not on a scrapper im afraid

    [/ QUOTE ]

And not sure of those figures even on a tanker without Fighting Pool, iirc a Fire Tank with shields and tough gets around 70% smashing/lethal res while a scrapper gets 53ish% (iirc, ofc).-
  19. Yup, that's pretty much it but bear in mind that Protection has different Magnitudes, hence a Mag 3 Protection will negate the effects of an attack of Magnitude lower than 3, but attacks of higher Magnitude will still have effect on you, that's where resistance factors in reducing the time.

In this case, Acrobatics has a KB Protection Mag 9 and a Hold Protection Mag 2 (iirc, plus resistance), in Dark Armor case, Acrobatics is purely for the KB effect because your Obsidian Shield will give you a higher Magnitude protection against Hold than Acrobatics.

Note that, if needed, you can increase the KB Protection Magnitude on Acrobatics by slotting KB Distance IO's.
  20. Main problem you might find with OG is the glitch that makes stunned foes slide away from you very fast. It is annoying enough in both my Fire/DA and DM/DA scrappers so my guess is that it can be more annoying on a tanker. CoF at least keeps them in place and debuffed in accuracy.
I'd personally go for CoF prior to OG, downsides of CoF are, of course, the high end usage and the pitiful accuracy so taking CoF will need as much +acc as you can gather from sets/pool powers and, of course, as much +recovery as you can get.

Don't worry about the health cost of OG, 3 slotted Health should compensate it with no problem.
  21. Hmmm I think now Celestine should solo fine tbh and even better after I13 hits live.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Soul Drain was basically given a "first target bonus" much like Invincibility has. Per target used to net you +15.625% dmg / +5% tohit, not it grants +10% dmg / +2% tohit in addition to a one time +50% dmg / +10% tohit. (The screen doesn't explicitly say this, but it's the only logical way i can interpret it.) It scales like this

    [/ QUOTE ]
  23. Smite is great to deliver last blow and finish a fight so I wouldn't worry about it, but maybe now it's more interesting in your build to slot Touch of Death in Smite and Mako's Bite on Siphon Life...
  24. Nightmarer

    spnes/fire/?

On a spines/fire I'd go for Torrent as a form of damage mitigation and "panic button" for when the brwon stuff gets close to the fan. Also, as you mentioned, with the right positioning, the combo Torrent+BU+Throw Spines+Spine Burst = teh lulz

Dark Blast is nice all negative damage and fast recharge, being spines heavy on smashing component, dark blast can help a lot because negative damage is one of the less resisted in game, plus the spines attack chain is not specially fast, so Dark Blast can help fill nicely on the attack chain.

Petrifying Gaze, although it can be useful as you said, is more situational than the other two, so I'd go for Torrent and Dark Blast as pre-requisites to TT instead of Petrifying Gaze.
