  2. I would not be surprised at all if BaBs was retconned into a Street Justice/Willpower Brute.

Because Brutes can be heroic now.

I chose the face I did cause it kinda keeps that world-weary look the original has on her face. And while i'd never wear red shoes with that outfit... I picked the bridal heels cause they are kinda chunky like her original shoes.
Hrm... flatten the chest a bit and I'd like it.

    Right.

Scirocco is a Corruptor, Black Scorpion is a Brute, Captain Mako is a Stalker, Ghost Widow is a Dominator (Which bugs me to no end. Why does -she- get all the Dark/Dark Dominator powers?), and Recluse is a Mastermind with a dash of Crab Spider.

I still love it. Though my favorite part is the scene with Protean.

    The music -really- makes it.

    ...Oh!

    Math, yes.

That would be... yes. Okay then.

True, but once you get out of the early levels, it sort of fades into the background.

It's a hard working little fellow, but it never gets any recognition.

    Especially not from me.
  8. So... this is kind of an odd issue, but...

I was looking over the inherent powers, which I really think bring flavor to the archetypes.

Fury, Defiance, Gauntlet, Containment, Domination, Critical Hit...

Aaaand... then I got to Conditioning.

    ...Yeah.

Self: Increased Regeneration (0.50%) and Recovery (1.75%)

    ...*cough*

...There are set bonuses more powerful than this.

I mean, it's not like it's -bad- or anything, but... we get Fitness at level 2 now.

I mean, look at the other inherents. Critical hits. Scourge. Fury. Domination. These are things that define an archetype.

VEATs get an inherent that most people likely have forgotten existed.

You'd think that VEATs, being designed to play well in teams, would have something like Vigilance. But...

...I dunno. It's just weird effectively "not having" an inherent, especially for an epic. You know?
  9. SPEAKING OF RAINBOWS.

    Dear Tunnel Rat.

May we please have a Beam Gun that shoots rainbows?

    Love,

Alright, I'mma pitch Fortunatas to you.

Fortunatas, in my humble opinion, are on the higher end of the power spectrum.

    They've got...

    • Middling Damage. It's somewhere between Defender and Blaster in terms of numbers, not counting any buffs. (Speaking of which, a Solo Defender does a lot of damage now, thanks to the new Vigilance, but I digress.) It doesn't do as much damage as say... my Triple Rage'd Brute, but it does well.
    • Signature attacks like Subdue and Dominate double as controls.
    • Your Nuke is on par with the Defender version from Psi Blast, but it doesn't crash. Do a fairly good amount of psi damage to everyone around you, stun most of them, slow all of them, and still have the end to pick them off with your other attacks.
    • Willpower's Mez Protection, which guards against everything but Slows. (And there's an IO for that).
    • Nearly capped defenses at minimal effort.
    • Great team support at a minimal effort. The only clicky buffs you'll get also buff you.
    • Maneuvers, for free, with a higher bonus and lower end cost. And they stack with the pool.
    • Melee attacks if... you're inclined for some reason.
    • Stealth, which is good. And the ability to crit from stealth if you use a melee attack. (Sorry, no ranged stealth crits)
    • Brute Patron Pools. (Which means you can snag Darkest Night and Gloom!)
There are some big downsides, however.

    • You don't get any of these cool psychic powers until level 25, as you have to spend your first few levels derping around with claws.
    • You have to start as a villain. No going through Praetoria or Galaxy City.
    • You don't have access to Ancillary Pools, which means if you go Hero before level 40, you'll have to go back to Villain in order to pick an epic pool.
    • Your Inherent power, [Conditioning], is by far the lamest inherent in the game. You have slightly increased regeneration and recovery, which in the post Inherent Fitness game has gone from "meh" to "SoAs have an inherent?"
    • Widows are an Epic Archetype, so if your account ever drops to premium, there's a chance you might get locked out.
Other than that though, they're awesome, and you should try one.

Well, Leadership already affects you in a not at all insignificant way. (Ask any Arachnos Soldier)

As for solo versions of the powers, Maneuvers is basically an AoE Weave.

Tactics and Assault would be -okay- as solo powers, but I find a lot of their utility is in affecting the whole team. That's what makes it worth the end cost.

As for Venge... Venge is a team power. You need a teammate for it to work. Even if it were some weird auto venge that proc'd whenever someone died, you'd need a teammate to avenge. So... there's that.

I'm personally fond of Fortunatas, But... Mind/Psi Dom, Psi/Pain or Psi/Kin Corruptors sound good for Psychics at level 1.

But I still love my Fort. Everything softcapped, crashless nukes...Mmmm...
  13. So, let's be honest. We all want to know what goes on at ComicCon, or PAX. But not everyone can get there. Every year, thousands upon thousands of City of Heroes players are forced to watch from the sidelines as the lucky few who can afford to travel, or who are fortunate enough to live near a major convention get to grab new information first hand!

Well, I propose we change that.

Ladies and Gentlemen... City of Heroes has an amazing community team to go with an amazing community.

So, I figured... let's bring the convention to us!

If HeroCon is too cost prohibitive in the real world, why don't we bring it to the virtual one?

    Thus...
    HeroCon Online!

The world's first MMO based Comic Book Convention (That We Know Of).

The concept is simple, really. Take some of the awesome community stuff we do currently, and condense it into THE MOST EPIC EVENT PARAGON CITY HAS EVER SEEN!

    Some example events.

    Meet and Greet:
Come chill with your favorite signature characters and Paragon Studios staff members in Pocket D!

    The Costume Contest:
A staple of any convention. Win prizes from the Paragon Store, gold titles, and other prizes for having the best costume around. (And try out the signature character Cosplay Contest! Ain't a convention without one!)

    Scheduled Content:
Tired of Signature Heroes just standing around? Why don't you join them as they fight alongside you in these special leagues! Help Back Alley Brawler defeat Marauder, or team up with the Vindicators as they fight what lurks within the Sewers. It's an experience you'll never forget.

    Clash of the Titans:
PVP is dead? ...Well, yes. But a massive Hero v. Villain Charge lead by signature heroes and villains is far more interesting than a Stalker-Fest, don't you think?

    Costume Codes!:
Well, they're -selling- these now, but it wouldn't be a con without them.

    The Panel!:
The big one! Join the Paragon Studios team as they reveal new content and take your questions. I mean... they do something like this weekly with UStream, but still.

    Beta Stress Test:
This... isn't needed, but it would give many people a happygasm. If a major new issue is being tested, then giving people a few days to play with it would be a cool event if it was far enough along.

    Other Stuff?
Double XP? Ski Chalet? Halloween Events? Winter Events? Everything AT ONCE?!

The gist of the suggestion is to take the spirit of HeroCon, a celebration of all things City of Heroes, and to turn it into the biggest, most awesome In Game Event ever seen.

Standard Code, Time, and Money rants apply. But... cool, yes?
  14. I've been on a MiniBAF, and my only issue with it was that, it's a bit easier to get sequestered.

I play a Brute, which means that on a Normal BAF, aggro hops around a bit between myself and the other brutes and tankers depending on things like Gauntlet, PokeVoking, Taunt... that sort of thing. I don't get it too often, as I don't have taunt, and Willpower doesn't have the most powerful taunt aura. But I do enough damage that I still get blasted in the face at a reasonable clip.

On a MiniBAF, there are fewer high aggro classes, which means that I found myself with two warnings far more often, and people who don't normally -get- warnings were getting them as well.

Which lead to me spending most of the fight hitting adds because I would only get it one or two attack chains before my second warning popped up.

Or, on other occasions, getting sequestered because a scrapper or someone didn't notice that they were getting warnings, or expected someone else to pull the aggro in time.

So keep that in mind. A Smaller League means you -really- need to watch your rings. It's tempting me to snag Taunt, personally.
  15. ...I'd name her "Every Female In Virtue Pocket D".

But since I am chaotic good, and obligated to be helpful, perhaps some variant on Lorelei.

And some Rogue "Let's mess with Paragon City for fun and profit" content as well.
  17. I dunno, I think it would be cool if they randomized the NPCs in Pocket D like they do in Studio 55. You know how sometimes one of the Praetors, or a Powers Division member shows up randomly? Or how random villains chat each other up in the D?

It could be like that. They'd be there sometimes, and other times they'd be reversed, and other times something else would be there.

I mean, I've seen her turn him down loads of ways. It's kind of sad.
  18. It was great! And Dark Watcher showed up to pass out titles.
  19. Things I would pay for?

    • A /tailor command. /auctionhouse is already a Vet Reward (which, if at -all- possible, I am buying immediately.
    • The ability to change your origin. I realize there are issues with this, but it's not as crazy as a Powerset Respec.
    • Costume Powers. I love those things -sooo- much.
    • /em facepalm
    • A customizable sidekick/minion that worked like a Lore Pet.
    • -Vehicles-. Damn it, I want a motorcycle.
